14 Chapter 13 — Never again

Lilian was still sound asleep while William was staring at her face. He didn't know why he had been able to keep an eye on her for so long. He thought of fun to wake her up. He took a piece of dried leaf and tickle her ear.

She hastily moved and cover up her ear. He refrained from laughing. She opened her eyes and quickly moved back when she saw their faces an inch away.

Lilian sat down and fixed herself. She didn't realize that she would feel too at home to sleep in this forest.

" We have to go—

" Wait," William snatched her wrist as she halt.

There was a leaf that was stuck to her hair. She holds his gaze and then, she moves her eyes upon his handsome face. William gave a gentle hem.

" Let's go,"

He lend out his hand but she refused it. Lilian leads their way. William stared at his hand through Lilian's rejection. He shrugged his shoulder and came after. They trudged in a vast forest

" Stop!" William interrupted when he heard a strange noise. Lilian ceased to walk.

" Why?" She whispered.

Her heart pounds rapidly. William pulled her hand. They took the other route. They hid in the lush grass and peeked. There were five people were standing and someone was kneeling on the ground. The unfortunate man begs forgiveness from the armed men.

Lilian almost screamed when a man suddenly shot the man, fortunately, William covered her quivery mouth. William motioned not to sound out if she will... they're going to die. She shivered nodded.

The man returned to the lifeless body and took a shot again. They're making sure that the man is dead. She touched William's arm as they waited for the armed men to leave.

The men halted when Lilian suddenly shrieked after she saw the viper behind them. William immediately stood up holding her hand and prepared to go off.

Killers suddenly noticed them. They have no doubts to shoot them. Unlucky, that is the favorite word most of the time she meets in her life.

" Run! Hurry up! " William exclaimed.

They run as fast as they can while escaping the flying bullets. Lilian misstep and stumbled across in rush.

" Shit!" William yelled and turned to help her stand. They are like wild pigs being chased by a five-hunter.

They got out of the forest and reached the highway. They could not see a car passing by so William pulled her again across the woods. There they stayed and hid in the rock.

" Where are they?" A man asked his companion while panting.

" Did you recognize their faces?" another one inquired. The guy shook his head. Three more men followed.

" Damn it! Boss will kill us if someone tells the police what we did! " the guy who had tattoos on his neck simmered with anger and scolded his companion.

They watched them quietly. A car passed by and they hurry up to drive away. They both breathed a sigh of relief after the killers left. They went out and waited for a ride back to the city.

" Don't you have a car?" Lilian asked him.

" I don't know where we are. I just left my car on the side of the highway," he responded.

They looked ahead, with two SUVs approaching. William waved to stop them. The car parked on the side. Demetri got out of the car with the rest of his personnel. He stared at William before he turned his gaze upon her.

" Did you enjoy my fianceé? Did you like it?" Demetri blatantly interrogates William.

Lilian immediately intervened. She will explain everything.

" You're thinking wrong, Demetri. William helped me out from danger. He saved me," she clarified. But Demetri ignored her explanation.

" You told me that Yvette is much better than Lilian, so you chose to steal my woman and got decided to reject Lilian," he continued.

" It was a past, Demetri ", William answered back.

" Yeah, you're right. It was a past, but you can't change the past. You tore our friendship because of one woman. Now, take the result of your mess but I won't ever give you Lilian. She belongs to me now, and that's your expiation, " he said in displeasure.

Lilian was stunned by what Demetri confessed. William took Demetri's woman. Now, she already know who Yvette was.

Yvette was the reason why William didn't give any affection to her. He was insanely obsessed with her even when they were married. Suddenly her tears fell on her cheeks.

Her heart is aching. She doesn't know how to react. She doesn't even know if she still believes that one day William love her the most more than his other woman.

"After you took Yvette away from me, you still believe that you can get Lilian from my side? That won't happen, William. " Demetri reassured.

He held her hand. She turned her eyes to William. He quietly staring at them like an idiot stupidly waiting for the star falling from the sky.

Is he going not to explain his side? She expects a further explanation.

She glanced at William again before she finally got inside the car. It is hard to believe the reasons why Demetri is furiously mad at William.

Demetri raped her for a reason. He did make William get a taste of his own medicine. But, she's now in the middle of the two big rocks.

She is the stupid victim here. Demetri made an awful decision. He just used her to take retaliation on his traitor's best friend.

Lilian now is the bait and a poisonous weapon at the same time. But, how can she escape this dilemma, she has no other place to run. It was as if everyone around her was just using her infirmity.

“ Did he touch you?” Demetri breaks the silence.

She sternly looked at him. Demetri forced her to be with him. She's unaware of his scheming personality.

" No," she answered briefly.

He was a little stupefied at what Demetri wants to happen. He brought his face closer and laid his hand on her thigh.

" Don't lie to me," he questioned while tightly looking at her eyes.

She swallowed up after his palm gradually rose into the inside of her blouse. She resists her fear of recounter his stare.

" I'm not lying," she said while holding her breath. He suddenly retreats.

" Good. I don't want to share my woman with anyone else. Never again," he deeply stated.
