19 The First Target(4)

Lexi stared at the girl who was walking toward her with inimitably dainty steps. Lans also shifted his head toward Orange. Secretly, he lifted up his right eyebrow to Lexi with a questionable gaze.

Orange stopped in front of Lexi. She seems to be hesitant at the start but seeing that Lexi was staring at her without saying anything, she surrender. "Fine, I agree to join your team. Tell me the condition after the competition."

Lans looked at Lexi with a goofy smile. "Looks like you hit the jackpot. Nice job!"

Lexi chuckled at his sudden mark. She moved toward Orange while stretch out her hand, waiting for a hands shaking. "I'm the Captain, call me Lexi. Welcome to the team."

Orange raised her hands and handshakes with Lexi's.

"This is our team's Hacker."

Lans winked playfully to Orange. "Call me Lans. Welcome to our team."

Orange didn't respond nor did she show any emotion. She just stare blankly at them.

Lans move toward the back door and take out another grey metal box. He put in onto the car rooftop and opened it.

Lexi and Orange justice watch from the side and wait for him to say something.

"This competition would be a little harder since someone Orange didn't like was here. That guy would do anything to make Orange lose in the game but since I'm here, you guys going to be just fine in the racing area later."

Lans take out two small boxes from the grey metal box and handed over each of the small boxes to Lexi and Orange. After that, he give Lexi another item which looks like a round machine.

"The first Item in your hand is a communicating device. Put it inside your ears later. The second one is the map which I provided before. There would be a few deadly traps around the road, so I will help you to handle them. The one that you guys should be aware on the road is the Racer. They would become so fierce during the race and they might kill you during the game."

Orange looked at Lans with a skeptical expression. "Did we have to be so serious about this competition? This competition is not even that dangerous like in the Deadly Car Racing, why should we take this seriously?"

Lans fixed his gaze toward Orange.

Lexi also turned her head around. 'Why would this girl think like that? Of course we'll should take this competition seriously even it was just a small racing competition. Is this what she learned through all the game inside the Deadly Car Racing?'

"If that what you think about for every little competition like this, you won't get anything. The reason why we must take this seriously is because that way, people would think twice whether or not they want to mess up with us," Lexi couldn't help but to explains it to Orange.

"Besides, we need to win the prize. We need that car for our team in the Deadly Car Racing later," Lans added.

"The prize? What is so cool about the prize? Isn't it just an ordinary racing car? There's nothing to be proud of, that car can only be use in a small and normal racing territory like in Village of Sun. We can't use the prize to win a game in the Deadly Car Racing," Orange said with an unbelievable face.

Orange heard that the prize for this competition is not too grand. Since it cannot use in the Deadly Car Racing game, Orange feel there is no use for her to win this competition. An useful car is a very deadly case for a Racer. That is the rule to keep you alive in the Deadly Car Racing.

Lans let out soft chuckles and he touched his forehead using his palm. "Did you affected by the rumours too? Pity for you and whoever believe such nonsense..."

Orange became dumbfounded when she saw Lans chuckles. She look at Lexi to look for an answer.

Like what she hope, Lexi answered her question. "The prize for this competition is a racing car of an edition 1200, from the Diamond Company with some set of mechanical equipment too. That's what Lans told me."

"What!?" Orange's eyes bulged upon hearing about the real prize.

"You mean, the limited edition of 1200 UNO Car Racing from Diamond Company? That edition from the famous company?"

"What? Why's are you suddenly shouting? It's just an edition from the Diamond Company. You also said there is nothing cool about the prize too." Lexi feels annoy to hear Orange shouts near her ears like she want to call her idol.

"It is different when it comes to the Diamond Company. Every edition of racing cars from that company is the strongest racing cars among all.You... Did you have any idea what is the Diamond Company is?" Orange asked Lexi.

"What about them?"

"Seriously, you're the Captain. You should know things about this..."

Lexi rolled her eyes in casual manner. "Yeah, I'm the Captain but I'm not the type of Captain that wants to know everything."

Orange looked at Lexi with her mouth opened slightly. She stated at Lexi with her face showing 'You're a hopeless Captain'.

Seeing the two girls created an awkward situation, Lans interrupted them. "Okay, that's enough... Shouldn't you guys ready for the competition? You guys only have fifteen minutes before it starts."

"Oh, right... The competition. Let's go, Racer. Time to win the race!" Lexi quickly forget about the things they debated a while ago and she's quickly pull Orange's hand.

Orange have no other choice but to go with Lexi. "Hey, Captain... You went to the wrong way."

Lexi smiled cheekily when Orange calls her 'Captain'. She might didn't realized this but Lexi could feel that Orange already fully agreed to be their team members. First target, check!

When they finally arrived at Orange's racing car, Lexi gawked at the bigger car with extremely powerful design.

"Nice one!"

The car was as big as the military vehicles back to 21st century.

The car was painted in shiny black colour with a big white strip across the rooftop.

Other than that, on top of the car rooftop was two similar rocket launcher machines.

"This is my personal car. As you already know about my identity, you should know this car is my private racing car..."

Lexi nodded nonchalantly. "I know..."

A girl with pink double buns hairstyle appeared from nowhere. Her face looked so cold that it didn't suit to her cute appearance at all. She gave Orange a small piece of an old ticket.

"Here is your ticket. You're in the column nine. You better go know or you would be late for the starting point."

And then she left.

Orange gripped the ticket in her palm and she went inside her car. Lexi also followed her getting into the car.

Once again, Lexi became stunned when she saw every design inside the car starting from the steering wheel to the weapon machine systems. Everything look extravagant.

When Orange turn on the system inside her car, hologram systems appeared everywhere from the front window to the side window.

Lexi saw another holographic picture shaking many people's profile. She looked at Orange and said, "This is the profile for each player who join the competition?"

Orange only nodded without saying anything.

Orange quickly turn on the engine and she drove the car toward the starting line. When the engine is turned on, the seat belts instantly installed to the passenger.

While she driving, Lexi take out the map item which Lans gave her before. She put the map onto the dashboard and it automatically put out a holographic map.

Lexi also instructed Orange to put their communicating devices on.

From the communicating devices, Lans's voice could be heard.
