At the center of the barrier, something appeared. It was like an orb of light. Slowly, the light took form and became a scroll. On the scroll, something was written. Athena read it.
'To she, the one who fate desires'
'And he who fails to change'
'The one who will quench the fire'
'And the one who'll bear with heaven's rage'
After reading this, Athena felt that these four lines of 28 words seemed to contain a story of a million words... What these meant and what it had to do with her, she really didn't know.
Once she was done reading, the scroll vanished again. In place of that was..... a silver dagger.
It came in front of her and stopped.
Don't know what happened, but looking at the dagger, Athena felt a strange urge to touch it. Her hand moved against her will and reached out for it. Just before she could come in contact with it...
"Don't touch it!!!!"
The hypnotizing and magnetic scream of the white haired man came over. But it was too late. Her finger had already touched the dagger. It made a slight cut on her finger and one drop of blood came out and fell of top of it.
At that moment, a blinding light came out of the dagger and a gust of wind followed after. Suddenly, Athena felt an agonizing pain all over her body. It was like a thousand needles were penetrating through her skin. Her face paled and her body shook.Fortunately, the scrutinizing pain lasted for a few moments before it dissipated along with the blue barrier and she was back at the road.
While she was still in a daze, the expression of the white haired man was terrifying as he looked at her. His fists were clenched tightly and his whole body exuded a murderous aura.
Sensing the aura, Athena came back to herself. Only then did she notice that her pendant had vanished from her neck. What was even more surprising was that a tattoo with a floral pattern had appeared on the back of her left hand!
Athena's eyes were opened wide. Right now, she couldn't feel anymore. Her surprise had reached it's limit. She simply gaped at the tattoo.
She didn't notice that the white haired man had taken off his glove. His fair jade-like hand appeared and on it was the same floral pattern as the one Athena had. She saw that as well.
"What…..what was that?" Athena mumbled to herself blankly as she looked at the tattoo.
Why did they have the same tattoo?
Who was he?
What had happened to her?
And where was her pendant?
These numerous questions swelled up inside her. Just as she wanted to ask,
"Ha"
She heard a cold snicker. She looked up at the man and met with his menacing glare.
"To steal the heart and soul of Acknologia and make a contract with it, You sure do court death." he said with a chilling voice and angrily turned around.
Acknologia? Heart and soul? contract?
Athena couldn't understand what he meant, she finally asked.
"Acknologia? What's that? And what happened to my pendant? and this tattoo? Just....just who are you?!"
Unfortunately, the man didn't bother to answer her. He walked in the opposite direction and pointed his finger to the front. A beam of light come out and a wide portal opened up! The portal was pitch black and was swirling like waves. The man moved and disappeared into the portal.
Seeing the man leaving, Athena anxiously yelled "Wait!" and ran after the man. She had a billion questions, how could she just let him go?
But then, an invisible force suddenly pulled her and she fell straight inside the portal!
