Chapter 1: Planning the Assassination (1)

The vast land of Chen Xie Town glitter under the piercing rays of the sun. Locals mind their business and few Daoists entered or left the establishments; they came to sell, exchange, or buy pills, weapons, and herbs.

The Town of Chen Xie had its name from the two overlords reigning this small region. Namely the Chen and Xie. They are other clans within the town, but their power simply couldn't match the Chen and Xie, for they were the branch clan of Supreme Xie Family and Supreme Chen Family of the Royal Kingdom.

At this moment, a man with a bamboo hat step inside the gate of Chen Xie Town. His black clothes and almost undetectable aura didn't attract attention. He gently touches his hat, lowered his head, and heeded to the Rainbow Spring Restaurant.

Rainbow Spring Restaurant was one of the influential and one of the thriving businesses of the Xie Clan. Every day, rogue Daoists would dine on this place, and the Chen Xie clans' silk pants and scion would gather almost daily at the highest floor, flirting with women and drinking alcohols. The income of Rainbow Spring Restaurant had even made bandits drool with jealousy, but they were not stupid enough to go against the Xie Clan. That is simply courting death.

After the man with a bamboo hat entered the restaurant, he swept his gaze and saw that there are already people sitting on tables. He touches his hat, head to the second floor, and sat near the window.

From this seat, he could see the land of Chen. Chen Estate was huge with ferocious-looking men guarding the entrance. At this moment, a luxurious dressed young man walk out the entrance, both of his sides were two elderly men wearing a black dress.

"Young Master, do we really have to head to the Xie Clan to forge alliance? Although the journey would be a danger, its' more dangerous with them around. Xie and Chen have been competing for decades after all." One of the black-clothed elders beside the luxurious dressed young man stated.

"Man A, you don't understand. With them around, the danger would be lowered, and the chance of benefiting to that tomb is high. After we leave that place, there would be no more Xie on this town."

This luxurious dressed young man was named Chen Wuxian, the young master of Chen Xie Town' Chen Clan. As for the two elders beside him, they were his protectors.

Chen Wuxian was simply too lazy to remember these insignificant people, so he just named them Man A and Man B.

"So Young Master intended to seek false alliance and kill them after the business is done?" Man B pointed out.

"Not bad. Man A, you have to learn from Man B. " Chen Wuxian smiled at Man B and entered the carriage.

Man A replied "Yes Young Master" as he glanced at Man B with a hint of jealousy. Man B ignored Man A's gaze as he also entered the carriage, Man A followed suit.

"Hmm?" Man A stopped on his track. He swept his gaze to his surroundings and, to the tall establishments around them.

Just now...Was someone spying on us?

Man A frowned and entered the carriage.

"Man A. What's wrong?" Chen Wuxian asked. He was sipping a tea when he saw Man A entered with a frown on his face.

"I felt like someone was spying on us." Man A respectfully answered.

"Old Qing, you truly did have a problem on your head. What would they benefit from spying on Young Master?"

"You!" Man A looked at Man B before sitting beside him with anger. He did sense something amiss when he entered the carriage, but the person retracted his sense, so he didn't catch who the person spying on them was. Without proof, he could only shut his mouth.

Chen Wuxian nodded his head and no longer spoke. He took note of Man A's's words, after all this old man though not good as Man B he has a good instinct.

Soon after, the carriage started moving, heading towards the direction of the Xie Clan.

All the people on road made a path when this carriage gracefully pass. As for the man with the bamboo hat, he withdrew his gaze on the carriage and lowered his head. "I've done covering up all my traces and made myself a new identity. Starting this moment, I'll start my revenge. It's been twenty years, but I'd never forgotten that day. Chen Jiyu, Mu Tian, Chen Clan, wait for me...I'll slaughter you with my hands."

Right. This man wearing a bamboo hat was Tian Hu. After that unfortunate day, as soon as Tian Hu woke up, he was welcomed by a bloody sky, a ruined village, and corpses littered on the ground.

He remembered what had transpired and desperately searched for survivors, and morning arrived, but he found none. All dead in gruesome, unjust death!

Tian Hu didn't know what he was feeling that day. By the time he sobered up, five years already passed, and he had been wandering various cities and towns while hiding his identity during that years.

Only after the next five years he joined a group of Tomb Raiders - who raided tombs that origins are unknown - did Tian Hu saw hope.

Because he had acquired a heaven-defying treasure after clearing a dangerous tomb that caused a lot of cultivators to perish!

Acquiring that treasure, Tian Hu leaped into the dragons' gate. After ten years with that treasure, Tian Hu learned a lot and built a lot. It could be said he was no longer the powerless Tian Hu...

He had undergone rebirth!

After a few moments, a waiter came to his table to ask for orders. Tian Hu ordered a drink and waited. Soon, the waiter returned with brewed Sweet Sapling Tea.

Tian Hu waved his hand, and the waiter respectfully bowed to the esteemed immortal before he leaves. Then, Tian Hu took a sip of the tea and closed his eyes. 'Per the client's request, Xie Yu, the young master of Chen Xie Town' Xie Clan, have to die. This is a good opportunity for me to kill two birds with one stone. I have to think about it carefully. 'Should I just wait for an opportunity?' Tian Hu dismissed that thought while gritting his teeth. 'Every member of Chen Clan has to die! I'll use this opportunity to borrow a hand and let them deal with this branch clan of Chen!'

Tian Hu nodded his head. His plan seems plausible, though he needed to come up with a good strategy first.

Aside from being a tomb raider, Tian Hu had another identity— Assassin. He built an assassination consultant office in the city of Flying Feather, northeast of this Chu Xie Town. He'd hid his office carefully, and only a few people knew about its existence. After five years of running his office, its existence remains hidden, but clients who came to issue an assassination had all been dealt with without mishap.

Hence, though it remains mysterious in the public eyes, Tian Hu still has clients one or twice a month. Of course, he only accepts a mission that he thinks worth accepting.

For instance, the reason Tian Hu accepted this task was that Xie Yu had a bad reputation. He'd defiled many girls. Most of them were minors, and they ended up dead. His crimes were ignored. After all, this was Chen Xie Town. It doesn't have a City Lord. The Xie Clan and Chen Clan were both the ones managing this town.

After pondering for five minutes, Tian Hu thought of a good strategy. He was not hundred percent sure if this would work, but it's worth a try. Even if he fails, he has confidence escaping as long as they're under Nascent Soul.

With that thought, Tian Hu left a spirit stone to pay for his drink and left the Rainbow Spring Restaurant. His destination heading towards the Xie Estate.
