28 The Mission: Capture The Hungry Hyena (1)

Lexi put out her palm toward the Fire Ring team. "Hurry up, I need their data. We have to hurry if you don't want other Hunters to catch the culprit first."

JY and the other members stared at each other with an incomprehensible expression written on their face.

Looking at how all of them had such expression on their face, Lexi raised up an eyebrow toward them with her hands crossed on her chest. "Don't tell me you don't have their data? Don't you know the data about the culprits would help you during this mission?"

"What's the point of having their data? We only have to catch them. Why trouble yourself with the data?" One of the Fire Ring team spokes.

Lexi shifted her gaze toward him. "So, you mean... You guys never collect data about any culprits that you need to catch?"

"The clients already give us the necessary information we've got. We don't need more data about the targets," Natalinda said as she wore a sarcastic expression.

Lexi sighed deeply in her heart. 'What the hell? Are you kidding me? Did they really think that since they lived in an advanced technology world, they shouldn't collect more data about the culprits? Oh goshh...'

Orange saw her Captain sighed and then she rubbed her temple again in frustration. Thus, Orange asked, "Is something wrong, Captain?"

"Yes, we don't have enough data about this Hungry Hyena... We can't capture them in just one day. We need more data if we want to catch them quickly..." Lexi sat down to an empty chair.

After that, she looked at JY again. "Give me all the data you have regarding this Hungry Hyena."

JY stared at Lexi with a questionable gaze before he took out another scroll of hologram screen. He put the scroll into Lexi's open hand.

Lexi didn't have any time and quickly read all the information inside the scroll.

Everyone stays quiet while waiting for Lexi to finish her reading. Some of them show a sarcastic and mocked face toward Lexi. They still didn't believe that a Racer like Lexi could catch the culprit.

After she finished reading it, Lexi looked at JY again. "Is this the only data you have?" she asked.

JY nodded. "Yes, that was the data which the client gave us. We only need to search the person which has the same appearances with the description in the data. As long as it is the same, we can pin down the target."

'Geez, why would they believe all the necessary information provided by the clients is true? Clients only gave the information based on what they saw...'

"This is not the overall information that we need. You have to collect more than just this. Less information will lead you to a wrong target. Wrong target means you will cause more loopholes later."

Upon hearing what Lexi said, everyone started to feel offended. Before this, they always used the information that they got from the clients and they never caught the wrong culprits.

But now, Lexi told them the data they got from the client is not sufficient. She was just a Racer, what's the point of making such a fuss for this case if she didn't know anything at all?

"You know what, you can stop here and go home. We don't need you to..." Natalinda could not hold Lexi's attitude as if she was telling everyone that she knows what she was doing.

Being a Hunter is very different from being a Racer but it seems like Lexi didn't understand at all what Natalinda was trying to tell her.

Lexi didn't let Natalinda finish her words as she cut in, "I already promise you to solve this case and you also promise me that you would consider me to be on my team if I can solve this... Why would you go back on your own words? Is it because you didn't trust me? Being a Hunter, you need a full trust from your clients or your partners. Broken the trust then you are dead, don't you know that?"

'Hmph, I will show you what I can do. I was one of the people who helped the detectives to solve difficult cases back in the 21st century. You dare to look down on me? Let's see who will kneel before me later.'

Natalinda tightened her fist subconsciously. "Fine, you do what you have to do. You want to solve this case yourself, you will need to face the consequences yourself. Don't tell me, I didn't remind you about this. Without a proper plan and proper weapon, you could be dead."

Lexi smiled nonchalantly. "You only need to lend me a hand when it's time to catch the culprits. I only want to provide you the details and the plans to capture the culprit."

Lexi took the scroll of the culprit's information with her. "Now, listen... I want you to gather everyone in your team and prepare the necessary weapons to fight this Hungry Hyena. From what I have seen in the information, they work as a team and their teamwork is really good. If we need to catch the leader, we need a good plan."

All of the Fire Ring members furrowed their eyebrows in many different types of expressions.

"What are you gonna do?" JY was curious about what Lexi would do to the scroll in her hand.

"I will go investigate the location of the victim's house and find other information. You guys just need to follow my order later."

After that, Lexi exited the place with Orange and Lans following her from behind.

After they exited the underground guild, they directly went to the car. Lexi told Lans to bring them to their secret hideout.

When they arrived there, Lexi quickly got out of the car and went to the working table.

Lexi put the scroll on the table and she looked at Lans. "Help me to locate the victim's house."

Lans didn't say much and only followed Lexi's order. He turned on his computer and started pressing the keyboard.

"Captain, are you sure you can help them with this case? If we can't find the culprits, we can withdraw for now. After all, we only want to recruit members, right? We can always find another one other than Natalinda..."

Orange was anxious and at the same time wandering about what Lexi was doing right now.

"This is not just about for the recruitment, Orange. You must understand... As a Racer, we also have our own pride. Being a strong Racer gives us many benefits but think of it, if we are also excellent in the Deadly Car Racing and in this underground world, people will look at us in a different light. Did you think I created this team only to be famous in the Deadly Car Racing? People need to recognise us as a talented and remarkable team," Lexi put down the scroll in her hand and glanced over to Orange.

Orange stays silent for a while to think about Lexi's word. But how much she thought about it, she was still somewhat hesitant. "But we are only a Racer... We won't be much of a helper in this case."

Lexi sighed at the narrow-minded girl beside her. "We only race when we are in Racing Territory. Right now, don't think of yourself as a Racer but someone who wants to help other people. You can say we are the Nation Detectives right now, we are investigating and solving the clues to capture the culprits."

After that, Orange didn't say anything anymore and just sat silently beside Lexi as if she was some kind of robot or whatever.

At the same time, Lans also finished to find all the victim's location with his computer. He pushed a hologram screen toward Lexi.

Lexi took the screen and looked at it. "Can you bring me to this place?"

Lans nodded. "Of course. It won't take us long to get there."

"Good. Orange, go prepare the car. Lans, take out the silver box you prepared for us. It's time to use it..." Lexi ordered Lans and Orange to get ready. She found a black leather bag in one of the metal shelves. She used it to store the scroll.

The two people quickly move to finish the orders.

When they arrived at the first location, Lans showed Lexi the information about the first victim.

"This man is called Tynan Rocks. He is one of the richest in this city. From the information I've got, he is one of the members in a Lemon Drug Club. After the theft incident, he lost half of his wealth which is 1 million Gold in total."

Orange gasped in shock. "1 million Gold in total? That's ridiculous!"

Lexi didn't know how much 1 million Gold would mean if she was still in the 21st century but she predicted it must be a huge sum of money.

'What these thieves would do with the money? It was such a huge sum of money? They won't be planning to buy a whole nation, right?'

Lexi got out of the car and stood at the end of the sidewalks. She looked at Tynan Rock's house across the road. Talking about rich people, their house would be very big and the house which Lexi is staring at right now is as big as the castle back in the 21st century.

Lexi snorted in her heart. 'Serves you right! You should donate your money to other old people rather than spending your money like this. It is not like you have hundreds of children to make you build this extravagant house! Geez, what is wrong with people in this century?'

Although Lexi was talking inside her mind, she still looked around the area to search for something. When she was done, she went back to the car but didn't directly go in. Instead, she took the black leather bag and hung it behind her shoulder.

"Lans, you will need to help me to hack the camera systems around here including the one inside Tynan's house. Orange, follow me... We will visit his house today."

"Alright, Captain." Lans opened the laptops that he brought with him.

Orange, who was still confused about everything, could only follow Lexi from behind. When she already stepped inside Tynan Rock's front house, only then she realized that Lexi was very serious to solve this case.
