Part in Good Terms

"I won't have it, Rordan."

Those were the words he said as he begins packing his belongings in a chest. He began taking his books, his gold, his blades, and all the things that make him a nobleman. Father might have killed Duke Dario, but he never took away his lands and titles. By Silenda Law, Melchior is now Duke.

I know he is mourning. He covers his sadness with his fury. He angrily dumps his belongings on his chest and finally locks it.

"Where are you going?" Aretha asks.

"Somewhere, anywhere," he answers. "I had enough of court. Do you expect me to forgive King Fenris for beheading my father?"

With his strength, he carries the chest easily with his hands. That chest is as heavy as a horse, but he can carry it easily. Not only that, he's carrying a satchel full of maps around the Silenda Kingdom.

"Don't blame Rordan for this, Melchior," Olghar pleads. "If anything, he – "

"I do not blame Rordan," Melchior answers bluntly. "But I cannot tolerate his family's rule. I won't have it. For too long I have suffered at the hands of the Llelewyns. I would rather much live in my father's lands than at court."

As he opens the door, he takes one last glimpse of us.

"We part in good terms, crew," Melchior says calmly. "But I need to leave. Farewell."

I cannot even bear it. I grew up with my crew. We had been acquaintances for all of my life. Yes, I think wrongly of them sometimes, but I cannot believe that this is actually happening. I cannot believe that we would actually break apart.

I look at Olghar, and all he could do is hop on my shoulder and hold me tight. This is tough for us. I, however, notice Aretha. She's been walking drowsily around the room while feeling her temples. She stumbles here and there, but she is no drunkard. I can see that she's in pain as she grunts and cries out here and there. Something is happening. She's seeing something!

"No, no!" Aretha screams.
