Luna's previous enthusiastic self was quickly deflated like a balloon. Although Noel thought it pained him slightly to see someone he considered his sister like that, he knew he should be the responsible person.
Because Luna would always go back to being a child whenever she reincarnated. It would usually stay that way until she hits 14. As for why that's the case, Noel didn't know yet.
"Okay, we are currently 1000 years in the future from the last time you were here."
"Yeah."
"Many things have changed over the course of the years. Although some superior demon bloodlines have lifespans reaching 1000 years, the most a normal one can reach would be about half of that."
"Although the Kaissereich Empire has been able to make many technological advancements, the military discipline and strength had declined due to all of the 7 Demon Lords who didn't betray the Empire dying at the hands of humanity's Hero."
"Wait, they all died?"
"Oh yeah, you got stabbed first so you probably don't know. The Hero saw Pride kill Merilyn and went into 'Super-Duper-OP-Harem-Protagonist-Rage-Mode' on them and killed them all. He at least died though.'

'At least I can be the one to kill him' Luna thought. If he didn't die back then, then he will now! She ended paying more attention after this.
"Our first goal will be to reach Brackwater City. Which is the closest major city here and is just some kilometers north. We'll go there to register identities, get supplies and then infiltrate the capital and get accepted into the Imperial Academy so we can regroup with another Suzerain and Disciple pair."
"There's another pair here?"
"Yeah, one of the other reasons why I just directly reincarnated you is because I received a formal request to do something here."
"When do I get to do quests?"
"When you turn 14 in this world."
Luna felt extremely excited upon hearing his words. Because whenever she would ask the same question to him before, he would say: "When you die." She thought that the reason for waiting until she was 14 was because that was the age where she would act calmer. She has no idea why she's like this though.
Noel casually opened a vortex in space and it automatically sucked everything they used before closing by itself. They then proceeded to walk towards Brackwater City which was about an hour's walking distance.

The duo was currently standing on top of a giant stone wall. The giant stone wall covered a city inside it in a circular manner. There was a moat running between the wall and the other side. There were four drawbridges that were located at the north, south, west and east parts of the city. There were metal gates that served as the entrance to the city.
As for why the duo was currently on top of that stone wall. It was because at some point in time where they had not even walked for a minute that Luna had started running. You would think that being in a body that had just suffered from a disaster of some kind that she shouldn't be in such a state do strenuous activities.
Nope, this is why Demon races are so great! Not only do they have great physical abilities and magical abilities, depending on the quality of one's 「Soul」, one could have a lot of more advantages.
The 「Soul」is the core of every single living being. Whether it be an animal, a human, a demon or any other race on the three planes. Soul quality was divided into 4 simple categories. 「Incomplete」,「INFERIOR!!!」, 「Meh」and 「Immortal.」As for why they were named like that, that was because all the higher authorities were too lazy to come up with proper names.
「Incomplete」souls were mostly found in plant life. They were incomplete because they weren't able to make any memories due to their fragmented soul and... the fact that their bodies aren't capable of such things.
「INFERIOR!!!」souls can be found in animals and monsters. They usually have limited thought and have the potential to upgrade their soul quality to 「Meh」if they try hard enough. 「Meh」souls are the souls of beings capable of rational thought, such as humans, elves, dwarves, demons and etc.
Immortal souls were already explained so we'll skip that. Basically, depending on the quality of your Soul, your magic would be more powerful and you would be able to enhance your physical abilities for a certain period of time. The duration period depended on how much「Soul Energy」you had.
Soul Energy was measured by the unit called well... Souls. As for how much a person's Soul had, we'll discuss that another time. Back to being on a stone wall.
"Noel..."
"What?"
"I regret it."
"Regret what?" Noel was confused at what she said. Did she regret jumping on top of the stone wall? Did she regret her decisions in some past life? Or... Did she regret becoming his Disciple? Noel suddenly started getting scared by his own thoughts.
"Not going through the front gate."

"I thought you were no longer scared of heights? After all, although seldomly used them, you did have wings in your last life. You even sometimes flied with them."
"Yeah, SELDOM."
Noel got her point and then helped her down the giant wall. As for why they jumped on it in the first place, that was because they didn't have nay identification papers. This was why they were going here in the first place.

In the marketplace of Brackwater City, was a pair of siblings, the younger one was a girl and the older one was a boy. They both seemed to be of the Abyssal Bone Walker race with their white hair and black tails. But what was weird was that the younger sibling's left eye was a beautiful amber and her right one was a mysterious blue. As for the older one, his messy white hair was covering his left eye and he had a half-face gas mask on him.
The girl was wearing a black flared dress with frills and a pair of black gladiator sandals that reach until her thigh.. The guy was wearing a dark grey coat with black trimmings and had black combat boots on his feet. They would normally be looked at with awe since they were both extremely cute and cool but were instead met with stares of disgust and hatred.
"That eye... she must be an Illborn."
"The brother is also probably one. That's why his hair covering his other eye."
"All Illborns should just go and die."
Luna was startled by their gazes and had no idea what they were talking about. "Don't mind them." That's all Noel had told her. He will probably tell her later.
