16 The First Target(1)

After Lexi went home, she quickly takes a shower and went to the kitchen to make dinner for her and her family.

After she done with the cooking, all three of them were sitting in the table while enjoying their dinner.

Lexi was absent-minded when she was eating. Janet realized that something was bothering her, thus she asked, "What are you thinking for? Is something troubling you?"

Lexi take some of the vegetables from a small bowl before placing it on her plate. She didn't raise her head as she spoke, "It's not too troubling. This is only concern about the Deadly Car Racing. I already make some deal with a partner and we are recruiting a new team.

I have some times later and I will teach you how to cook again for tomorrow. Since I would be very busy in the future, cooking for us would be difficult later."

Lexi thought that Janet might need to know about her plan to build a new team for the Deadly Car Racing. Besides, Janet was already considered as a mother to the original Lexi and Lexi didn't want her to worry about her all the times.

"Sister, you want to join the game again? But you always lost numerous times. I thought you give up already?" Oscar said as he inserted a spoonful of rice with chicken to his mouth.

Lexi looked at Oscar with a poker face. "Today, everything is about that damn Deadly Car Racing. Besides, joining this game was the fastest way to make some money. Our current finance wouldn't last for three month. If we don't find a way to make more money, we couldn't eat any delicious food like this anymore," she snapped.

When Oscar heard that they couldn't eat any delicious food again if they didn't have enough money, his face change into an anxious one.

"Oh, alright, alright, alright. I understand, sister... You may go and make more money so that I can still eat more delicious food," he quickly answered.

Lexi's mouth twitched with many different feelings. She didn't know how she should respond to her brother's words.

"Even though you want to make more money, you have to be careful. That job is too dangerous. Yes, it can pay us a good amount of money but our lives are more important. Remember to always be safe, Lexi," Janet advised the girl with a soft and affectionate voice, like a mother were giving her advised to her children.

Lexi looked carefully at Janet's face. A sudden burst of tender appears on her face and Lexi smile. "Don't you worry, mother. I will be fine."

Janet smiled tenderly, knowing that Lexi would keep her promise. She then focused her attention to the dinner again.

The rest of the dinner continues with a harmonious atmosphere among the dining table. As promised, Lexi teach Janet on how to cook with various ingredients, enough for them to cook something when she is away from home for some matter.

After the teaching lesson are done, Lexi returned to her room. She was pretty exhausted for all the things that happen today.

While she was lying on the bed like a lazy cat, Lexi began to thinking about the rest of the members that needed to be recruiting later.

Lexi rose from her sleeping position and she grabbed the tiny black backpack beside her bed. She took out a tiny button-liked machine from inside and quickly returns to her lying position.

Lexi press the machine and soon, her rooms filled with many holograms contain information about the new members. Lexi start to rummage all the information so that she can take note something that Lans didn't told her about.

'Hmm, everyone looked so good, so strong. The stronger they become, the harder it is to recruit them...' While Lexi read all the information, her hands swipe out all the unnecessary hologram information.

Lexi keep working until late at night and only then, she went back to sleep.

In the morning, Lexi woke up a bit late since she stays late last night. Lexi went to bathroom and quickly get ready. When she walked downstairs, she saw that the breakfast is already been prepared. Oscar was also already sat down there and was eating his breakfast.

"Come, Lexi... Let's eat." Janet tells her to sit down and she did.

After the breakfast, Lexi went out again to meet up with Lans so that they can move on to the next job.

Lans pick Lexi up at some place before they went to a place which looks like an old village in a desert. Everything looked shabby and dusty.

"This place is called the Village of Sun. The history of this place is pretty simple but the interesting thing is most of player went here to practise. Also, this place is a good place to make some friends and team," Lans explained to Lexi while he opened the door and went out.

Lexi quickly followed Lans to step out from the car. She looked everywhere and realised that there are many people here with their different types of cars.

"Oh, one more thing... Whatever happened here is depend on your luck. No one is willing to help you even though you involved in a pretty bad situation. The only thing that can resolve everything is through racing," Lans keep walking ahead while talking to Lexi who follow closely from behind.

"Alright, I get that..." Lexi looked everywhere again before she looked at Lans. "Why are we here again?"

Lans stopped for a moment before he shot Lexi a playful glance. He smirked before saying, "Today's event is really good. The host for the game today hold a race competition and the prize is a racing car, an edition 1200, the newest racing car model from the Diamond Company, also with a set of mechanical equipment. We need this car for our big competition in the Deadly Car Racing later. So, I'm going to place my hope in your hands to bring us that prize. You can do that, right?"

For a moment, Lexi was having a blackout brain. She can't process too fast about the information that Lans gave her. She grabbed Lans's shoulder when he was about to walk again.

"Wait, so you mean we came here only to win the prize? I thought that we will go to meet with the recruit?"

Lans looked at Lexi again and said, "I want to tell you later about this but seeing you become anxious like this, I think I just have to tell you."

Lexi let go of Lans's shoulder before scratching her forehead. "I'm not anxious... I'm just shock!"

Lans rolled his eyes. "Today, Orange also comes here to join the competition. Looks like she just want to join this race to find some friends, she don't have any interest in the prize. Also, she needs someone as her co-driver. Since we need her in our team, you will work together with her in this competition. You can see for yourself if she are qualified enough to be in our team or not."

"I see... So, the first target is already here. Well, let's go find her," Lexi with a big smile quickly move forward faster than Lans. She was so happy to know that their first target is here.

Lans let out a sigh before he grabbed Lexi's collar and dragged her to the other side. "You went to the wrong side, idiot! She is in this way!"
