Chapter 4 (4): Orientation
Two days passed, and I woke up at dawn of the day that classes started with Elise on my right while Ver, who'd grown to thrice her original size, was partially lying on my stomach, both of them taking a drink, Elise's massive breasts bared with my arm pinned between them, and my other arm being used as Char's pillow. I gently woke her up, and we left for classes after getting ready. Together, we walked to the large training field where orientation would be held, Ver following us like a loyal puppy.
"Greetings to you forty promising students. You may already know me, but I'm Elizabeth Greywood, the SS rank adventurer in charge of this school. In other words, I'm the headmistress here. Now, I will explain once more how your schedules and classes will be like, introduce the teachers, and then you will go to your respective first classes of the day. There, you will all introduce yourselves, and receive a demonstration of the teacher's skill, as well as have a mock battle with your teacher to allow them to determine what parts of your technique needs work, and to allow your classmates to know what you are capable of" (HM)
The teachers went around to us, handing us our schedules, and then she continued.
"Now, you all hold your schedules. For those of you with a lot of classes... I'm looking at you, Ryuu... I wish you luck. You'll need it, as you'll be in classes from an hour past dawn to maybe three, or in the case of the aforementioned crazy girl Ryuu, five hours past noon. For those of you in the majority, the ones with only one or two classes, you'll be in classes from an hour past dawn to noon, and then will have lessons on how to fight against other types of foes in the afternoon. That building teaches sword, staff, and spear, that one is for most magic, that one for more specialized magics, like healing, spatial, and so on, that building is for archery, dagger, and axe classes, and that one there is the cafeteria, for those who only got here today" (HM)
A large group of men and women walked to stand or sit behind the headmistress, and came forward when called.
"Now, for the teachers, we have some who'd rather just be called by the classes they teach. First, we have the teacher of our classes on the axe, mace, hammer, and so on, Mr Axe" (HM)
"Hello to you all. As you can see, I'm a dwarf, meaning that, while I'm over a hundred years old, I'm still in the prime of my life. Unfortunately, we only have four people in my class, including the crazy Ryuu. I look forward to working with you, save for her. Ryuu, I'm still sore about that trick you used to hit me, so don't expect me to be as nice to you as I am to your classmates. You see, you broke my arm, so I'm going to have to hire some helpers for the practical portions of my classes for a while. For that, you will know hell" (Axe)
"Mr Axe, please remember that you are a teacher, not a drill sergeant. Keep your behavior to those standards, thank you very much. *ahem* Now, we have the teacher of the archery class, Aaron" (HM)
"Greetings to you all. There are nine people in my class, but I do have a helper, for when I need her and she's not busy with her other classes. You'll meet her when it's time, I guess. I'm an S rank, by the way" (Aaron)
"For the dagger class, a group of two students, we have Shino, an A rank adventurer, though her skills in head on combat are only on par with a B rank. Even so, most dagger users aren't going to fight head on" (HM)
"It's nice to meet you. Try not to let me catch you in a position where I could place a dagger on your neck by the time I'm done with you" (Shino)
"Uh... right... Teaching the sword, we have our other unnamed teacher, Mr Sword" (HM)
"I'm a former A rank adventurer, before I decided to retire to raise my kids. Now, I teach here, and I prided myself on my speed, until that pride got shattered in the entrance exam. My class has the most here, at 22. This means that I have enlisted some helpers, the A rank triplets Fred, Kyle, and Jeorge" (Sword)
"Teaching the spear, the S ranked Alicia, also known as the Green Gale" (HM)
"It's a pleasure to meet you, my nine students. Ryuu, please try to keep your fighting to a more standard style while you're in my class. I may have the long life of an elf, but it feels like you shaved a few years off of it when you were in my exam" (Alicia)
By this point, most of the students were probably wondering who 'Ryuu' was, but they'd learn pretty quickly.
"Now, we have the magic teachers for various elements. For fire, lightning, dark, curse, and shadow, we have Fran, the Black Lightning Queen. For water, earth, explosion, metal, and mud, we have the aptly named Blast Steele. For light, healing, spatial, and void, we have Miss Healing. For wind, ice, and dust, we have Fubuki. And finally, for summoning and taming, we have Souta. In the order in which I said their names, they will introduce themselves" (HM)
First, Fran, a black-haired cat-eared girl of 15 or so stepped forward, an oversized sword on her back.
"Nn. Fran. B rank adventurer. Black Lightning Queen. I'll teach you magic. I'm young, but good. Have familiar. Black wolf. Urushi. Hides in shadow" (Fran)
After that, an old dwarf carrying a hammer stepped up to take her place, speaking in a loud voice.
"The name's Blast Steele. I'll whip your magical skills into shape, so don't slack off or you'll be blown into next week! I was a magic toolsmith, but my arms are too shaky for the work, so I just teach magic now" (Blast)
From there, an elderly high elf woman walked forward with the aid of a cane... or rather, a staff, I guess.
"You can call me Miss Healing. In addition to being a teacher, I also work as the school nurse sometimes, so I don't want to see you in my office if I don't have to" (Miss Healing)
Before she finished walking back to her chair, an angry-looking human woman in her 20s took her place on the stage.
"I'm Fubuki, a B rank nearing A rank. I'm also known as Hell's Blizzard. Don't make me mad" (Fubuki)
Finally, we had Souta, a human male who looked to be about 20, who carried nothing as a weapon.
"I'm Souta, your teacher for summoning and taming. I'll also teach you about magic beasts, sometimes known as monsters, so if you want to learn about either of those, my doors are always open. I have several summons, and I only know of one student, namely, Ryuu, who has a summon this year, but it's a strong one. To that one student, I say this: come to my classroom after classes today, and I'll help you out with raising her" (Souta)
He went back to his seat, and Elizabeth, the headmistress, came to the front again.
"Finally, there's me. I am one of those who will teach you the general classes, such as mathematics, the rules and regulations for being an adventurer, and I'm also a librarian. Speaking of which, the library is that building there. It's open from three past noon until an hour after sunset, and from an hour before dawn to half an hour before classes start. Books cannot be taken out of the library, food and drinks cannot be taken in. Oh, one more thing: Your roommates are your temporary parties for the duration of your time here. Try to get along with them. Furthermore, to the twelve girls here, don't get knocked up. Dealing with students who have kids is a real pain, understand? For the guys, don't get anyone pregnant, even if they aren't a student here. All of you can feel free to have a love life or whatever else, even get married if you want, just don't have kids until you graduate. No bringing boys to the girls dorm, no bringing girls to the boy's dorm. If you don't want to sleep in the dorms some nights, you can do so, just make sure to be back in time for classes. The weekends are your free days, you can even do quests as adventurers on those days. However, your student IDs have a rank on them. No accepting quests that are above your rank. Now, you should all get to your first classes" (HM)
Char, Elise, Mae, and I compared our schedules, and learned we were all in the same homeroom class with Fran. Char and I had Fran's class right after, at the same time that Elise had Aaron's class and Mae had Blast's. After that, Char and Mae had had Mr Sword's, while I had Mr Axe and Elise had a free slot. Then, Elise, Char, and I had Miss Healing's while Mae had a free slot, followed by Char going with me to Fubuki's while the other two were free for the rest of the day, save for general classes at three. Actually, I was in all of Char's fixed classes but the sword. Basically, the dorm rooms were together as much as possible. Anyways, I was in all of the magical classes as well as two of the weapon classes.
