187 The changing war, two new laws.

After flying out of the hole, Yao Jun took his time dodging around, pulling as many Merged Heaven Clan soldiers as he could. He did not launch any counterattacks, even when they showed openings, he would simply ignore them and continue to teleport through space. The number of soldiers launching attacks at him quickly grew, but none of the attacks were able to actually hit Yao Jun.

He even took the chance to test out a new idea he had while he was dodging around. When an attack came close to him, he would open two small, yet connected, rifts in space. The idea was that the attack would enter one rift, and shoot out again from the other rift. It ended up working, but only somewhat. The rifts could not be too far away from each other, or the connection would be broken. He could also only transport attacks that were within a certain level of strength, otherwise, they would simply shatter the rift and continue unabated.

But while Yao Jun was running around and dodging attacks, the rest of the war continued to rage on around him, and the state of the war continued to change as time went on. The greatest change happened only a few hours after the start of the battle, signaled by the destruction of one of the flying ships.

A massive array appeared in the sky, the entire sky covered by undulating runes that glowed with a bloody red light. And out from the red light, three large armies appeared, each army led by two people who were clearly stronger than the rest.

One army consisted of human looking people that had blue skin, elongated eyes, and webbing between their fingers. The second army consisted of people who looked human but had black and red smoke coiling around their bodies, seeping into their skin at some places, and leaving their skin at other places. The third army didn't consist of a single race but was filled with people belonging to all kinds of races. Upon seeing these three armies, the expressions of Gilberd and Diana sank somewhat, but they still looked confident as Diana spoke out.

"Giselle and Eua, Blavier and Mainard, Zhang Ming and Gloriana. It seems like you brought quite the entourage just so you could win today. But I must still disappoint you."

Even while dodging, Yao Jun paid attention to the people Diana was talking to. Giselle and Eua were the two leaders of the army consisting of people with blue skin, the army of the Primordial Sea Clan. Giselle was somewhat short, had waist-length blue hair that, and thin lips. Eua was also a bit short, but her hair was even longer than Giselle's, but it was tied up into a thick bun, her lips also thin.

Blavier and Mainard were the leaders of the army consisting of people who had smoke coiling around them. Blavier had ghastly gray eyes, his skin fluctuating between red and black as smoke coursed beneath his skin. Even his long hair seemed to be made out of smoke, constantly changing. Mainard looked more normal, his skin a tanned brown, his black and shiny hair slicked back.

Zhang Ming and Gloriana were the leaders of the third army, the mixed army, and were the people Yao Jun paid the most attention to. This was the first time since passing through the spatial rift that Yao Jun had encountered someone that had a name that sounded similar to the ones from his planet.

Zhang Ming had a slim body, his skin slightly pale. He had light brown hair that was shaven short at the sides of his head but stayed long in the middle. He had black eyes that overlooked the battle with a calm gaze. Gloriana was a tall woman who had a somewhat flat body without the usual curves people would call enchanting, but she had a confident smile, her long black hair tied into a neat pony-tail.

Yao Jun did not know where these three armies had come from, but it was clear that things were taking a turn for the worse. But while Yao Jun was starting to think about how he could best escape, Diana spoke out in a soft and confident voice.

"Do it."

Gilberd, who had been standing next to her, swiped his interspatial ring and took out a palm-sized rock that was a dull grey in color. A few runes covered the rock, but there was no energy radiating from it, so Yao Jun was a bit uncertain what the purpose of the rock was. Gilberd threw it, the rock quickly reaching a speed so fast that it vanished from sight, appearing high above the armies.

Gilberd gave a snap of his fingers, and the rock exploded into tiny fragments, a massive black rift appearing in the sky. Out from the rift fell massive chunks of burning stone, meteors crashing towards the armies beneath the rift. The earth shattered, the explosions so loud that they threatened to deafen everyone who was battling. Yao Jun could feel the entire planet shaking, his heart quaking as he looked at the ensuing destruction. But just as he thought that the attack was over, a loud and boisterous laughter sounded out.

"Hahaha! And here I was wondering why you would call me up ahead of time and tell me to put a halt to our cultivation, so this is why! Quite a nice party you have going on here, mind if I and my men join in?"

Yao Jun turned towards the rift in the sky, at the people that had suddenly appeared behind the meteors. There were only a few thousand people, but they were clearly far more elite than most of the soldiers that were already here. There was a man standing at the front of the elite soldiers, and just by looking at him, Yao Jun felt like the might of the entire universe was crashing down upon him.

The man had pitch black eyes that resembled black holes, a smirk hanging on his face. His tall body and elongated features showed that he was clearly someone from the World Tree Clan, his hair was deep green in color and shaven short, spiky like needles. But where most people from the World Tree Clan were somewhat slim, this man was burly and muscular, like a pillar of steel. Upon seeing this army, Elysande let out a slight sound.

"Arthurius, you managed to break through to the middle stage of the Heavenly Deity realm?"

Heavenly Deity realm, the realm directly below the legendary Godkings, the rumored highest cultivation realm. Any breakthrough in that realm meant a massive increase in strength. Elysande and the others had never heard any news about Arthurius breaking through, nor did they suspect that he would bring his elite corps, the Wrath of Heaven corps, to join in the battle.

According to his words, Diana had told him to prepare ahead of time. Had they learned about the participation of the three other armies before the battle? But how would they be able to learn about it, was there a traitor? Elysande quickly shook her head, throwing the thoughts to the back of her mind. None of that mattered now, what mattered now was that they had to face Arthurius and the rest of the World Tree Clan.

Diana looked at the expressions of the other leaders, a smirk on her face. When Leylan told her that she had to bring as much force as possible, she had hesitated slightly before calling Arthurius but ended up calling him a little bit before the battle began. And now it seemed that she had been right to do so.

While she had never expected the Endless Abyss sect, the Heaven's Gate sect, and the Primordial Sea Clan would join the Final Fire and Merged Heaven Clan, she was not too worried right now. If all five powers worked together to ruin her clan, they would certainly be in trouble. But looking at the lineup of people they had sent, it was clear that the five powers were not fully united, otherwise, they would have sent their elite corps and their main generals. They still stood a chance, they could still win this.

Yao Jun wanted to observe the battle that was about to happen between these powerful people, but the Merged Heaven Clan soldiers started to swarm toward him again, so he was forced to put all his focus on dodging around. But even while dodging, the sounds of destruction that the battle caused was enough to let Yao Jun guess at the might they showed.

Yao Jun had given his Demonic beasts full access to the gate, so whenever they killed a person or Demonic beast, they could immediately absorb all the energy and strengthen each other. Because of this, Yao Jun could feel his own strength slowly rise, his body growing stronger as the hours passed.

Yao Jun could not make the time to check the true battle that was taking place, but he could make the time to kill any spider that he saw, strengthening his own Spider Hive beast, the signs of life coming from it growing as time passed. But there was one thing Yao Jun found somewhat strange. He had given his Demonic beasts free reign to absorb new Demonic beasts for the God Gate, but even after almost an entire day had passed, no new Demonic beasts had been added to his God Gate.

But Yao Jun did not know what his Demonic beasts were thinking, how they felt. Yao Jun had continuously shown them his might, his endurance, his determination. He had allowed Little Gray to evolve into a true Illusory Roc, he had allowed Sirius, Zhuyin, and Zhuanxu to leave the places where they were practically imprisoned. To his Demonic beast, Yao Jun was someone they had wholeheartedly submitted to, the future Demon God, the only one they would follow.

To the future Demon God, would any normal Demonic beasts be worthy of him? No, of course not! Only the best was good enough, only the strongest deserved to follow at his side. And because of this belief, they did not even mind foregoing their own pride as Divine beasts, working together to take down some Demonic beasts that could strengthen Little Thunder or Ba-Shei, increasing the strength of their bloodline and element.

But with such a large army of Demonic beasts, how could there not be any that would fit Yao Jun? After a bit more time passed, a full 24 hours almost passing, two changes happened in his God Gate. One change was that the Spider Hive beast started to wake up, the signs of life turning into a proper life. The second change was the appearance of a new Demonic beast, one of Yao Jun's Demonic beasts finally absorbing a new future comrade.

And with the two changes, Yao Jun's armor followed suit, wriggling as it started to change. The armor pressed against his skin as it wriggled, spikes digging into his skin and filling him with pain. Yao Jun grit his teeth to endure, waiting for the change to end, but the armor simply continued to wriggle.

A thought struck Yao Jun, almost like a revelation. It was waiting for an order, an image. A picture quickly appeared in Yao Jun's mind, an image of the green robe that Guo Luo had bought for him while they were traveling together, the robe she herself had designed. With the image popping into his mind, the armor quickly changed.

The sturdy metal turned soft and silky, melting into a soft and loose robe. The robe looked like it was made out of silk, but Yao Jun could see a faint marking covering the entire robe, looking like scales stacked closely together. The entire back of the robe was covered in an image of Yao Jun's gate, all his Demonic beasts present on the gate. The robe seemed soft, but Yao Jun could feel that it was far sturdier than his incomplete armor had been, his defense drastically increasing.

But there was a problem, his helmet had disappeared. Yao Jun had not worn the mask to hide his appearance, so his true appearance was revealed to anyone who paid attention to him. Luckily, besides a few special ones, most other people were busy fighting or observing the battle taking place in the air. Yao Jun quickly fished out the mask, putting it on and altering his features, his gaze landing on the soldiers that had been chasing him. They were looking at him with shock and amazement, but that only told Yao Jun that they had clearly memorized his features, his voice turning cold as he spoke.

"You have seen too much."

Yao Jun turned towards the soldiers, taking back the energy he had shared with Sirius and the others, quickly having them return to the gate. His new robe fluttered in the wind, the image on the back clearly showing his new Demonic beasts, a spider and a scorpion. Since these soldiers had seen his true features, he had already decided that he would kill them all, lest too many people know how he truly looks. At the same time, he also decided to try out the two new laws he had gotten control over, poison and death.
