The Devil Within

I looked at the six pair of eyes infront of me. All of them looked at me confused, worried, and scared. We are all sitting inside their hideout, they are confused at how I knew this special secret place.

"Why are we here?", this marvelous Kim Seokjin asked.

"No, what are you doing here Mr Park?", the wise Kim Namjoon said. I looked at each of them and smiled dearly.

"I actually invited you all over in MY new home." As expected, they all looked shocked. Of course they will be, this used to be theirs and then I'll suddenly proclaim it as mine.

"W-what? How?", the manly Jeon Jungkook said so confused.

"Well, I basically bought it and, the end.", I just shrugged and sipped my coffee. I cleared my throat before speaking, they all looked so irritated so I should start doing what I have to do.

"I invited you all over to finally fulfill my mission.", I intently looked at them to find what their reaction would be.

"I got Kim Taehyung and Kim Seokjin out of prison for this. I bought the time of the rest of you to come here. Do you know why?", I waited until someone can finally understand what's going on. I mean, they are all smart, they should know better. I saw Namjoon gasped and I knew he realized it.

"Speak Kim Namjoon", he glared at me and sit firmly before talking.

"You did all of this, didn't you." I smiled at him and chuckled.

"Of course I didn't do all of this, I needed help to do this. Thankfully I got connections.", I smiled as I looked at every single one of them.

"And you have Jimin...", the infamous Jung Hoseok said. I looked intently at him, looking so disappointed. He was Jimin's closest friend yet he didn't do anything.

"Oh I see, you have the guts to speak his name when you let him, your bestfriend die in front of you." I tilted my head waiting for his response but as expected, he hang his head down. I know he didn't want it, I know he regret it. Why? Because Jimin knows, and I saw it.

"So Jimin told you everything?", this monster Kim Taehyung coldly asked. Wow, he wouldn't even ask how he survived.

"Yes", I said shortly. Soon, Min Yoongi finally spoke up.

"How did he survived?", I sighed and looked at him contently.

"I thought no one would ask... well, I was there when you buried him.", they all looked shocked. I guess "he saw us, he maybe have some solid evidence to put us all in jail..." is going on in their heads.

"And when he was lying down while you were digging, I saw him move and believed he's still alive. That's why after you left, I brought him up and took him with me."

"So you helped him have his revenge then? I mean, after what we've done to him I'm sure he won't sit still.", how fantastic this Kim Taehyung is. Surely Jimin would be so disappointed.

"Actually yes, everything's been his plan. Pretty good right? I mean, just how dumb are y'all to kill such intelligent person and nice person? Do you know how much in pain he was? Do you know how many times he cried because of the outcome of your dumbness and because of his love to all of you?", it still pains me that Jimin has been so kind even when he was treated that way. He's so kind, he's so much no one deserves him.

"Huh, enough of your nonsense. Do you really think we'll believe that after this? He did this to all of us! If he loved us, he wouldn't do this!" You're wrong Jeon Jungkook, you're wrong...

*flashback

"You know Austin, it's hard to see the devil within you... but we'll make them see it" he continued singing but I just looked at him. The way he sang it, there's too much emotion, too much pain. He really treated them as his friend, he deserves so much better.

"Do you know why I wanted to expose them?" I looked at his sad face as he looked at the ground swinging his tiny feet slowly.

"Isn't it for revenge Jimin? I mean, it's only natural because of what they've done to you. Everyone can totally understa-", he cut me off by shaking his head.

"Then what is the reason Jimin?" He sighed and looked at me with a sad smile.

"I want them to start over. The devil within them is their own darkest self. I want to expose them not for revenge, I want them to have a beautiful and peaceful lives ahead of them." Woah, I am speechless. How can he think about that?

*end of flashback

"You see, in order to have a life you'll enjoy, you have to take a risk. That risk might be too much but if it will cause you greater than what you have now, why don't you take it, right? My friends, they can only have a new life when it all went out. Their darkest self has to be revelaed first, to let go of that part and welcome a beautiful new one." I really can't believe it.

"Jimin was so kind, so loving, so precious. He is the kindest man I've ever known. If I were in his place, I would just take this revenge and see you all rot in prison but he didn't, because he loves you all." I looked at them intently as they looked away, embarrassed by how Jimin still thinks about them.

"Kim Seokjin, he told me how good you are in marketing and talking with people, he idolize you for that. He always treasured the times you cook for them, he told me how delicious your foods are and he loved eating them for it was all made of love and sincerity.", I looked at him but he just hand down his head. Soon, I looked at the man beside him.

"Min Yoongi, he told me that you are a good businessman, you know your company's strengths and weaknesses which gave you broader knowledge and view on every aspect. He also told me the time you two went drinking, that was the time your relationship became closer. He always wanted to be close to you and he was happy when the two of you did." He shifted his gaze away.

"Jung Hoseok, Jimin's closest friend. He told me how sweet and bright you are that he even calls you Sunshine. Even when you didn't help him that night, he told me that you couldn't do anything and that he understands. The times you cuddle in bed, the times you enjoy dancing and watching movies together, those were one of the best times in his life. H-he loves you so much because you are so close to his heart." I stuttered as it pains my heart, I looked at him when I heard his loud sob and cried.

"Kim Namjoon, the man with great leadership, he says. Your intelligence and leadership skills are what he admired the most. He told me that he remembered how you taught him about politics and how the two of you debate. He was so happy with those interactions and moments he had with you.", like Kim Seokjin, he hang his head low.

"Kim Taehyung, a mysterious yet child-like man. You may act as tough and all but still wants to be taken care of, wants to be free like a child. Jimin has been impressed at how artistic you are too. When it comes to deep talks, you were the one he approaches. He loved how unique you are.", he looked at me with confused sad eyes.

"And Jeon Jungkook, a manly man. Even with your tough build, you act like a child which Jimin loves the most about you. You are innocent and sweet, aside from your hot temper and desire to be fit. Jimin loves having fun with you and Taehyung. He also said that the two of you have some common grounds and he was so happy to spend time with you." He looked away and bit his trembling lips.

"You see, Jimin wanted all of you to have a wonderful life by giving up the life full of secrets and hatred. He wanted you all to have a life where you can live freely without worrying too much. He wanted you all to be free from the devil within yourself. He wanted the best for all of you, so you won't make the same mistake you did to him. Because it won't just hurt the receiving person, but all of you too." Jung Hoseok sniffed and suddenly spoke.

"Where is Jimin? I want to see him, I want to say sorry to him. Please take me to him, I'm begging you. I missed him so much." I smiled at him and stood up.

"He's actually here, in his favorite room. Follow me.", I walked towards the door to the living room and took a flight of stairs heading to the bedrooms. Jimin specifically liked this room so he asked if he can have this.

"This is where he is right now." I showed them the last room which made them all looked confused.

"Why? Why here?", Namjoon asked.

"He liked this room the most, he said you all had fun in here and it was the best memory to him.", I stepped away a bit as my hand approached the doorknob. I slowly opened the door and made the all go inside.

Inside the room was a movie room. But when we bought it, he asked me to put the pictures of all seven of them. Jimin had them all stored in his shared bedroom with Hoseok. He wanted me to display it all so I did.

"Where is he?", Jungkook asked when they couldn't find him.

I walked towards a small altar where a book was placed on top. I opened it and gave it to them - it was filled with Jimin's pictures in the hospital. One by one, they looked at it with different emotions. It is our months journey and it's filled with his cute smiles and other facial expressions I just loved.

"His smile never changed, even though we were harsh, his smile is still pure and beautiful.", Min Yoongi emotionally said.

They made it almost at the end and when they turned the second to the last page, the look on their eyes became sad and heavy.

"W-what is this? W-where is Jimin?" Hoseok started panicking as I picked something on the altar.

"Jimin is here" I showed them this beautifully crafted blue urn. Hoseok fell on the floor, looking at the ground with his tears flowing swiftly.

*flashback

"T-thank you so m-much Austin... I.. I will n-never forget h-how good you are... I-I owe y-you... t-t-thank... you..." I held his hand tighter as my tears drip on our intertwined hands. It so hurts seeing him like this.

"Jimin please... p-please we're almost there Jimin please hold on... hold on", I can't think properly right now.

"I t-trust you... please... t-tell t-them I... I love t-them...", I pressed my head on our hands and tighten the grip more. I can't let him go... I want him to continue living his life.. he deserves more than this.. I can't... I can't...

A high pitched sound surrounded my head as the line flattened on the screen. It felt like everything in me stopped, everything outside seemed to move so slow yet so fast... everything hasn't sinked in me yet.. I'm still confused... still in another broken world. But everything came back to normal when Jimin's hand fell off the bed. I looked at him trembling as his face becoming more pale.

"J... J-Jimin.....", they tried to resuscitate him but the line is still flat.

"Name: Park Jimin, Age: 24, Gender: Male, Date of Birth: 13th of October 1995, Time and Date of Death: 9:30 PM, 20th of January 2020." W-what?? N-no... no...

"Jimin no... nooooo!!! Jimin!!!"

*end of flashback

I wiped my tears and sniffed. I looked at them crying still couldn't believe that Jimin died. I still can't believe it... I still can't move on.

"W-what... what is the reason? Why did he die?", Jungkook asked.

"November 6, the doctors said he just had a concussion. 10 days after he got admitted, the doctors said that he had post-concussive syndrome since the symptoms weren't stopping. They said it will take at least 3 months until he healed so we wanted to wait there for 3 months. But as time passed by, the symptoms became severe until last December 25, Christmas Day, the doctors got hus result saying that he had High Grade Tumour. And then January 20 came, and he had to bid goodbye."

All of them sat down on the floor sobbing, crying loudly.

"I'm so sorry Jimin... I'm sorry... I caused you this... it was all my fault I'm so sorry..", Jeon Jungkook

"I'm sorry Jimin-ah.. for being too cruel to suggest that idea of burying you... I never thought you were still alive... still... I am so sorry... I'm sorry..." Kim Namjoon

"I'm so sorry for being heartless Jimin-ah... I'm so sorry I just did that.. I'm so sorry...", Min Yoongi said while Kim Seokjin and Kim Taehyung nodded as they both said sorry.

"Jiminie... I'm so sorry for doing nothing... I'm so sorry I let you suffer... I'm so sorry I betrayed you... I'm so sorry for lacking... I'm so sorry for everything... you were so good to us... so good to me... I'm so sorry...", Jung Hoseok

I looked at the urn I'm holding... I slowly and carefully put it down in front of them as they all hugged it together.

I hope you are happy now Jimin. They finally released themselves from the devil within them. I'm so proud of you.
