The Devil's Sweet Love: Villainous Wife

The desolate highway rested in lifeless silence except the cold breeze that swept through the greenery on the sides of the roads. The sky, overlooking the deserted road, was coloured with absolute black with dark, looming clouds foreshadowing the calm before the storm. The only light on the roads were the light from the street lamps that shone like stars.

A sudden screech sound pierced through the deafening silence as a black car was hit from the behind by the white Sedan, causing the black car to crash into the trees decorated along the highways. Though the trails leads down a cliff, luckily for the person driving the car, the car stopped before it can lead down the slope.

*Hiss!*

The person inside the car, who happened be a girl, held her head with furrowed eyebrows as she suffered silently with a splitting headache due to a hit in the head despite having the airbags popped off. She felt as if she just experienced a journey to the gates of hell because of the pain in her scalp.

"Where am I? I-I'm still alive?" She lowered her gaze to her smooth and fair skin as she questioned the reality of the situation.

Wasn't she dead? Then what was she doing in the car? Wasn't she burnt alive with her limbs broken? Then what kind of sorcery is this? Why was she looking so young and flawless?

As the reality slowly sunk in, only then did she finally remember the situation she was in. She remembered that this was the accident that made her bed ridden for years. This was the start of her downfall. The one who was the master mind of the accident was her dear so-called father and his family. Though he was not her father biologically, he was the father of the girl whose identity she was using. So, she was the one who suffered in the end.

The identity that she possessed was of Xin Mei. Though she was using her real identity to the world, the Xin family wasn't bothered to look over her. They didn't know that she wasn't Xin Mei. And this is not anywhere related to the fact that she was returning from abroad on this day because in sake of security, she has been living as Xin Mei for six years. She often came back to Country X, at least once a year. Not because she grew attached to this family, but to learn more about the family.

The original Xin Mei was born to Xin Zhaowen and his girlfriend Anna who happened to be a rich heiress. Though at the beginning he really loved Anna, he didn't know when but he got slowly seduced by Lu Meili. Then he used Anna for her wealth before killing her. Xin Siyue was the daughter who was born to Xin Zhaowen and Lu Meili. And the funny thing was, he believed that Xin Siyue was his lucky charm since Anna died when Xin Siyue was born and Xin Mei was sent abroad during that time as well. Though he thought that he got Anna's wealth, he underestimated her because she transferred all her properties to her daughter's name when she came to know about the backstabbing couple.

It was easy for her to possess Xin Mei's identity because they had similar physical traits when they were young. When she first saw Xin Mei, she was thirteen. Xin Mei was on the verge of her death due to Lu Meili's plans and so was she because of her own enemies. They became good friends during their short stay in the hospital. But she survived the ordeal while Xin Mei passed away shortly after. And there and then, she became Xin Mei in the eyes of the Xin family.

With a flash of hatred in her eyes, she woke up from her stupor to face the first ordeal.

Slowly, still holding her head and ignoring the blood, she got off from the car in high alert. She was determined to fight this calamity and live well. After all, she was the not the real Xin Mei. Then why does she had to suffer and lose her life under these unscrupulous family. She was the damn victim here.

Just as she got off the car, another figure slowly approached her. Xin Siyue, her supposed half sister who hit her car from behind. Seeing 'Xin Mei' standing there without much damage, Xin Siyue was shocked silly.

"S-S--Sister, you- you-" She wasn't able to finish her words. Maybe due to the fear of seeing 'Xin Mei' alive or due to absolute trace of envy in her eyes when she took in the appearance of the women standing in front of her.

"Xin Siyue, You wanna kill me? Or disable me? Dream on!" With a posh English accent, 'Xin Mei' asked her in English. Not because she wants to show off that she studied in abroad but because she genuinely only knew a little bit of Mandarin as she was not a Chinese.

Cold sweats began to seep out of the frozen Xin Siyue as guilt and fear overcame her heart. But her strong sense of pride didn't allow her to back down. Instead, she lost her composure completely.

"So what? If I left you without a damage, then that is like putting an end to my image and career that I had painstakingly worked for. Xin Mei, if the world knows that the music and lyrics of all my song were composed by you but not me, then everything I worked for will be over. If they knew your existence, then do you know how everyone will view me and my mother? A homewrecker and the mistress' daughter! I am not a fool to leave you intact just so you can ruin me. Therefore, I must silence you one way or another." Xin Siyue retorted angrily in Mandarin. Though she couldn't understand most parts, she understood the basic context.

Before she could act further, Xin Siyue took out a huge rock and pointed at her, ready to throw it at her any second. If it was just Xin Siyue, she could've easily disarmed her. But what she didn't expect was to be surrounded by twenty or so bodyguards who were standing behind Xin Siyue for protection. Fighting one person was simple but fighting twenty fully grown men who were clearly armed was impossible. She might've had a chance of defeating the majority and escaping if she was in her best condition but with a dizzy head, she wasn't even able to think straight.

If she had to escape this tragedy, she had to run! She couldn't allow such tragedy to happen again. Or else what's the point in gaining a second chance?
