9 Goblin Child

Early morning of the next day, we had our protagonists continue walking on their way to the capital. They also had the wolf meat from last night made barbequed and put them onto skewers for fast eating.

They were still following the same dirt road from before, Luna had asked why wasn't it a yellow brick road and Noel simply told her that it was because they weren't adventuring to find a wizard named Oz.

While they were on the brick-- I mean, dirt road they found a child passed out on the road. When the two observed the body further, they realized it wasn't a child. It was a「Goblin.」

The Goblin had light green skin and its height only reached to an adult human's height. In contrast to most legend made in the human world, it was really cute.

It had bandages woven around its tiny arms and was wearing a shirt one size too big on him. He had squishy cheeks and long pointed ears, although not as long as elven ears.

Luna was thinking of leaving behind the little goblin in the case that it may be a bandit trap but Noel assured her that it wasn't. She had a feeling that she lost a lot of compassion the moment she put the eye patch over her gold eye.

She decided to put the matter at the back of her head together with the burnt village and non-colorless grass. Noel made soul energy converge within his palm and bit by bit, a carriage started forming.

He did this because his soul type was「Greed.」It was also known as the most versatile magic type in the Demon Plane. Greed worked by having a persons' soul energy envelop an object and then consume it. From thereon forth, that person would be able to replicate that object.

This only worked if you had more soul energy than that object and if you had enough soul energy to reproduce that object. After all, you can't make things out of thin air. Greed magic probably wouldn't be able to exist in the Mid Plane though.

Mostly due to the Mid Plane having a different kind of soul energy in its environment and it had a different system of Magic. Because of that, the majority of Greed-type users were mostly found in the Demon Plane. After all, they wouldn't be able to recharge their soul reserves in the Mid Plane.

And although Greed users seemed omnipotent, that wasn't the case. If they became too 'Greedy', their body would explode because of it. Yup, just explode. Noel wasn't exempt from this rule. In fact, he had only absorbed a total of 3 things. Divine Lightning from a Lightning God, Losform metal that could be freely formed to the users will(Uses up the user's soul energy though), and a carriage for when he didn't want to use his pocket dimension.

Her kind of magic, Envy, was a lot more simple in comparison to Greed. Envy magic was similar to Summoning magic in games. The most common thing you would summon were snakes. It also mainly focused on curses and debuffs to their target.

It was great for crowd control and had its uses in 1v1 combat. The bluish black flames she used a lot in her past life and now were also something akin to a sub-branch in Envy magic. She did it by focusing all the hatred and jealousy she had for her targets into different forms made out of raging flames that would persist until the target either dies or gives her what she wants.

While Luna was once again, lost in her thoughts, Noel had already put her and the goblin child in the carriage and pulled out a black horse with blue flames for a mane and started heading to the nearest city.

When Tsu'ro woke up, he was on a nice and fluffy bed, majorly contrasting against the hay ones he was used to in his village. What covered him was a blanket made out of「Thunder Sheep」which were soft and fluffy compared to the「Roughskinned Boar」pelts he grew to appreciate.

When he rose up from the bed reluctantly, his beady yellow eyes met with a girl sitting to the left side of the bed. The girl had soft white hair and had some of was tucked behind with the help of two black clips, revealing her snow-white pointed ears which had a blue diamond-shaped earring hanging from it.

She was wearing a black flared dress, showcasing her slender legs. She stared at him with her golden orbs that hinted curiosity towards him.

"Hello, Little Goblin. My name is Lunaria Satanas von Avyssos." She had a playful smile on her face that showcased her canines and had her tail that was sectioned like bone waving around in excitement.

When Tsu'ro saw that tail, he felt fear and awe at the same time. Everyone regardless of their race was taught about the 3 Imperial Races in Kaiserreich. They were ones which you should never cross.

The first one were the Ancestral Vampires, now called Evernight Vampires. They are an incredibly rare breed of「Vampires」and were basically immortal. Their defining traits were their blood-red eyes and pitch black hair.

The second one were the Skylarks. It was more like never steal from them. They are all a greedy bunch of bastards and if you do, they will either cut you into a thousand pieces with their raging winds or fry you into a roast demon.

And lastly, the Abyssal Bone Walkers. They weren't immortal but wouldn't die unless you destroyed their soul. It didn't matter to them if they lost their flesh because they weren't supposed to have it to begin with and they could use their Bone Magic to manipulate you in the cruelest ways ever possible.

They all said they were cold-blooded and heartless killers. But... When Tsu'ro looked at that innocent face smiling at him, he couldn't help but think of the stories to be false.

Luna experimented with the eye patch while Tsu'ro (she found his name embroidered on the bottom of his shirt) was still asleep. If she put it over her left eye, she would think more logically and if she put it over her right eye, it was easier for her to convey and read emotions.

She decided to put it over her right eye for now since she thought that it would be better to make the child think he was safe by making me look naive.

"Oooh..."

And he's awake.
