10 Beginning the Initial Link

Attached to the sword was a bag.

Zhou Tao ripped it off and opened it. Inside it were 10 Drehell, coins which were each worth 10000 Hellion. Drehell were the highest form of Hellish Currency.

But to Zhou Tao, they were supposedly the Hellion.

'Why is there only 10? Isn't there supposed to be 100,000? Is this a scam?'

Zhou Tao asked himself. But he decided not to question any further.

Even if it was a scam, he just needed to establish the Initial Link. If there wasn't any raw Qi, then he would be angry. But at the moment, he hadn't the power to back up his rage, so he couldn't do anything, even then.

Zhou Tao pulled out a handful of Drehell. He then inserted one coin into his mouth. This was how to establish the Initial Link. He broke down the outer layer of the coin and suddenly felt it get a lot softer.

It was raw Qi.

Zhou Tao had established the foundation.

With this link, he could truly begin cultivating!

He then remembered something.

The flying sword! It was still present. He used <Mental Comprehension> and located the energy source. His hands gripped the invisible flying sword. Without further ado, Zhou Tao practised the first form of <Monkey King Sword Technique>, a simple slash in the vertical downwards direction. He felt the raw Qi inside him burst and grow. He pulled it into his Qi Aperture. To successfully open the Qi Aperture, one had to fill it with raw Qi. Once enough raw Qi had been packed into the Aperture to form a spiritual animal, the Qi Aperture was opened. The spiritual animal formed by the raw Qi would then become one's spirit beast.

This determined what Path you could choose.

There are five main spirit beasts, each corresponding to a different Path.

The lion, corresponding to the Path of the Mage, requiring focus on the Qi Aperture.

The tiger, corresponding to the Path of the King, requiring focus on the Strength Aperture.

The snake, corresponding to the Path of the Mental Cultivator, requiring focus on the Mental Aperture.

The cheetah, corresponding to the Path of the Flash, requiring focus on the Speed Aperture.

The human, corresponding to the Free Path. 90% of all cultivators will get this. The Free Path allows them to choose any Paths created by great cultivators, not by the cultivation system itself. Unless you have some innate uniqueness, you won't get this.

'Even a prodigy like Heavenly Island's Deep Sea will probably just end up with the Free Path. Even I, the Demonic Sovereign, ended up with it. In the end, I chose to create my own path, the Demonic Path.' Zhou Tao thought to himself.

He then remembered something. He pulled out the Qi Acceleration potion and drank it.

With the <Monkey King Sword Technique> and the Qi Acceleration potion, Zhou Tao could open his Qi Aperture even before Song Yao came.
