7 First Class, Potions

Zephyr decides to get some rest before the morning. In which he sleeps as the sun beams through the windows hitting his eyes as he slowly gets up before yawning. "This is going to be a long day." Zephyr said to himself as he got off of his bed as he took a bath and got dressed. (No clue how their mornings go so just making stuff up.)

"I will need to strengthen this body to allow it to become more magic resistant but also to build stamina so I can fight better in duels if I wish to conceal my abilities." Zephyr thought. He then makes his way to the great hall in which many in Slytherin avoided him as he sat by himself before being joined by Harry and Ron who both had bags under their eyes. "Sleep well?" Zephyr asked.

"No, I just couldn't believe I was here and was up all night." Harry replied as his eyes were still wide open and sparkling despite having no sleep.

"Bloody hell me either, especially with all the rustling coming from Harry's bed." Ron added as he sat down and began to eat although hesitant with a look of disgust at the uniform Zephyr wore. To which Harry did not notice and began to eat too.

"Suppose I should fix his prejudice too while I'm here. However, I suppose me being in Slytherin will help slightly." Zephyr thought as he then began to eat too.

They all finished to which Harry and Ron quickly rushed to class while Zephyr had a free period so he decided to head to the library. He simply picked up a book on potions and began to read. If one was to look closely at Zephyr they would see a cyan magic circle inside his pupil. This magic circle allowed Zephyr to strengthen his reading and memorization abilities.

"Too bad, I need to reach tier 2 to be able to strengthen my mind, it would take a while though considering I do not have any materials and I need to make an array to absorb more mana. The only reason I could reach tier one in one night was because the previous Zephyr had unconsciously been absorbing mana and had acquired enough to begin to make a magic circle. Luckily I took over his body otherwise I would be stuck with a crude tier one magic circle that is no where near as effective as the magic circles I can create as a foundation and would hinder making future magic circles maybe even stopping growth at a certain magic circle." Zephyr thought as he continued to read.

An hour later Zephyr had finished around 10 books which was but a drop in the ocean as he stared at the many books around him. He realised it was nearly time for class so he began to make his way there.

A few steps away from class he spotted Harry and Ron, "Harry, Ron!" Zephyr called as he walked over to the two.

As they entered they saw a few students already present noticeably, Hermione and Malfoy. Zephyr before taking a seat walked up to the cupboard and took the half blood prince book and hid it unnoticed by all those around him as they dismissed it as Zephyr forgetting his textbook.

"The only reason I am taking this book as it has notes of how to better make potions and was by Snape himself. This will allow me to further study potions as potions in this world are fundamentally the same as the previous world I was in but since there are different ingredients I would need to learn potions over again by this worlds ingredients but If I find similar properties I will be able to create a magic potion once again to allow me to reach tier 2 faster." Zephyr thought as he then walked towards the trio.

He then took his seat besides Hermione with Harry and Ron on the opposite side of her. The room was slightly hot with a small fog surrounding the room an entrancing atmosphere with the dim lighting.

The door then swung open with the familiar professor Snape making his dramatic entrance announcing "There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few..."

As he stares over to Malfoy before continuing "Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." To which everyone could hear the sound of Harry writing on his paper to which Snape makes his way over and said "Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not pay attention!"

This made Hermione nudge Harry which got his attention as he looked towards Snape and Snape asked "Mister Potter. Our new celebrity. Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

Harry was silent as he did not know while Hermione's hand shot up with Zephyr raising his own hand. To which Snape responds "You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?"

Harry responds "I don't know, sir."

Snape asked, "And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?

Harry one again replied "I don't know, sir."

Snape disappointedly commented "Pity. Clearly, fame isn't everything, is it, Mr. Potter?"

"Clearly Hermione Knows." Harry commented fiercely.

Snape then leans down and continued "For your information Potter, Asphodel and Wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of the Living Death, a Bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for Monkshood and Wolfbane, they are the same plant which also goes by the name of Aconite. Well, why aren't you all copying this down?"

This made everyone begin to write down what Snape had said onto their paper as Snape made his way back to his desk. He then announced "5 points will be taken from Gryffindor...for your classmate cheek."

"That was intense as it was in the movie "Zephyr thought to himself smiling as he took down the notes.

Ron then whispered to Harry "That was intense."

"I know, also Hermione how did you know what all of that was?" Harry asked Hermione.

"Clearly I study unlike you." Hermione replied as she turned back to her book where she continued to make notes.

(Don't remember much besides this scene so yea)

"Don't worry about it, we have flying class after lunch I'm sure you will be better at that." Zephyr said.

"Flying?" Harry asked.

"Don't worry you will see what I mean after lunch." Zephyr replied as he too turned back to making notes but instead he was merely highlighting parts in the half-blood prince book.

Class then ended with all the students leaving and Zephyr, Harry, Ron and Hermione making their way to the great hall for lunch.

A/N: I have recently started reading the books and I have a lot of work to do so that's why releasing chapters have been slow but either way hope you enjoyed this chapter and look forward to the next one!

Now for information including the magic system;

Now for the magic system for Zephyr the magic circles will be from 1-10. He builds a magic circle, tier 1, as the base and slowly layers on top of that and each time he builds a new magic circle in which will take time as he needs to gather mana and resources he will break through. I don't want to make it so that Zephyr can reach tier 5 or 10 within the first year or that would just be stupid and too op. That is another reason why I proposed adding another reincarnator into the mix who will join the second year, I will do the other reincarnators POV for when they die and then enter the Harry Potter world but that's it. I will not do the other reincarnators POV for anything past that although occasionally. This will cause the main character to actually have conflict in the story besides canon and thus take longer to be so overpowered.

The magic of the Harry Potter world I have explained in the tier one chapter here's a brief overview:

People grow stronger with their body by simply practicing which builds up their control over magic and instinctively builds a magic circle. Their bodies will naturally absorb magic and make them stronger and builds the magic circle for them. However, it is extremely limited and cannot compare to actually building you own magic circle. It makes their control stronger along with their bodies and practicing spells strengthens this.

Because Zephyr 's magic is different to the potter verses it will be near impossible for them to detect his strength for those wondering. Zephyr will master normal Harry Potter spells and abilities such as wandless magic, Legilimency, Occlumency, and become an Animagus among other things. While also fathering his magic abilities with his own magic and creating new ideas.

Also, I think I should make the ideas I talked about earlier more clear. The other reincarnator will be from earth and will have a wish/wishes (undecided) in which the main character Zephyr will not know who they are but will figure out that the other person is also a reincarnator as they are not from the main story. In which it will be the same way for Zephyr in which the reincarnator will know Zephyr is a reincarnator but doesn't know anything about him. They can be rivals, enemies or even lovers but not sure yet as may just scrap the other reincarnator idea.
