4 Chapter 4

"He's your son too." Was all Lucy could reply but she immediately regretted that when Issac stood up from his chair and rushed to Manuel's room with a rage that wasn't allowed for any man.

Lucy immediately followed behind him cussing herself for marrying such an asshole. By the time she got there her husband was already banging on the door.

"Will you stop that." She screamed. But Isaac didn't listen he didn't even acknowledge her presence.

"Open this door Manuel or I'll break it down." Isaac shouted. "You stubborn brat. We told you not to paint!"

Sarah and her brother Arthur couldn't stand the screaming anymore. "Why is dad angry." Sarah asked crying. Her tiny voice and weakness getting on Arthur's nerves. Arthur looked at his sister angrily.

"Why the hell are you crying." He asked holding her wrist tight. "You annoy me." He growled at her.

"Cause dad is angry." Sarah flinched. She was scared of her brother. He hurts her.

"He is always angry." Arthur replied. "Let's go and see." He said pulling her to the passage. They stood by the door way watching all that was happening. Isaac kept on screaming.

"He is asleep let him be." Lucy shouted for the umpteenth time. Her voice was hoarse from so much shouting and she was already fed up. She tried pushing him away from the door but he pushed her down with ease. His hands contacting with her Cheek in a heavy blow.

Manuel was no longer sleeping who could sleep with all that noise. He was now awake and he had covered his ears drowning the voice of his angry father. He was determined not to open the door and to wait for his father to leave. He knew the fate that awaited him should he open the door.  But  then his mother's screams turned off his defenses and tore through his soul. He had no choice than to face his fears.

He rushed to open the door hating himself for causing pain to his mother. His father who was surprised when he finally opened the door couldn't act immediately. He never expected Manuel to come out.

Manuel rushed to where his mother lay on the floor blood gushing from her split lips. He wanted to scream at his father but then he laid his head on his mothers bosom and listened to her heartbeat. It gave him joy. His father dragged him away his hands under his shoulders. He pushed him to the wall and screamed at his face. "Never you paint again!" His scream was so gut wrenching the house shook. Manuel could have sworn that he saw a demon.

Manuel couldn't speak his voice was drowned with fear he only could nod, Hoping His father would let him go and he did. Manuel fell on the floor gasping for air as he watched his father go into the room and locked his door behind him.
