17 Chapter 12: Work

A few minutes later, Alex finished eating his ice cream and brought Alice with him to their room, while telling Ashiya to follow him.

Alex wanted to discuss with Ashiya about what their job is going to be. Actually, Alex just wanted Ashiya to do all the work, while he's going to take care of Alice.

Honestly, Alex and Satan was used to letting their servants do all the work while they stay at home.

Arriving in front of their room, Alex paused before looking at his daughter, "Alice, I made a gift for you, I'm sure you'd like it."

"Gifh?" Alice tilted her head, giving her father a confused look.

"Yep," Alex nodded before looking at Ashiya behind him, "You too, this "gift" will solve your limited magic power."

Ashiya's face immediately turned serious. If this gift that his king is talking about can really solve the issue of his limited magic, then there is no need for him to conserve his magic.

At least, he won't need his king to recover his magic for him.

When Alex opened the door, Ashiya was immediately greeted by a sight he will never forget.

He followed after his king, and he was fascinated by what he saw. The Demon World was a barren land, and he wasn't sightseeing when they went to conquer Ente Isla.

Mountains, Forests, Waterfall! It was simply fascinating! However, his expression soon turned to shock when he felt a soothing energy entering his body.

He had never felt so energetic, so refreshed in his life! What's more, his magic seems to be regenerating as if he was feeding off from the despair of hundreds of people at once!

"Papa! Papa! Look! Sqerl! Sqerl!" Alice pointed at the family of squirrel on a tree branch not far from them with a bright smile on her face.

"Oh?" Alex looked at the place where Alice was pointing and let out a small laugh, "Wow, you're right. Do you like them Alice?"

"Uh? A li'l!"

"A little huh? So what do you like the most Alice?"

"Papa! I like Papa!" She answered, giving her father a bright smile.

Alex laughed as he gave his daughter a kiss on the cheek, "I like you the most too Alice."

Alex continue to walk, and since the land ws split into two due to the river, and the mansion was located at the other side, Alex build a bridge.

The bridge wasn't anything special, it was just made with ordinary—but rather durable stone, and is around seven meters long.

"Moooh!" Alice called the cow while waving her little hands.

Ashiya narrowed her eyes. Even though the cow looks ordinary, it was brimming with life force. There is something wrong with this cow, no— all the cows!

And not just cows, every living thing he saw here in the space was far from ordinary.

He then paused as he marveled at the mansion that he was sure his king has built on his own.

Though it couldn't rival that of the Demon King Castle, it was still majestic.

"Papa! Papa! Wazzut? Wazzut?" Alice ask, pointing at the mansion Alex built with a confused look but still having her smile.

"This? This is where we live from now on Alice."

"Really?!"

"Yep."

Alex smiled as he walked inside the mansion before looking back at Ashiya, "The ground floor has a fireplace, soft carpet, living area with a sofa, a kitchen, and restroom. The second floor only has a a couple of guest rooms, and the master's bedroom. As for the third floor, it only has a training room and my workshop."

Alex sat down on a sofa and put Alice on his lap, while Ashiya sat at the opposite side of him.

"Ashiya."

"Yes!"

Alex sighed and was about to speak when Alice released a cute yawn. Alex immediately laid her down on his lap while caressing her hair.

"Ashiya, I need you to find a work."

"W-Work my liege? May I ask why? You brought the entire treasury from the Demon King Castle my liege, riches shouldn't be problem."

Alex gave Ashiya a serious look, which caused the Demon General feel nervous.

"Ashiya, you should know that the treasures I brought can't be used here as a currency unless we exchanged it. But, do you really want to give those humans my treasures?!"

Ashiya turned pale as he kneeled down, "My liege, I humbly apologize for my mistakes! Indeed, no humans should possess the treasures of his majesty the Great Demon King!"

Alex just gave him a flat stare, 'Aahh~, this guy, just how much disdain does he feel for humans? I hope that he'll be able to at least understand humanity a bit while he works.'

"Ashiya, I'm going to give you some funds, then purchase a building and use it to make a Café."

Why did he decide to make a café? Because why not? Alex wasn't interested in becoming rich, so he won't make a large company, he also doesn't remember much about the Manga in his past life so he can't plagiarized them.

Well, if he did use magic then he can search his memories but why would he do that? He's good in drawing, he admit that, but making a manga? No thanks.

Aside from café, he also considered on making a jewelry shop—just like the MC of Arifureta did in the novel. Or maybe he can make some low-level artifacts and sell them in the "Supernatural" side of the world.

But in the end he chose the Café, because aside from a possible dating spot, he could also go there with Alice to taste the sweets.

Alex smiled, "And remember this Ashiya, you're going to be the owner of the café, so you will be responsible for those below you, just like I was to you all."

Ashiya lowered his head, "Understood my liege! I will not fail you! I will make the greatest Café that will spread all over the world!"

'You don't have to!' Alex retorted in his mind, but just released a sigh and nodded.

He took out a ring with an emerald green gem and tossed it towards Ashiya, who caught it in his hands.

"My liege?"

"Exchange it for money, and use it for your funds."

"M-My liege?! Bu—"

"Just do it. That ring belongs to a priest from the church in Ente Isla anyway. I don't really care about it, but now it has its uses so just use it."

"Understood!" Hearing that it came from a priest made Ashiya lose his hesitation. At least it can be useful for them.

"And Ashiya, make sure to strike a hard bargain exchanging that ring okay? Don't get cheated."

Ashiya laughed, "Milord, surely you jest. I was once the Leader of the Iron Scorpion Tribe before I became your General you know? I have centuries of experience in things like this."

Alex nodded with a smile, "Indeed you are. And before I unified the Demon World, your clan was known for their intelligence as much as they were known for their defense."

"Thank you for the compliment my liege."

"Now go and fulfill your duty."

"At once, your demonic highness!"

Alex watched as Ashiya ran out of the mansion to complete the order given to him.

Letting out a sigh, Alex looked down at his sleeping daughter and couldn't help but smile as he stroke her hair.

Carrying her, he went upstairs, towards the master bedroom and layed Alice down on the bed, before covering her with a blanket.

Kissing her forehead, he smiled, "Sleep well, little Alice."

He set up a magic field that will alert him if Alice woke up, or cry, before he left to his workshop.
