He sat blankly on his empty mansion.

His time was running out of time, his power was declining. He knew his human body was getting closer to death. He needs to find his bride, to secure his throne on the underworld.

"Master, the new maid is here," his butler knocked, interrupting his deep thoughts.

"Ahh, yes. I'll meet her now. Send for her," he said, snapping from his thoughts. He stood up, fixed his sweater and hair, then he poured himself a strong whiskey.

"Good morning sir," a woman's voice said after a few minutes.

"You should address him as master," the butler said.

He turned to look at the new maid his butler hired. Seeing who it was, he almost dropped his glass. He wanted to run to her. But he knew, it wasn't her. It wasn't her.

"Bring her to her new room, it's across my room," he told his butler.

The Butler was surprised but seeing his master's expression, he understood and bowed to him without a word.

"Master is slightly tired today. You should go rest in your new room. I'll bring you to it," the butler said as he gently closed the door.

He dropped his glass and clenched his heart out of pure pain. His thousand-year-old curse came back.

He clenched his teeth to prevent from yelling. He sat back down on his chair and closed his eyes as he clenched his chest.

"You will feel what I felt. My hatred for you will stay forever in your heart!"

He quickly opened his eyes.

He buried his face in his palms, trying to calm himself down. No, it isn't her. It isn't her, he kept repeating in his mind.

After a few minutes, his butler came back.

"The new girl has settled in her new bedroom. Might I ask master? Why do you let her stay in the room meant for your bride," he asked.

He looked out in the window and sighed.

"She's my bride," he said after he closed his eyes.

"But master, Miss Chang died a long time ago," the butler said.

She did. He killed her. Because of him, her entire family died and she killed herself after knowing it was because of him that they all died.

"That girl looked like Lian. I felt her hatred boiled up inside me when I saw her. She's the one," he said. "What's her name?"

"Wang Lian," the butler said.

After hearing what the new maid's name was, he stopped looking at the document.

"Keep her away from me," he said as he stood up and grabbed his coat and left.

The butler who was confused with the situation, he remained quiet, trying to understand the information.

Meanwhile, Lian sat on her new bed. Still mesmerized that her new boss was so generous that he gave her a beautiful room.

As she looked around a room, she noticed a huge portrait of a very beautiful woman.

"Why is my ancestor's portrait in here?"
