10 Chapter Ten

Everyone was in panic mode Rina was missing and no one knew why. The group only noticed when Tristen came back from hunting and pointed out Rina's disappearance. Sarah mentioned Rina going to the hot spring and went to go get her only to find a towel.

"Where the hell is she I leave for a couple of hours and she's gone?!" Tristen vented his anger and frustration out on the group.

"Maybe she forgot something in the car and went to go get it?" Michael offered as an explanation.

"That doesn't fucking make sense, she would never leave without telling one of us." Tristen yelled.

"He's right she wouldn't just up and leave like this." Sarah said.

Tristen left without saying another word and ran towards the portal where Rina parked her car on the other side. Michael and Sarah were not far behind. They skidded to a halt at what they saw. Tristen's fist pounded against the portal yet nothing happened.

"Tristen, stop." Sarah yelled.

Both tried to pull Tristen away from the entrance. "You have to stop!" Michael shouted. Tristen flung him off sending him tumbling to the ground.

"Shit! You'll break the treaty if you keep going." Sarah shouted.

Tristen's body went rigid. Panting Sarah backed away and slumped onto a large rock.

"Damn it." she said.

"Why, why would she lock us out?" Tisten whispered.

"You don't know if it was her." Michael said.

"Like hell I don't she the northern heiress, just like I am. We have the authorization to block anyone from entering our border."

"He's not wrong, every Lord and heir can do it." Sarah whispered.

"Shit, wait let me try to get in. I live in the North." Michael said.

The day of the blood rage incident was a strange one. Damien awoke with thunderous emotions running through him. The foreign feeling engulfing him was jarring. He was a demon of few words let alone emotional. Growling he paced in his room.

It was as if he could feel someone else's emotion but whose he did not know. His beast remained silent through the whole experience. The feeling of pain was immediate then sorrow, anger, confusion, and pain again. Suddenly the emotions stopped, then they disappeared all together. When he finished bathing and dressing he walked into his study and called Jakus, his personal servant. There was a hesitant knock on the door before Jakus entered.

"Lord Damien what can this lowly servant do for you?" Jakus asked.

"How long have I been gone from the palace?"At first Jakus looked at Damien strangely but spoke quickly in fear of the glare Damien just sent him.

"About 3 to 4 hours milord." Jakus' voice trembled as he spoke.

"That is all for now, make sure Jesa is fed then sent to bed." Damien commanded.

The human child had been under his care for a few years yet no one outside his private circle knew the demon lord held care for an actual human.

"Yes, Lord Damien." Jakus bowed then scurried out of the office.

As the days passed emptiness was all he felt. He couldn't get rid of this feeling and it bothered him to no end. It felt like a piece of him was gone but he knew not what it was.

Reality came crashing down when her family came home. It was midday when her mother found Rina still in bed. Three weeks passed since the incident occured and she couldn't think of anything, her mind was numb from the outside world.

The only thing she did was eat, sleep, and bathe nothing more. It was like she was on autopilot away from the real world but still holding herself together. But when she woke up to find her mother sitting next to her and gently combing her fingers through her hair. She broke down.

Her burst of emotion caught her mother by surprise and so she told her mother everything that had happened to her but didn't mention who the demon actually was. But the last thing Rina said made her mother even more frightened.

"I think-" Rina sobbed as she tried to finish her sentence.

"Mom I think…I might be pregnant" Rina whispered against Ms. Higurashi's lap. "I still didn't get my period."

"Please just tell me who did this to you. I'll have your uncle imprison him." her mother pleaded.

"No!" Rina sat up. "No one can know, I don't want anyone to know until I'm ready."

"What about your friends?"

"I already took care of that, they can't reach me until I'm ready."

"What if you are pregnant, would you keep it?"

She knew if her daughter was pregnant Rina wouldn't want to get an abortion because the child was also apart of her. She felt helpless; she couldn't protect her only daughter.

"Rina sweetie…does anyone else know?" Rina's mother questioned

"No…I left before anyone could come and I sealed the portal so Tristen won't be able to come through, I can't face him right now or my other friends either. I already told you that."

"I know dear I'm just trying to understand…"

"Mom?"

"Yes dear?"

"Are you mad at me?" Rina hiccupped through her tears.

"No! Rina, don't ever think that. None of this is your fault you didn't ask for this so don't blame yourself!"

"But it was different, he didn't just take me, he made me enjoy…"

She cringed as Rina spoke and bent her head down making sure Rina didn't see her expression.

"Everything that happened isn't your fault, okay? None of it."

"Okay." Rina sniffled and nodded. "Thank you, I really needed that." Rina whispered as she dozed off to sleep again.
