22 Chapter 17: Park Debut

Alex was currently slouching on a bench beside a fountain on a park. Why is he here? Well, Park Debut!

He can't just let Alice stay in the Inn yeah? She also needs to interact with children her age...well, physically her age at least.

Besides, his pocket-world was currently occupied by Nonko who was sunbathing(?) beside the river.

How? Well, the morning after Sagiri slept in his mansion, Nonko and the others went to his "room" to check up on her.

Yeah, and they found out about it.

He also made a deal with Sagiri to not include him to her report, and of course she denied it, saying that it is very important and she needs to report it.

Though, he managed to convinced her by telling her that his and Alice's peaceful life might be disturbed and they won't have much freedom.

She finally agreed after that, though not before warning him that she will be observing him.

Its actually been two days since then, and at that time, nothing really important happened. As for the matter of his café, well he left it all for Ashiya to handle.

Of course, Alex was the one to choose the name. You can never trust Ashiya for naming it, its not that he sucks but...he was just so...loyal to Satan.

Because of that, Ashiya actually wanted to call it the "Demon King's Café" or "Satan's Palace" and the like.

Seriously, Ashiya could be a bit of a fanatic sometimes. So Alex took it upon himself to name it "Heaven's Feel" yeah, that's the first thing that popped into his mind.

Though its still isn't official, and he might change it.

He shifted his gaze towards his beloved daughter who was playing on a tunnel....slide...thing. And base on the wide smile on her face, she was definitely having fun.

There are also two other kids around her age with her as well, and they seems to get along....friendly in fact.

He took his gaze away from her and stared at the sky. He was thinking about that little "experiment" he did with the hollow he captured.

Spirit Energy, or Spirit Particles is the energy that the people here uses—not counting the landlady and the others like her—, and its present everywhere.

Spirit Particles is divided into two parts; positive and negative. And a human and youkai's body are subconsciously absorbing those.

Those energy, can then be converted into "Spirit Power" with the right training. Like Exorcist training, or Chuuma Ninja training.

However, Alex wanted to know how or why can the human or youkai body absorb this Spirit Particles inside them.

And he found out. Its actually related to "Emotions", even the rate of absorbing these Spirit Particles is related to emotion.

Intense positive emotion lets them absorb Positive Spirit Particles much faster, while Intense negative emotion attracts more Negative Spirit Particles.

Its this reason why those who are considered evil Exorcist or the like can use the so-called "Dark Crafts" or "Evil Arts", because their Spirit Particles consists of mostly Negative one, and it alters their techniques quite a bit.

Now as to how spirit turns into hollows, its because the spirits who did not cross over to the afterlife was filled with regrets, and they have been subconsciously attracting negative spirit particles into their body, until it overpowers the postive one, and began transforming into hollow.

And aside from that, his control over his Spirit Magic also improved a lot. Now, not only can he interfere with souls, but even energies inside the body such as mana, heat, thoughts, and even memories!

Its possible because the true power of of this magic is the ability to interfere with the negative material possessed by living things. 

And if mastered, he can even create an artificial soul, or artificial consciousness and allow it to inhabit any body he wished.

"Hm?" Alex raised an eyebrow as he looked at a certain direction with curiosity and amusement. 'Magic? I can feel Demonic Force and Celestial force too. Though its weak, I'm certain that its "them" who suddenly emit thag power.'

Though it was only for a moment, Alex managed to pinpoint where exactly that sudden spike of magic came from.

Using Magic Sense, he located it. The people who suddenly released that magic, they were staying at an abandoned building in a school.

He can see two people he recognized very well, but he just let them be. H observed them for a few seconds before he took back his "gaze" and continue staring at the sky.

"Papa!"

Alex looked towards Alice who was running towards him. He smiled as he stood up and picked her up, he doesn't want her to trip and fall down after all.

He then sat back down on the bench and took out a face towel from his storage ring, of course he made sure that no one was looking at them.

He then began to wipe her sweat, "Eww, Alice is so sweaty, if you continue getting sweaty like this papa won't be able to hug you anymore."

"No!" Alice quickly hugged him and buried her face to his chest, she was standing on the bench Alex was sitting on. "Not sweaty at all!"

Alex smiled, "Yes, yes, my little princess is not sweaty anymore. Now let me finish this and we'll go buy some ice cream over there."

"Ice cream?! Where?! Where?!" Alice hopped around as she looked towards the place where her papa is pointing.

"Wait, calm down first princess, you need to wear this." Alex took out a yellow sun hat and placed it on her daughter's head.

Alice adjusted the hat before giving her father a smile, "Hmm, cute?"

"Oh?" Alex smiled as he find her actions cute, not just her look, "Very, very cute. Now let's go."

Alex carried her on his arm as he walked towards the ice cream truck.

"Papa! Papa! I want vanla!"

"Vanla? Ah Vanilla huh?" Alex smiled as he was now standing in front of the ice cream truck, "You like it?"

"Hn! A lot! Sa-neecha too!"

"Hoo?" Alex raised an eyebrow before looking at the ice cream dude, "One vanilla and rocky road please."

"Alright, please wait a bit sir." The ice cream dude smiled as he sees Alice keep squirming around on her father's arms as if she couldn't wait anymore.

After awhile, the ice cream dude handed them their ice creams. Alex first took Alice's and handed it to her before taking his.

He then payed for it before they left the park, all the while Alice was humming happily as she kept licking her ice cream.

Though, Alex quickly finished his ice cream.

"Papa."

"Hm?"

"When can I see mama?"

Alex paused for a few seconds before he continue walking, "Why do you ask Alice?"

'Ah, she probably saw some child with their mother....Its Chitose's fault for telling me to do this. Even though she's kinda right, but its still her fault.'

"Well, um, everyone has Mama." Alice stopped from licking her ice cream as she looked up to her father, "Where's mama?"

Alex grimaced, but he quickly used his magic sense to search for Emilia in the city, and he found her on a building, working as a call center agent(?)

'She's already working there? But how? She's only been here for a few days! Did she used magic to quickly learn about this world? Or she's just a genius.'

'Genius, definitely a genius. There's no way a seventeen years old girl like her would quickly have the strength to fight on par with Satan if she's not that talented. Angel blood can only help her so much.'

Shaking his head, he retracted his magic sense before looking at his daughter, who was staring at him with a sad expression.

'Ah shit.'

He took a deep breath before smiling, "Well, you see Alice, Mama can't meet you—"

Her eyes began to water.

"But you can meet her!" Alex quickly added, and sighed in relief when she wiped her teary eyes and looked at him with a joyful expression.

"Really?!"

'Ahh, Alex, Alex, why did you say that? You can't meet Emilia now, she's only been on Earth for a few days and she hasn't mellowed down. You can't reason with her at this time and she will surely immediately attack.'

However, as he watched his daughter happy face, he could only shake his head and let out a wry smile, 'Whatever...she's not strong enough to harm me anyway. Not with her magic, and especially not without it.'

"But, Mama is busy right now, and we can only meet her next week, so be a good girl okay? Or else I won't take you with me to go see your mama."

Alice smiled and quickly nodded her head, "Hn! Hn! I be good! Promise! I love you papa!"

He smirked and kissed his daughter on the cheek, 'This is so worth it.'

With that, the two head home back in the Yuragi Inn, with Alice continue licking her ice cream.
