3 Ch.3 Joining the team

I was still not fully convinced but then someone suddenly came up to me from behind and startled me out of my wits. He put his hand on my shoulder and said with his quiet velvety voice: "Yeah, Andrea,

you should totally join. I'm sure with you on the girls team they will definitely win."

He had the widest grin plastered on his gorgeous face- how can anyone say no to that.

I bit my lips in uncertainty. That was Christian-my crush. I've always secretly liked him. He had light brown hair and hazel eyes. His gentle gaze was charming enough to conquer any damsel's heart. Christian was kind and caring towards everyone. He was brilliant, bright and positive. Not only that but his father also happens to be a single parent so I feel like we have a special connection that no one else will understand.

I answered in a half dazed manner

"Of of course! How could I possibly say no!"

"Great! It's settled then!"

Daisy showed her pearl white teeth as she gave me the most intoxicatingly sweet smile.

I awkwardly nodded quickly rushing over to my seat.

Since Daisy said I have to go to the track training this afternoon I hurried to the field after sitting in all of my classes. Most of the kids were already there warming up.

Some of the girls spotted me approaching them. They came to greet me. A pair of twins introduced themselves.

"Hey! You must be Andrea! We're so glad to have you on the team! You better work hard and we better win. No pressure though. HaHa"

One of the twins said with a high and energetic voice. She grabbed my hand and shook it. They had their long dark brown hair in twin braids (heh, isn't that ironic). They were tall and dangly. They were an exact copy of each other with only one small detail to separate them. One seemed slightly more... perfect? Her skin seemed to be smoother, teeth whiter, hair shinier. But the difference was so small it could've easily gone unnoticed. That is strange I thought to myself.

I talked with other girls as well. They all happened to be super nice and welcoming. We had a good laugh at one of the girls comparing guys' abs to ABStract art.

We then warmed up and started running.

... We ran for 3 hours straight...

I don't know how that is possible or how we didn't die of exhaustion but I guess we still had energy left because we decided to have a quick race. All of us lined up and ran a 100 meter race. In that moment I felt light headed like i was in a completely different world. I ran as fast as I could and reached the finish line first.
