And with a gloomy mood, I had gone out to hunt some ordinary beasts.

3 days later…

*CLACK!!* *SWUUUUSH!* *SLICE!!*

"And that should be the last beast!" I spoke to myself as I sliced the head of a goblin.

"So now I only need to kill one MORE powerful monster than these ones! I said while looking for a bigger target, and I found one but surrounded by 4 weak monsters a little bit far from my hideout.

As soon as I got closer, I discovered a group of special goblins carrying weapons; they seemed to have some intellect, unlike the ones I have faced before.

The group of goblins was surrounding an adult-sized goblin that carried a staff, this one appearing to most likely be a magician as well as their leader.

This guess was soon proven correct since as soon as I approached them, the adult gobbling screeched.

This appeared to be a command as immediately after, the goblins carrying weapons turned their heads toward my direction, screamed, and started sprinting towards me with a hungry and savage expression on their faces.

In response, I immediately put my guard up and dodged while simultaneously attempting to cut the head of the goblin closest to me, alas my attempt failed and my target was able to dodge my strike.

"FUCK, I was right, they do posses more intelligence" I managed to cut his ear which made him squeal in pain, this created an opening that I quickly used to insert my sword into its brain.

Suddenly the other goblins backed down with a nasty laugh ingrained all over their faces, this was followed by the ground under me splitting away to reveal multiple black hands that quickly got hold of me and started dragging me under, taken completely by surprise I quickly looked up only to find the adult gobbling holding its staff that was now shining while chanting some weird language looking completely focus on whatever it was doing.

But because of his low intelligence, he was so focused that he was open to any attack, so taking that chance, I threw my knife directly into his head, piercing it with no difficulty. The hands stopped pulling me and disappeared. The other goblins screamed with fear as their leader had died and runned to somewhere only God knows.

At the cave…

"That was one dangerous encounter! I should really work on my movement and battle senses! Well, now I should be at level 3 or 4. HAHAHA! Noah, open menu!" I lauughed.

"Holy Shit!, everything I ever wanted is in this book!" I said with a face full of smiles as this book had steps of how-to cook, battle techniques, and even how to make clothes! Anything you would need to live in the wilderness was inside this book!

"You are really getting nicer and nicer, Noah!"

This month I hunted a lot of monsters and reached level 10! And this was the last day of my daily quest, and the egg became half-white half-red; it looked like a fight between fire and snow.

"499, and 500!" as said as I finished my push-ups, I even upgraded the quest and made it 5x as the previous training didn't affect me much now. I even made a little bit of time inside my day to practice my new hobbies such as Cooking, making maps as I didn't have a detailed map feature, etc. Anyways these were my stats now…

I raised my eyebrows at suspicious behaviour as the system never told me to manually accept a reward before.

"Noah, do you know the reason why do I need to accept it manually?" I asked.

"Ok…" my suspicion rose even more as Noah never hid from me anything.

[But let's say that you changed identities someday because of me, will you be angry?]

"Well, I will probably be mad If I change into a bad one, but to I good one and powerful one man, I will thank you to death!" I replied.

I ignored his weird behavior and accepted the daily quest reward, and a message appeared

[???: A system software upgrade, Congratulations! But sadly, the system won't be working until 24hours from 5 min later. Please get ready!]

I jumped from happiness then accepted the second reward, and an unexpected prize got given to me.

[???: A dormant demon bloodline awakening ritual, please get ready for a total of 4 hours of pain! Please make sure to not faint as you will die if you do so.]

"Wait, what?!" I panickly said, then suddenly I felt as if my bones started breaking to dust and reconstruct, my skin and nails peeling off and regrowing, and my blood boiling.

"AHHH!! THAT HURTS PLEASE STOP; I BEG YOU TO STOP!!! I WILL DO ANYT- AAAA!!!!!!!!" I shouted as blood came out of my eyes.

This scenario continued for 4 hours that seemed like internity that I couldn't even cry in as my tears got finished after 30min of the torturing…

4 hours later…

"Plea..se St..op."I weakly said in a pool full of my blood as I couldn't even move one finger; suddenly the blood dropped at the water, then it shone so much that I couldn't even look, then I fainted.

As soon as I fainted, I found myself in a dark place, that even walking 30min I felt as if I was walking in the same area. An old man with a beard and hair as white as snow appeared in front of me. "Hey, you were really about to die right there, son." He spoke with a wise voice.

"WHO ARE YOU? YOU OLD MAN!" I said with a warry expression

"What an energic young man you are; who am I doesn't matter; would you like to inherit my snow magic?"

"Why would I even want your crappy snow magic," I asked.

"Well, you will probably be dead when you wake up if I don't help you, and I'm the one who made 'the magical water' that you were talking about." He said with a calm expression

"So you are telling me that you were listening to everything I said? And I even bathed in a man's bath?" I disgustingly said

"Sadly, yes." He replied

I talked to myself for a while, then I decided, "Ok, I accept it, but only because you saved me."

"You won't regret it…." He said with a reassuring smile.

Then my vision had gone black again.
