63 Chapter 9 (5): Dealing with Sangen (2)

***** Sangen's PoV because I couldn't write this from the normal one *****

"FUCK! How did she hear about this?" (Sangen)

Did that brat still tell someone, or... Wait... Heh. This is fine, actually. She broke that contract, so that lets me back into her territory, probably. Her majesty should annul the contract, and maybe I'll even get to play with that brat as her punishment... unless it's for a completely different reason. No... Levia stole those documents, but she should be dead by now. Touya will be back in a week or so, I think, so even if she lived and doubled back, she wouldn't have gotten it to the Demon Lord yet. Well, no use thinking about it now, whatever happens, will happen regardless. I don't even know what the Demon Lord looks like, I was out for her coronation. I hear she's got three weddings coming up, which will be her second public appearance. All I know is that she's a very busty young girl with ideas that conflict with my goals and a harem of even bustier young girls. Well, I hear that her harem goes around as a party of adventurers.

The next day, I showed up at the appointed time, to find a girl even younger and better endowed than I'd expected sitting on the throne, with bright gold hair and eyes. With her were four other girls, all extremely busty, but I couldn't see them clearly, because there was a veil between them and us, as was traditional. The only crack in the veil was showing the Demon Lord's throne and the one sitting upon it. While I was observing the room, she spoke.

"I'm sure you have several questions, so I will first answer them, or not, as I see fit. However, I do know what happened in Ferrangnia, and I am sure that's not the only time that it's happened" (Demon Lord)

"How did you hear about the incident, your majesty?" (Sangen)

"I heard about it from someone who was there" (Demon Lord)

"Heh. In that case, a contract she signed has been breached, and thus, this information is not considered valid in any court of law, correct? Read the contract, here" (Sangen)

I handed the contract to an aide, who took it behind the veil for the Demon Lord to read, after he checked it for magic, poison, or other harmful traps.

"Well, there's a problem with that statement. That contract wasn't breached, it still stands. See, I heard about it from the source, but that doesn't mean that the Demon Lord heard about it that way. She was there. Read the name of the one who signed it with you" (Demon Lord?)

The aide handed the contract back to me, and I looked at the name, which read 'Miryuu Maou'... wait, what? That girl was... then... who is this?

"If you're wondering who I am, I'm one of Ryuu's fiancees - that's Miryuu to you. My name is Verene" (Verene)

The annoying girl from that town... the Demon Lord? Uh... That girl stepped out from behind the throne, and sat down on it once Verene vacated it, and then Verene sat on her lap, resting against the silver haired girl's plump bosom.

"Didn't recognise me, did you? Yes, I'm the Demon Lord. This means that the Sangen Corporation can't do business in the demon lands or the human lands anymore, in other words, the Sangen Corporation is no longer in existence, as of now. You're also under arrest for high treason, by the way. I heard about the conspiracy with the church from Levia, who you tried to kill. That's two reasons for you to die. Touya is dead, the rest on a slow march back to the demon lands, and so, you're fucked" (Miryuu)

"Huh? Why can't we do business in the human lands?" (Sangen)

"Wait, that's what you're wondering about? Not... Well, whatever. It's because my wife, one of them, that is, is the third princess. As such, I have a publicly recognised influence over the king, so... with the contract... yeah, you can figure out the rest, right?" (Miryuu)

"I can... Well, if that's everything, I will excuse myself from here, so I can go pack my things and leave for somewhere not under your influence, on another continent or something. I hear Elvengarde is good, if you can handle the elven superiority that's become all but law" (Sangen)

She showed a frosty smile as I spoke, causing me to pale, but I kept speaking. When I finished, I bowed, turned, and left. When I got halfway to the exit, I froze when I heard the words I'd been dreading, each syllable coming like another dagger aimed at my spine.

"Ah-ah-ah... I said you were under arrest for high treason, didn't I? You'll be executed publicly next week, your crimes stated for everyone to hear" (Miryuu)

I ran. I didn't think, I just ran.
