4 Chapter 4

The next morning, Hitoshi had a few experiences he had not had previously. Hunger was a strange sensation, which thanks to his powers he was able to whip up breakfast for him and his companions. The next thing was certain bodily functions that were different. It became clear there would be a period of adjustment and he was not thrilled with the idea of traveling places on foot as opposed to flying. It was with this in mind that he created a luxurious carriage that he gifted his demons the ability to drive. Out of curiosity, he attempted to stab himself with a kitchen knife, but felt no pain and did not bleed. There were limitations to his human form, but not so much that he could cut corners and try to get back to Hell faster than his mother's whim. Fortunately, he discovered he could transform into his ethereal self at will, which he decided would be useful when searching for his bride.

Hitoshi left early in the morning with Kurayami and Anala, while Kasai and Mosu stayed back at the manor. As they walked through the streets, Hitoshi and Kurayami were sizing up potential suitors, while Anala marveled at the sights and sounds of the city.

"Excuse me, Miss, what's your name?" Kurayami said with a smile.

The pretty blonde blushed, batting her eyelashes at the handsome demon, "I-I'm Sango Lee."

"No." Hitoshi groaned.

Kurayami tipped his hat and meandered away back to Anala's side, leaving the pretty blonde staring after him, dumbfounded at what just happened. Kurayami sighed, eyeing the scowling Prince, "Which one was this one?"

"Adultery."

"At least it wasn't murdered like the last one I tried to chat up." Anala said with a deep sigh, "I didn't realize mortals were so… sinful? Is that redundant?"

Hitoshi growled, wrinkling his nose in disgust, "This is so fucking stupid."

Kurayami put his hands behind his head, stretching his neck back as he did, "Hitoshi you do realize that in order to find you a wife that you're the one that needs to talk to them, not me or Anala, right?"

"You're saving me damn time and sparing me my breath wasted." Hitoshi snapped back, shoving one hand in his pocket while the other took a drag of his cigarette through the holder, biting it in between his teeth.

"Well, maybe if we had a better idea of what kind of woman you're looking for then we'd be able to narrow down our search!" Anala commented, waving her index finger in the air.

Hitoshi shot a glare back at the pair, "I fucking told you already -- she can't be on Hell's List."

"We found two of those already and neither appealed to you!" Kurayami spat back, rolling his eyes as he did.

"They were weak looking. I need a strong woman to bed." Hitoshi grumbled, gritting his teeth as he tapped his cigarette holder, "None of this 'making love' bullshit these mortals are obsessed with… If I can't fuck then I won't bother."

Kurayami nodded, folding his arms as he did, "Okay so… a woman with more curves than the others we've been chatting?"

"... Sure."

"Oh! Oh! What about hair color? Or eye color? These mortals don't look like the women in the Ethereal Plain!" Anala exclaimed, gesturing to her features.

"Shhh!! Shut up, you fucking idiot!" Hitoshi hissed quietly, "It's bad enough I had to make people think you look fucking normal and that the damn manor has been there for a while! Stop announcing stupid shit like 'mortals' and 'ethereal' anything!"

"She has a point, Hitoshi we need more to go off of then you just want to lay with her." Kurayami pointed out, tapping his finger on his arm as he did.

Hitoshi stopped, pulling at his hair with a frustrated growl before he took a deep breath and steadied his nerves. There was no point in getting upset at the two because they had a point. In truth, he never thought much about who or what he would like in a companion. He had never had problems getting a woman into bed, demon or divine. Sex was easy - you did the deed then were done. Between his devilish good looks, charming cruelty and backhanded flattery that seemed to draw most women, his lifestyle never required him to think beyond the next morning.

"I'll think on it more…" he muttered under his breath. As they moved down the street, the three of them picked up on a lovely floral scent in the air. It was a smell none of them had experienced before, which piqued their curiosity to the source, even Hitoshi's.

Anala sniffed the air, "Oh wow, something smells nice!"

Kurayami took a long breath in, "Yeah, home is kind of stale or smells like sulfur."

Anala tugged at Kurayami's arm and dragged him ahead of Hitoshi, "This way! Follow me!"

Hitoshi groaned again, cursing profusely under his breath as he followed with a heavy foot-fall.
