2 A Wager

Hi again human,

It seems as though you passed the quiz from last time. I hope you can do that again because there is once again a bomb attached to this letter. I can not help it though, I just have so much to share with you.

Anyways, since my last letter, I have already met Mephisto and…stalked Rin and Yukio. The future is set though, I will no longer have to stalk my beloved protagonists because I have already secured a place in True Cross Academy.

How?

Quite simple, I made a little wager with Mephisto. Quite a simple wager really as the winner of the staring contest won the bet.

You might be lost now and wondering:

"How the f*** did you even meet Mephisto and get him to agree with your bet?"

Well, it's quite simple. I walked into his mansion and asked him.

Now, I was betting-

You mean you want MORE details. Fine, first I bought a Ferrari with the cash I stole from the bank, then I drove to True Cross Academy. I then checked if I was affected by any of the demon wards around the school, but I wasn't. Then I got directions to Mephisto's place, which I went to. When I got there, Mephisto was off doing whatever he does, so I busted down his door and sat down in his living room.

That got his attention because he appeared in front of me immediately.

"A pleasure to meet you, whoever you are," Mephisto said in his singsong voice.

"No, the pleasure is all mine Mephisto or Faust? No, I think your real name is Samael." I replied nonchalantly.

When he heard that, Mephisto's eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

"Hahahaha, you really are an interesting one mister intruder. Since you know my name, could I have the honor of knowing yours?" Mephisto said.

"My true name? Well, my peers usually just call me Despair, but now that I am acting as a human I suspect that I may need a new name." I said, casually saying that I was not a human.

"Acting as a human…oh my, now you have me interested. What is it that you want from me?" A toothy grin spread across Mephisto's face.

"Oh, nothing much, just a house, name, and place in your cram school for exorcists."

"Hmmmm, I cannot just give this to you. You know that right?"

"Of course, I'm willing to have a little wager with you. If I win, you give me all that I asked for, but if you win, you can have my soul. What do you say?"

"HAHAHA, you know who I am but you still want to have a wager. Very well, I accept. I will give you the courtesy of choosing the wager."

"Staring contest."

"HAHAHHAHAHAHH AHHAHHAHHAHHA"

And that is how I set up a wager with Mephisto, the demon lord of time.

Mephisto seemed to think that he had the staring contest won already, but I have a few tricks.

"Sooo, we might as well get this staring contest over with right now," Mephisto said ludicrously.

"That's what I had in mind," I said with a confidant smile.

"Eins…Zwei…Drei…BEGIN!" Mephisto counted down.

We both were sitting down, completely relaxed, and staring deeply into each other's eyes. After one minute, I made my move. Raising my arm, I began concentrating all of the feelings of despair from True Cross Academy together. When all the feelings were collected, I pushed them straight into Mephisto.

Mephisto had only seen me raise my arm, as only I could feel and interact with the emotions in the area. He just stared curiously, thinking that whatever I would throw at him would be negligible to someone as powerful as him.

His face was priceless when the feelings hit him. If I had to judge him based on his wide eyes, clenched teeth, and his hand grabbing his chest, I would say that Mephisto had never felt despair before. Why would he, he is after all the demon lord of time.

He still didn't blink though, a valiant effort I must say but it was to no avail. I summoned searing violet flames in a ball and sent it hurdling straight at Mephisto's right eye.

Of course, this simple trick would not do in a demon lord of Mephisto's caliber, as he froze time right before the fiery ball struck. He smiled and stood up, walked casually up to my still figure, and reached his finger, aiming to manually blink my eyes.

'Got you b****!' I thought.

Now if you thought me, the almighty demon of despair, the ruler of depression and conqueror of pissed pants, would lose to a simple time stop, then you are a dumba**.

In a flash, I grabbed his outstretched arm and pulled him towards me. As he fell forward, I cocked my right fist, which was now wrapped in violet flames…and clobbered the SH** out of that bastard's face. My fist hurt a little from punching so hard, but he blinked.

I then started to laugh like a maniac, but suddenly two figures appeared at either side of me and grabbed me. They threw me to the ground and held me there as Mephisto slowly stood up and spat out a mouthful of blood.

It seems as though I had gone a little too far to win the staring contest because the two figures holding me seemed to have been summoned by Mephisto.

When Mephisto finally turned towards me, I could see that his face that his eyes had a dangerous glean to them and his fangs looked suspiciously sharp. Then, a huge wave of indescribable power hit me, all of it emanating from Mephisto.

Let me tell you human, I have felt power as strong as this before, but only from the strongest of the strong. It was something incredibly impressive, and I doubt I could create an aura of power stronger than the radiating from Mephisto.

Now I am unfortunately going to have to stop hear human, even though I know you are hanging on to my every word.

I bet your thinking, is Mephisto going to fight me? Or maybe, Mephisto is going to beat me to a pulp. Better yet, you might be thinking:

"Please end this letter so I can take my quiz and not blow up!"

Well, my dear impatient reader, I will end this letter here, just to leave you on a cliffhanger. Totally not because this is around the limit of words I can send in each letter to your dimension.

From,

The Almighty Demon of Despair
