61 Chapter 9 (3): Crashing the party

The first thing we saw upon entering the building was a couple of demons, complete with revealed wings, who were being let through a pair of doors by a demon with hidden wings.

"Welcome... perhaps. Are you demons, or ordinary mortals?" (Guard)

Ver, and I flared our wings while Tuare revealed her horns, and even though Ver wasn't a demon, she could pass for one just based off of the wings, so the guard blinked, then laughed.

"Fair enough. What about the other girls?" (Guard)

"Well, three of the four are my wives, and the fourth is going to be one of my wives" (Ryuu)

"Understood, sir" (Guard)

"Sir? Am I really that flat-chested? Haaa... Whatever. So, may we enter?" (Ryuu)

"Yes... miss?" (Guard)

"Good enough" (Ryuu)

We went in back, down a flight of stairs, and came face to face with Zephiel, someone on the human land's top ten most wanted list, right off the bat. Who would have thought he was a demon? He was guilty of the murder of several hundred people, including the entire family of a duke, as well as burning down several villages. He also was a serial rapist, thief, and more, and he chose to talk to us, his voice disgustingly oily.

"Well, well, well... a group of fine young girls, all new here, and all alone. Would you like me to escort you, or perhaps go into one of the... side rooms, for a bit of music making? Free of charge, just for you" (Zephiel)

"How about not? We can handle ourselves, and, uh... your musical tastes are a bit off key, I think" (Mae)

"You little... you... BITCH. You're dead!" (Zephiel)

He lunged at Mae, but was pulled up short by me, as I had a vice-like grip on his wings. Those in the surroundings looked at us with a mixture of shock and pity, and if it was anyone else, I'd say they had a reason for the latter. As it was, he drew his axe, took a swing at Mae, and I ripped one of his wings off. He fainted in pain, of course, and so we had Mae stand guard over him in a corner, while we looked at the rest of the area. I saw illegal drugs, the sale of cursed weapons, and, of course, the unsanctioned fights, especially as they were to the death. I asked someone who looked like they would know if the fighters were willing participants, and his response was to shove me into the ring, a large pit in the center of the building, and then he laughed, saying that there was no way they all would be. You know... since everyone here is a demon... I walked to the center of the ring, dodging any attacks thrown my way, and I flew up a bit, so everyone could see me. I removed my limiters, and someone official-looking yelled at me.

"Oi! Flying isn't allowed! This is your ONLY warning! Get down there and FIGHT!" (Ref?)

"I think you need to look again. The fight is over. Everyone has fainted or died. Well, besides me. Speaking of me... Anyone recognise me? My aura? Any guesses? No? Well..." (Ryuu)

By that point, I'd looked around and saw that Ver and Char had gotten to be next to each of the exits, so I continued.

"Let me just say this: Under my authority and the authority of my wife, I, Miryuu Maou, declare this to be an illegal establishment, and those within are to submit themselves to the proper authorities or... you can take a nice, long nap and wake up in a cell. This..." (Ryuu)

I continued for a while, but nobody could leave but Haru and Mae, and after about ten minutes, the city guards walked in, arrested everyone, and gave us about a thousand gold coins for the capture of Zephiel and another thousand or so for finding and exposing the operation they'd been looking for for a while, but they couldn't get in to confirm its illegality before having justification for forcing their way in. That was basically the end of our day, and so, bright and early the next day, we headed over to Maw and Paw to pick up Ver's armor. It fit perfectly, had plenty of room to grow, and, when Ver shifted to her human form, it wasn't particularly revealing. I mean, it did still hug her body and display her body, which is surprisingly curvaceous for how young-looking she is, but... that can't be helped. The scale colors were artistically blended, and there were openings on the back for her wings and tail. The dormant form was a simple ring made of miniature dragon scales, or, more accurately, the scales that were on the dragons' eyelids.
