4 Little Melon (EDITED)

After the doctor did some additional tests to check if her body system was doing well, Xia Meilin was left with her family.

Xia Meilin looked at her bloated belly. They had told her she was eight months pregnant when she woke up and found that her tummy was bigger than its normal size. She still couldn't believe that she was pregnant with a baby boy.

The doctor told her that since her baby had not yet formed and her uterus was not damaged when she got into the accident, her child was able to grow in her tummy. What a miracle that the baby's development was not affected by her near lifeless state during her time in a coma!

"Who's the damn bastard that did this to you, Meilin? Tell me!" Xia Sinian said as he gritted his teeth.

After learning that Xia Meilin was pregnant while she was in a coma, Ji Ruo had no option but to tell Xia Jiamu and Xia Sinian what the Lin family did and how Xia Meilin was raped.

Xia Meilin shook her head before she lowered it. "I... don't know... I'm sorry, brother," she lied. If they learned that it was Lu Yifeng who did it, the Xia family would definitely try to fight the Lu family.

The Lu family was a family that even the other elite families were afraid to go against. She knew that her grandparents and brother wouldn't sit still after what happened to her. If they would take action against the Lu family it would totally be the cause of the Xia family's downfall.

She was pregnant and the child's father was someone who was not to be messed with. Who knew what he and his family would do if they learn of the child's existence. After what the man did - stealing her innocence, it was better that they don't cross part at all. That was her decision.

She didn't want to see the man that gave her the worst nightmare of her life so as much as possible, she wanted to avoid meeting him.

"That doesn't matter anymore. What's important is we will have a new member in our family." Ji Ruo said as she gently stroked Xia Meilin's tummy.

Xia Meilin nodded in agreement. The child was innocent. She shouldn't blame the child for his father's mistake. Babies are the purest thing in the world, that was common knowledge. Xia Meilin couldn't do anything but to accept the child in her tummy.

It was a difficult decision at first knowing that the baby was a product of rape, yet if she did not accept him then who would? She didn't have the courage to send him to the orphanage, it wasn't just the Lu blood running through his veins, it was also her blood running through his veins. The baby inside her was hers no matter who the father was.

"This child is mine, even if I hate his father, this child is innocent of his father's sins. From now on, my son is a member of the Xia family." Xia Meilin knew the feeling of growing up with no parents better than anyone. If not for her grandparents, Xia Meilin would have turned into a recluse. Xia Meilin was a kind woman and it was against her principles to abandon a child.

Xia Sinian didn't agree on this. It would be better if they could give the child up for adoption. He was worried about his sister's reputation since she got pregnant without getting married. If others were to learn of this, then Xia Meilin's reputation would be completely ruined! No man love to marry a tainted woman, especially in their culture.

He wanted to say something but seeing the look on his grandma and sister's faces, he could tell that they would definitely argue back with him.

He looked at his grandpa and saw the disapproving look on Xia Jiamu's face. It was two versus two but he knew that they would still be defeated by the girls since both Xia Jiamu and Xia Sinian were afraid of Ji Ruo's wrath.

Meeting Xia Jiamu's eyes, he noticed that they both have a similar opinion. Xia Jiamu could only shake his head at Xia Sinian as if telling him not to speak about it anymore.

Xia Meilin stayed in the hospital until her due date. She was able to give birth to an adorable angel with a full head of brown hair like his mother.

When Xia Meilin first held him in her arms, her heart melted. She couldn't believe that she gave birth to the cutest baby she has ever seen! When he smiled, it was as sweet as a summer strawberry and filled her with a sunshine she never knew existed in the world.

She could see her own reflection in the eyes of the baby. There was purity in his gaze that touched Xia Meilin's heart... and she knew that at that moment without a word said inwardly or from her lips, that she loved the baby just like what a mother would do... it was natural, right? And if a person came to harm them she would defend with her life in need be.

It was not only her heart that was stolen by the boy, but he also stole Ji Ruo's heart and filled it with warmth and happiness. Ji Ruo's maternal instinct kicked in upon seeing Xia Meilin holding her son. She wanted to protect them both no matter what.

For some reason, Xia Jiamu softened up upon seeing the adorable little boy. The fact that he now has a grandson was something so overwhelming. Although unlike him, Xia Sinian hardened his heart. There was no way he was going to accept a rapist's son as his family.

"Have you finally thought of a name for him?" Ji Ruo asked when Xia Meilin handed her the baby.

"Xia Gua, his name is Xia Gua." Xia Meilin said with a bright smile despite how haggard she looked. They say that after giving birth; the moment the mothers were to see their babies, they would forget all of the pains they experienced while giving birth.

Xia Sinian furrowed his brows, "Are you serious? You still want to name him after the fruit you've been craving for the past weeks?"

Ever since Xia Meilin woke up from her coma, she would always crave for melons. So one day, while she was thinking of a name for her son, she decided to give him that name.

"What's wrong with it? It's really cute!" She smiled. "My Little (Xiao) Melon (Gua) is the cutest."

Xia Sinian could only sigh because of his sister's poor naming sense. He felt sorry for his nephew... Wait- what nephew? There's no way that he was going to accept that boy as his nephew!
