2 Reincarnating

In a place far away from the major cities of the Demon Plane, was a burnt village. All the grass in and surrounding the small village were burnt black along with slightly burned remains of the houses. There were also charred corpses, most which you couldn't recognize at all, some even looked like just one big bunch of ashes.

Rubble was laid about everywhere. Underneath one of those rubble piles, were a pair of bodies laid on top of each other. One of them was unrecognizable with its body parts bent in directions that weren't supposed to be possible and a scorched back. It was covering the body underneath it tightly which was a body that seemed to be only 10 to 11 years old which you wouldn't be able to tell was there due to its small stature and thin body.

It was obvious that the woman had tried to shield her from the falling pieces that broke off the roof pf the house. Luckily, the body had no signs of being burned at all. She had soft white hair, pointed ears and a black tail sectioned like bone. Her eyes were tightly shut and there were no signs of breathing from her, making it seem as if the woman's sacrifice had been in vain.

But all of a sudden, the girl's hand jerked slightly and her chest started heaving up and down weakly. Her eyes then proceeded to flutter open ever so slightly, revealing a pair of odd-colored eyes. The left one was of a calm and gentle amber while the right was a sky blue that felt as vast and free as the skies themselves. If you tried staring into them, although beautiful, you would feel a sense of the unfathomableness in them. Their thoughts would be a mystery and it was if the Abyss itself was staring back to you.

She tried sitting up, which made the debris piled on top of her slide off. She tried shoving the body off her, although it took a lot of effort with her frail and thin arms.

"Where... is this place?" The girl looked around the devastated village. The last thing Lunaria remembered was attempting to plead to her Suzerain to either go back to the past or to send her a thousand years in the future to get her revenge against that DAMN HERO!

She was the Demon Lord of Envy, one of the 8 Demon Lords of the Kaiserreich Empire. She was also one of the 3 founding Demon Lords together with their leader, Wrath, and Pride (Leo). If it wasn't for that damn traitor, she probably would be busy envying the Mid Plane's expansive range of foliage.

She stood up and tried looking for something to eat or drink because she could tell regardless of what had happened to her, her body needs some nutrients. The more she explored the village, the more she could tell something had happened in this village.

'What terrible had happened here that even bodies of Demons, who had significantly higher resistance against magical or physical attacks?' Luna internally thought. She decided to investigate this matter some other time when she got a hold of her current situation.

She quickly snapped out of her thoughts when she found a river that flowed into the village. A water mill sat beside the river and had a picnic table just outside of it. She excitedly ran to the river and nearly tripped in her excitement before squatting down and to take a sip from the river. She scooped the water with her hands in a fluid motion that showed that she was well used to doing this.

After she drank her fill, she finally took the time to look at her reflection in the river's clear water. She was a bit giddy inside when she found out that she had the same kind of white hair in her past life. White, like bone. This also helped her confirm what subspecies of the Demon race she was. Afterall, "Demon" was the general term used to describe all the races living in the Demon Plane.

The Demon Plane was about 4 times bigger than the Mid Plane, which was basically the same size as Earth. When hearing that, it should be obvious that there would be many more different kinds of climates, terrain, magic fields present in there than the Mid Plane right?

She could affirm that she was an "Abyssal Bone Walker" from her white hair and the black tail that was sectioned like bone. Bone Walkers were originally a race of skeletons that were able to get back their flesh. You might think that would be more disadvantageous to them since having flesh on your body make your body more vulnerable compare to a pile of bones but it was the exact opposite.

Their eyes would be able to carefully process and scrutinize the details of the scene before them in contrast where they could only sense their enemy by searching for their Soul aura. Their ears would be able to detect changes in sound in where they couldn't before. Their perception and intuition would be increased overall and they would have high magic capabilities because that was how they were able to regain bodies in the first place. They also had a race skill called「Bone Magic」that allowed them to manipulate bones, including their tail and to use them as weapons. They also gained the ability to procreate, although their fertility rate was low.

Abyssal Bone Walkers were basically a stronger version with that. They could also use their race skill, 「Soul Magic」and an upgraded version of「Bone Magic.」Although there weren't that many differences between an Abyssal Bone Walker and a n ormal one in terms of racial characteristics, you could tell of they were an Abyssal one if their tail was black. Although that was the conclusion she came to, she couldn't understand one thing. 'What is it with this gold-colored eye?'

「The eye is the gateway to the soul.」

A bone walker's eye color reflected their personality from the kind of soul they had. If it was pink, they could be a person that loves to love or is very girly. If it was red, that person could be hot-headed or very bloodthirsty. If it was blue, they could be ac calm person or a sorrowful one. They all differed depending on their color's shade.

Luna used to have gold because she would usually be a very cheerful person. She would just get really irritated if she had to fight against enemies. Especially if they think that they're some kind of great person even if they aren't.

But Bone Walkers would never have any kind of differently colored eyes. So she assumed that maybe she was a hybrid of an Abyssal Bone Walker and some other race. Another thing she found odd was that there were two diamond-shaped tattoos on both of her hands.

Her left hand had a white diamond with a black cross inside of it while her right hand had a black diamond with a white cross in it. Although the secrets of her true race weren't completely uncovered, she decided to leave it for another time and instead deal with her Suzerain that somehow appeared behind her back.
