Chapter 23_ Attacked 1

Brian scowled at her, her over confidence is just too much. "if I were you I will be worried haven't you seen the news today?".

Lyra stared at him confusedly but chose not to care at all. Brian saw her unconcerned attitude and grabbed her shoulders hard "your friend was attacked today".

Lyra pulled his hands off her shoulders "oh please if she was attacked I'll be the first one to know about it".

Brian massaged his temples this girl, "have you completely lost it? I will tell you exactly what happened when you were busy enjoying your time here".

Racheal's eyes slowly opened, her head was banging really hard. She immediately sat up seeing the unfamiliar room.

Her heart pounded hard against her chest, ' where has Marcus brought her to?' she panicked slightly.

She pulled off the comforter from her body, the room she was staying was like a suite almost everything were white in color well except herself.

Racheal immediately got up and scurried to the door, lucky for her it was opened so she sneaked her way out.

She came down silently from the stairs it seems as if no one was present in the house. her eyes roamed around.

She saw a maid coming towards her and stopped her. "excuse me, please where is this?".

She saw the maid bow "you are at my house" Aidan mumbled with a straight face.

Racheal's heart jumped, how did she end up in his house? of all places to be why here.

The maid left their presence. "but....how did I get here?".

Aidan walked past her to sit on the white sofa while she followed him.

"your life is in danger and the most safest place for you now is to stay within the four corners of this house".

Racheal brows drew together, how can she even stay here? and with him at that, oh no no no... "who wants to kill me and why? and why your house? I mean I can stay at an hotel or something" she argued.

Aidan raised a brow at her " suit yourself then, go to an hotel then and get killed like a slug".

Racheal didn't understand what was going on, how can her life be in danger? she was a nobody!.

"or maybe you didn't read the contract which you signed, during the night you will start your job".

Aldrin's voice resonated in her ears, she blinked severally why was her life taking a drastic turn, it seems even mother earth doesn't want her anymore.

She immediately remembered him saying something about Lyra's mother.

" But I can't sleep soundly without lyra by my side".

Aidan tapped his chin, he read something like that in the details he received concerning her.

"and she must be worried about my whereabouts".

Aidan stared into space for a while which made Racheal wonder if he had gone stuffed.

After a while he answered "that has been taken care of".

He turned to her once more " I will give you my word to release your friend's mother only if you comply".

An idea suddenly popped into her mind, she and Marcus couldn't do anything on her list but now that he is here maybe he could fulfill her wishes.

"of course I will abide to the contract but you will have to do some things in return for me".

Aidan met her gaze and gave her a nod.

At lycan's base

Racheal's stomach churned with the sight in front of her, lycan took her to his base.

She saw how fellow human beings like her were treated, most of them were missing some body parts.

The whole place reeked of blood, She could hear distant screaming and pleading.

They passed a prison, Racheal some skulls and skeleton, now she knew how dangerous this man was.

Racheal's leg was shaking as she walked further, her legs suddenly gave way but before she could hit the ground.

Lycan caught her with one arm around her waist, "watch your step or I'll turn you to one of those skeletons in there".

Racheal gulped, he was threatening her. They arrived into his visitors room, she saw a masked man in there with several other men heavily armed.

She saw them all stand up to greet Lycan, she also noticed that they didn't address him as his name.

The masked man turned to her direction "lycan I didn't know that you have a woman, that's new" the masked man dropped.

Lycan went quiet for a while "she is one of my assistant".

The masked man let out a hearty laugh "come on now what can she possibly do? she looks so innocent" the man added.

Lycan rested his back on his throne like chair tapping his fingers on the handle in a rythm." then I should probably say that was your first mistake".

Even though he was putting on a mask, Racheal could tell the change in his expression.

"let's bag this deal and get it over with" lycan announced, he noticed that Mr. mask was looking at Racheal every now and then.

Mr. mask smiled, mischief evident in his eyes "sure why not?, but this time why don't we add a little something to the deal" Mr mask paused.

"I mean we can bag this deal if I have her".

Racheal jerked a little, fear was clearly Written on her innocent face.

"of course you can have her".

Racheal suddenly heard Aidan murmur, she met his eyes shaking her head. Cold sweat broke out of her face.

Mr. mask smiled happily, urging Racheal to come forward.

Racheal turned to Aidan for help but he simply stared at her as if telling her 'don't worry about anything'.

She took some steps forward towards Mr. mask when she was just in front of him he harshly pulled her to sit on his laps.

Racheal's heart dropped, how can he let her go with this man?.

Mr. mask traced his fingers on her skin making Racheal uncomfortable, she looked towards his direction again.

"so it's a deal then".

Lycan announced for Mr mask to smile triumphantly, he stood up resting his hand on Racheal's waist.

"then I'll be on my way!" Mr mask announced.

Racheal was already in tears, this wasn't included in the contract, but in the next second she heard a loud gunshot, the hands on her waist suddenly dropped.

Mr mask fell slowly to the ground, Racheal quickly ran to Lycan's side in fright, Mr mask men were already raining shots at lycan who remained unmoved from his spot.

Racheal embraced him from behind while lycan and his men fired back at Mr mask's men.

When they were all down, lycan suddenly paid attention to the lady weeping behind him..
