32 Chapter 31—Off day rivalry

Rivalry started.

" Sushi...I know you love sushi," William said as he lend the sushi.

" This one is delicious... it's nice to pair with rice and sushi," Wyndell said while carrying the chicken Marengo.

Irritated and feeling disgusted written on Demetri's face after turning his side to the two fellas.

' Hey, you! I cooked that for Lilian!' Demetri's irritated mind yelling while irked rolled his slit eyes.

" Thank you," she thanked the two and took the dish.

Demetri's pretty mind coping with an idea to get them jealous and feel annoyed.

" Honeybunch, you will love this", Demetri whispered and sweetly put another dish on her plate.

Lilian's stuck looking at Demetri's charming countenance. She can resist that kind of pretty face, in addition to how he called her.

Honeybunch? Sounds corny but I like it.

She remembered someone calling her that before. She gazed at William's side.

The two dudes turned to Demetri's action, especially when they heard him calling Lilian his honeybunch.

' That's my endearment to my ex-wife', William's brain complained.

' How could he call my baby a honeybunch! She's mine,' Wyndell thought with silly jealousy.

Lilian takes multiple 'ahem' to snatch their attention and to stop the heat between them. This is not a good sign for having a happy late breakfast.

" Baby, you want water? ", Wyndell asked permission and gently poured water on her glass.

She nodded and accepted the glass. There was a trace of annoyance on William's face and Demetri's mind was secretly aggravated.

" Wifey, the dessert is delicious. Wanna try?" William inquired with a charming smile.

Lilian finally realized that she must have been mistaken about inviting them together for a meal. She noticed that the three seemed to be squabbling with their eyes on each other.

This is bad! Why she's so stupid of getting on this kind of foolish idea!?

" Thanks, " she answered William and taste the dessert. She nodded as she savored it delicious.

Demetri simply stares at her seemingly asking how it tastes like.

" It's delicious, " she gladly commented.

" Wanna try this one, baby ", said Wyndell while handling the beefsteak.

" She's on the dessert bro. It means she's coming loaded, " William irritably reacted.

Wyndell raised his bushy eyebrow at William.

" I'm asking my Lilian, not you! " answered Wyndell in a peevish way.

" Can you please stop calling her like yours, she's not yours at all Wyndell, " William idly contradicted.

" If you didn't interfere and use her for money, I'm pretty sure she's happy with me ", gently responded Wyndell.

They're seem so calm but the fire started to spark between their eyes.

Demetri intervened in their glaring conversation. He delicately reached the steak. Wyndell and William look at him. He uses the steak utensil to slice it and say ' Ah ' to Lilian.

She intimidatingly opens her mouth to consume the food. He thoughtfully gets the table napkin and gently wipes the excess lard on her lips.

" I prepare this food for Lilian, with love and passion. I've never prepared this for you, " Demetri said and laid a glaring gaze to William and Wyndell's side.

" You're lucky that she invites you to have a meal with us. If she asks me first before she invited you to come in, I won't let you get enter on this room " he added like a dominant male alpha.

William snapped down his palm on the table. She was a bit on alarm after hearing the sudden sound of slam.

" That's why I don't want to taste it even just the fiber of the food you prepared. The setting you made sounds romantic, the food seems delicious but I want to ask you something Demetri...are you doing this for her because you really care about her? Or you just doing this 'coz you're hiding selfish aims inside your devil soul?" William seriously interrogated.

" I am not the only devil here, William. If my heart is desiring drastic than what you think, better you ask yourself why you're still here...eyeing Lilian everywhere she goes? " Demetri confronted him.

" Probably, the legacy you get isn't sufficient enough for your indecisive desire. You said before that you don't need Lilian anymore but it seems like the wind changed in another direction, " he added while cunningly smiling.

" You still need Lilian just to win, that's why you're joining competing with us (Wyndell). " Demetri continued as Wyndell nodded to agree.

William takes aback. Demetri was right, she needs Lilian to win but not for money and fame. He needs her to be happy. It's been a long time that he lives like an empty sheet, he needs to fulfill it before his death of sorrow and regrets.

" Don't worry, I'm going to quit for the agreement we settled ", answered William.

She looked at him surprisingly. Even, she doesn't know really about their agreement she still cared about it.

Demetri clapping on surprise.

" That's good, It means you're not going to compete with having Lilian again? " William approved.

It's that what he thinks! But, I am William Gritson, I won't give up Lilian that easily, Demetri!

" I will get my cheque later, Demetri, and I will pay you fully and without exception ", answered he. Demetri just smiles while Wyndell finds a deep reason for William's sudden decision.

He smells something about his stepbrother's quitting determination. There's a deep-down reason. He needs to find it hard.

" So, let's just jump to a conclusion. The determination I saw in your eyes was final, and I don't want to argue with you. William is out of the agreement. The mean of quitting the agreement is losing to win Lilian's heart. You're quitting because you don't care or even love her right? " Demetri inquired.

William finally loses his final smile before he answered.

" I love her but I need to let her go. To let her go with someone who deserves to have her, " he said and turned his face to Wyndell's side.

" Demetri, you don't deserve to have Lilian...if you really care about her, quitting is the key ", he meaningfully continued.

If Demetri will quit, it means he can't dethrone Aduke's possession. Despite his selfish aim, he can't deny the fact of having a pinch of love gripping his gloaming and desirable aching heart towards Lilian.

He doesn't want Lilian to break his ambition. If he let her do it, he was ruined and got on lame.
