17 Chapter 16 — Her deepest regret
She told Demetri that she would like to apply for a job. At first, he disagree but she recited their conversation last night—about her wish to be granted. She wants to have work to earn money. Her savings have been reduced because of her expenses.
But, her real reason is that she wants to save money for her plan. She wants to pay a person who can help her to get her children.
Demetri asked her the curriculum vitae she had made. He carefully reviewed the detail written in the paper.
" You finished Business Administration, but, you haven't had a job experience," he commented. She took the paper from his hand.
Damn. She forgot to put her working experience. With so many things she can forget why she forgot to put in on here.
" I forgot to put it here," she excused.
" Our company searching for a new employee. It's up to you if you like to work with us," Demetri willingly informed.
" Uhm...there's no problem about your offer but I prefer to apply in another business company—even just a small company," she responded.
" Are you sure? " he questioned. She gracefully nodded.
" Ok. As you wish," he added.
She went through a coffee shop and stayed there. She needs to give herself a break. She quietly sipping coffee and leisurely fiddling her phone.
She didn't realize that Wyndell had noticed her outside, so he came into the shop.
She looked up at Wyndell as he approached her seat.
"Can I join you?" He asks permission.
" No. I want to be alone," she irritably disagreed. He just cackled. Wyndell resisted her request. She glared at him.
" You know what, I like your simple personality, but I prefer the Lilian who kissed me at the bar that night. You're a damn good kisser, " he praised in a good means.
She can't help but smile.
" It was a part of my practice," she gladly answered.
" I knew," he interrupted. She's a bit shocked.
" How did you know?"
" I saw Demetri outside the bar. He's watching us and I took the advantage to kiss you. Good! I am so smart. I made him jealous that easily," he gladly shared.
She flashed a sly smile. Did Demetri was jealous for real? She couldn't imagine how Demetri could get angry and annoyed when he was jealous.
She knows that Demetri is possessive but she hasn't experienced it to make him angry with her.
" Do you think Demetri will like me?" she asked with full of interest.
Wyndell feigned his smile. He saw in Lilian's eyes that she was starting to fall in love with Demetri. This is really bad for his side.
What about him? At first, William stole Lilian from him and now, another scumbag appeared to snatch her again. He could no longer stand it. He needs to talk to his dad.
Not again, Lilian. Not this time.
His desperation burning inside his soul.
" He's just using you," he deeply stated.
Her smile suddenly disappeared. She knew that Demetri was just using her for some reason. But, she can ease away the strange feelings that sprouted inside her vulnerable heart towards Demetri.
" You didn't know about Demetri. After he managed to make his victim fall in love with him, he suddenly abandon when he gets bored. Do you want him to ruined your life like what William did? " he said in concern.
Shock was written all over her pretty face. How did he know about her problem with William?
" After Demetri exploited you, you do really trust him? If he did something terrible just to get you, do you think...he's not going to do it more horrible? " he added.
" Did you really k-know everything about me? " she unbelievably uttered. He just remained silent.
" Who are you?" Lilian interrogated. He just showed his faint smile.
" I am your past and I will be your future," he deadly revealed.
He stood up. He turned his gaze to William, who had just entered the shop. Her mind was seemingly full of queries.
She stared at the two domineering men. Wyndell snappily adjusted his coat and stepping across.
They looked at each other for a moment. She didn't know why she seemed to notice the hatred flaring with their eyes.
What the heck is going on? Is there something that happens that I don't know about?
Wyndell stepped out of the coffee shop. He immediately called his dad. He told him to convene Demetri. He wants to have words to that scumbag.
He could not forgive him if he ever deviated from what they had talked about. He got in his car and fast drove back to the mansion.
William and Lilian looked at each other. Lilian couldn't understand why William's eyes seemed so depressing.
She thought he would approach her but he immediately left the coffee shop. She followed her gaze until he was completely out of her sight.
It was too late for her to decide of following him because he suddenly disappeared like a bubble.
She let out a frustrated sigh. She went to the park. She wants to see her children and talk to them even for a moment.
When she arrived at the park, she was surprised to find William sitting in her favorite spot every time she went here.
He stared blankly into the distance. He watching the kids having fun playing on the playground.
She stepped close to where he was seated. She slowly sat down next to him and do the same what William did.
" If you wish to see Lutos and Rosé, I can't grant it," he said in melancholy. She scrunched up her face.
" Three years...more than 3 years had passed William that you deprived me of seeing and being able to have my children. How long will you torture me?" she asked him in a raucous tone.
She was filled with emotion and deep hatred. William looked at her.
" As long as I don't win against Demetri, you won't see them. It's Demetri's fault if you can't be with your kids anymore," he vaguely answered.
She could not understand why he's telling her that way.
" What's going on! I don't know why you're so mad at Demetri. Why are you blaming everything on Demetri, is it because he already got me? Didn't you ask yourself that you're also to blame why did Demetri do that thing! ”She said in anger.
" I am deeply admitted that I am wrong, Lilian! But, I didn't regret that I took Yvette from his arm. I didn't regret...that I let you go," he said while staring at her.
He forged to say that and he didn't mean it.
Her heart ripped and harshly shattered into pieces by what he told her.
The result of her anger, cause her to slapped him hard.
" If you didn't regret to rejected me! Me, I regret it thoroughly. I regret that I meet you! I regret that I love you. I regret that I marry you. Don't ever forget this, William. Mark my word, from now on—throughout my life until I die, I hate you like hell!" she said in hatred entirely.
