40 Final destination

By the time I woke up the next morning, it was already breaking dawn.

I stretched out my body and turned to my side. I was nearly tucked in the blanket, just like I had been when I had woken up in the inn the previous night.

I turned to the other side and saw that it was empty. But when I stretched my had to the empty side, I knew that what had transpired last night had been real.

It had all been real.

His scent was still on my body and even though the side before me was empty I knew that he had spent the night with me, his Ames wrapped around mine.

The blanket was so well tucked it was almost impossible for me to easily untangle myself.

And I wondered if he had been the one to wrap the blanket around myself that night in the inn while I slept as I had no recollection of doing that.

I looked up and saw that the men were walking about and I felt an instant shame.
