Lian stood by the huge window, staring at her master who just arrived.

"So, he was the reason why we suffered, grandmother?" she whispered to herself.

She closed her eyes and clenched her necklace tighter.

"I swear on our family name, I'll take revenge on him," she said, closing her eyes.

A knock was heard from outside her room so she quickly hid her necklace.

"Wait a minute," she said as she fixed herself and wiped her tears away.

When she opened the door, the butler stood outside with a new uniform in his hand.

"The master told me that you would be serving him personally from now on. You will be his personal maid," the butler said and handed her her new uniform.

"Why?" she asked.

"I don't know. You should ask the master. You will be serving him tonight for his dinner. Be early, he hates latecomers," the butler said as he turned to leave.

She only nodded as she accepted the uniform.

After quickly changing into the new uniform, she looked at the huge portrait of her great, great, great grandmother.

"He'll pay for he did to our family," she whispered.

She quickly went to the kitchen and prepared the necessary things for her master's dinner.

Night fell, and she began serving the dishes before her master would arrive. She quietly waited for her master in the dining room, standing beside the huge dining table.

Moments later, he arrived while talking to his phone. He noticed her standing beside his chair and secretly clenched his chest. It was his curse, coming back again. But this time, it was even more painful. He quickly shook it off as soon as she turned to face him.

"Welcome master," she smiled sweetly after bowing to him.

He continued talking to his phone, trying to ignore her. The entire evening, he only ignored her. But after wiping his mouth, he turned to her.

"From tomorrow onwards, you'll be assisting me wherever I go. Be early tomorrow, I have an early morning meeting at the company," he said.

"Yes, master," she replied.

"Oh, and I prefer if you call me by my name," he said as he got up to leave.

"Yes, Jiahao," she said as she bowed.

"Good, go to sleep after serving me coffee in my office," he said and left.

Her eyes followed him leaving the room.

"I'll make you feel what my family felt," she muttered.

She went back to the kitchen to make him a cup of coffee and served it in his office.

"Sleep early," he reminded before she left.

She turned to him and nodded.

After changing into more comfortable clothes, she laid on her queen sized bed. She closed her eyes to relax but ending up sleeping.
