The guards were frightened guards at the strength that Colt displayed as he should just be a normal miner but he somehow has a cultivation stronger than them, even thought in the outside world the cultivators in sects can even finish the Qi refining stage and start cultivating in the Body forming stage at 12 years old, there are even some geniuses that could finish the Qi refining at 10 years old.

All the kids in the kingdom do their element test when they are at least 8 years old, when Colt finished his test the tester just shook her head slightly, the tester was an old hag with some teeth growing out of her mouth, before that his mom had an excited face but after she saw the tester's face her face turned to disappointment when she looked at her son.

"Child can you go out for a second I need to talk to your mom" the old hag told Colt to go out while pointing at the door, Colt looked at his mother, when she nodded at him he took his leave.

"I know you need money for the debts, your son was the only chance you had but he doesn't have any talent in cultivating so what are you going to do now?" the old hag seemed to know Colt's mom.

"I...I don't know!" Colt's mom seemed lost.

"What about the deal that I gave you?"

"I am not going to sell you my kid!" Colt's mom had a frustrated face as she couldn't believe what she just heard.

"It's either your son or all of your family"

"Uhh… but…" The mom seemed hesitating as she finally started thinking about it.

"and on top of it he is going to work on Yarison's mine it's one of the safest mines for having cultivators as guards, and they get their meals right after finishing work"

The old hag didn't stop complementing the mine as she wanted to make sure that she gets this done, since she goes to Yarison from time to time to get and they pay 1 gold coin if you sell the mine a slave, she promised to give the mom 25 silver which means she would get 75 silver profit.

Colt couldn't believe what he just heard as he tried to move closer the sound of his feet in the ground emitted, " I am not selling you my child" when the mom heard that sound she knew that Colt is listening and she shouted at the old hag while also winking at her, the old hag had a big grin at her face as she turned around and went inside the store, Colt thought they heard him at first, but they didn't have a reaction ' they didn't hear me' he said with a warm smile as his mom's answer was just warming to him, she didn't want to sell her child even after all the debts they are in, so after making sure of that Colt went home.

The old hag went out from the inside of the store as she met with Colt's mom again and handed 25 silver to her, "I expect you to get him to me tomorrow" the old hag said smiling.

"Okay" Colt's mom had watery eyes as she thought of what she just did, but this old hag was known for her fieriness and she knew if she declined it now she is probably going to get killed so she accepted and went home.

When she got in Colt came running to her and hugged "you didn't sell me, I love you!" Colt said smiling to her innocently, she nodded slightly with a smile, but her tears couldn't hold on as they started flowing out, "what's wrong mom, is it because of the test? I swear I will become strong and revenge the people who done this to us!" Colt thought that she was sad as he didn't have any talent in cultivating.

"No… no it's nothing, let's go I am going to make us food" Colt's mom said as she wiped off her tears.

"Okay!"Colt went to the living room, all the furniture was pierced through as if it was in a war, a small table was in the middle, it's legs had shattered clothes over them, in the right of the table was a limbless man that is 47 years old but the white hear all over his face made him look way older than that, he was sleeping but when Colt walked in he woke up" Colt how did the test go" the man had a smile but his face wasn't excited as if he knew the answer already.

"I failed" Colt sighed slightly

"It's okay, just remember one thing Colt you can shape your life the way you want, and you should defeat anyone that gets in your way!" the man seemed to care about his child even more than the mother.

"Uhm okay" Colt nodded with a smile.

Colt went to sit on the ground opposite to his father, after moments his mom brought them dinner which was bread with some sauce inside of it which made the bread actually edible, after eating and sleeping Colt woke up to find himself getting picked up by a city guard to a slave cart, but what made him angry was that his mother and the old hag were right infront of him.

"You sold me?" Colt's eyes got watery

"I am sorry…" colt's mom said.

"You bitch after all what you said yesterday you still sold me to this whore?" Colt lost his cool as he started cursing everyone, the old hag got a bit mad but she eased up as she thought that he is going to live hell in the mines especially that he is an 8 years old child.

"I swear that I will come back and you will all see hell for betraying me!!"Colt was screaming with all his might, the old hag ignored him and she went to the front of the cart and soon the cart started marching towards Yarison city as Colt didn't stop cursing until it was dawn, he got beat up several times but they didn't go harsh on him since the 1 gold that the old hag is going to get might decrease due to the harm that is inflicted on Colt.

And that night is when Colt Kedel removed his family name from his name as it became Colt!
