7 CHAPTER 6

My head was buzzing and i have a million questions but somehow they didn't come out of mouth, while I'm still struggling to get my head in order Chase came into the room and immediately the warm sensation ran over my entire body before i can control myself i asked " why do i get a tingling feeling through my entire body when you are near?" i blushed when i realized i just said the words aloud. Chase and his uncle chuckled and that made my cheeks turn more red than they were Derek must've seen my embarrassing state and spoke up "that's because you and Chase are destined to be together,you are mates thats why you both experience a warm sensation it's because you are not just emotionally but also physically attracted to another that's how it works in our world and you are apart of it" I didn't know what to think my mind kinda blanker out after hearing the words...."mates,destined,our world....what does it even mean you have to be more specific " only then did i notice Chase shrugging of his leather jacket. His t-shirt clung to him like a second skin with broad shoulders and a lean muscular body that is very obvious to the looks of his t-shirt screaming for mercy around his arms and stomach the guy has a body to die for and his mine...wait what?. I blinked my thoughts away thats when i noticed that he was covered in tattoos strange markings that i have no clue about.

"What kinda tattoos are those?" i asked in compete awe "They are called runes and every one is for a different purpose but don't worry I'll teach you all about them you will get your first one when you turn 18 and that's tomorrow Derek will explain to you" before i can think i jump up in shock " are you insane!!! my aunt is going to kill me and wait how do you know my birthday is tomorrow?" "calm down Maisey sit down and I'll explain" .

Obediently i sat back down interested about what Derek is about to tell me what shock me most that I'm not shocked at all about everything.

"We're shadow hunters we are the balance between good and evil like Chase said runes are for different abilities and a shadow hunters get his first rune when he/she turns 18 as well as finds they're mate you are one of us partly and we've been searching for you ....our kind waited for almost 30 years for you because you are the one that will lead us to greatness you are our leader our chosen one as tomorrow you turn 18 you will accent and get your first rune and your power you possess increases we will train you and teach you how to use your runes and when it's time you will partake in a small ritual that crowns you the chosen one that's when you're power will be far more greater than any shadow hunter."

"Wait what the fuck I'm no I'm no shadow hunter I've no powers whatsoever you must be mistaken!!!" i screamed " this madness there's no such thing you're playing with my mind I don't believe any of this " "Maisey you're our leader you are born into this tour parents came from a strong line of leaders your Father was the god of power in the shadow hunter realm and your mother was an alpha and queen of the most powerful werewolf pack in history and your aunt Daphne was the leader of the witches...our ancestors said that when all 3 gifts is combined he/she that possess them will be the leader of us all"

Dumbstruck i can't believe what I'm hearing when i finally caught my breath i slowly uttered " so you're saying I'm supposed to be this great ruler and my parents and my aunt were in on it why haven't they told me any of this I've been living a lie and they turn out to be people i don't know ...that's just great a day before my birthday this shit happens" .

I don't know when it happened but slowly i felt my cheeks getting wet I didn't realize that i was crying until Derek gave me a tissue.

"Maisey I'm sorry but they had to keep you safe you're parents planned to tell you the day they died they we're on they way to us to set up a meeting for you to learn the truth and start with your training unfortunately some of the supernatural creatures we're supposed to fight of didn't want them to and sabotaged their car and that's why they made an accident the beings knew when you we're ready you would be the only one that can destroy them and they're entire race and realm I'm sorry but there's no time to waste you should get ready for bed tomorrow is a big day and war is coming."
