21 The Competition: The Battle Forest

[Another 50 meters until you reaches the landmines territory. Be careful on the road. Keep an eye for the other Racers. They will be your biggest trouble later.]

Orange peeked a glance toward Lexi. "Opened the Scanning Monitor. It will help us to scans every landmines under the ground."

Lexi didn't say much and she directly searched for the Scanning Monitor system through the hologram systems. She opened another new hologram screen of the Scanning Monitor and quickly actives it.

Using the Scanning Monitor, Orange avoided every landmines that was found underneath the ground.

Some of the other Racers want to shove Orange's car out from the road by bumping their cars to Orange's. Orange tried her best to control the car and move further from other cars.

A few seconds later, a big mushroom of black cloud appears in the sky along with a loud explosion. Some of the Racing Cars already been blown up and couldn't continue the rest after they drive right into the landmines.

Another explosion happened again and again.

[Those landmines are pretty dangerous when its explodes. Once the other landmines exploded, the nearest landmines would also explodes, so be careful.]

"Alright, thanks for the remainder!" Lexi said as she touch some of the holographic systems. She want to check which Racers still tailing them from behind. Lexi could see there are more than seven cars still tailing them from behind.

"There are 10 kilometers more from the Second Stage area. Drives faster!" Lexi said as she typing on the hologram screen from one to another.

Orange stayed silent as she follows Lexi's instruction.

The explosion keeps appears one after another but that didn't stop Orange to drives forward.

After 10 kilometers driving through the landmines territory, they arrived at the Second Stage.

The Second Stage of the racing ground is very different from the first one. Second Stage is consist of a large land of forest with many hidden traps. If the Racers enter the wrong road, the traps automatically activates.

[You arrived at the Second Stage; the Battle Forest. Be careful here, traps are everywhere. I will provide you a better map so that you can escape smoothly. Good luck!]

From the map device which Lans provides, the hologram screen change into another map. The map shows a few safe ways to avoid every hidden and deadly traps.

Orange turned the steering wheel to the left. The car turned to the left and enters the left road. The red car which tailing from behind them directly entering the previous road.

Fortunately, Orange abandoned that road because there are traps lay within the ground. As soon as the red car drives through the road, the traps activates automatically. A big swinging metal ball swings from the back to the front, hitting the red cars and throw it outside the Battle Forest.

Not caring for the Racers around her, Orange drives her car toward a huge bridge which made by strong wood. The bridge was made higher from the ground, giving advantages to every racing car to avoid the traps on the ground.

From up there, Lexi can see other racing cars moves faster on the ground.

Orange opened another hologram screen beside her. She touches one of many buttons and activates the weapon in Orange's car.

A few small rocket missiles shoots out from the car, flying faster toward other racing cars on the ground.

All of the racing cars quickly avoided the missiles. Some of the are lucky enough to avoid the rocket missiles but there are also some of them unlucky enough to enters the hidden traps area, making their cars unable to move forward again.

"There are two more cars riding on the bridge. Let's speed up!" said Lexi.

Orange quickly double the speed of her cars.

Two racing cars already moves on the other bridges, each of them move from left and right of the bridge which Orange choose.

The racing car from the right side activated their weapons and shoots Orange's car. The shots giving Lexi and Orange a few moments of hard time as Orange tried to avoid the bullets and also prevent the car from falling from the bridge.

Lexi touch another hologram screen. She use the control system to control the machine gun and aimed the car. One press from her finger and the machine gun shoots back at the car.

The scene was so fierce as two cars shooting at each other on the high wooden bridge.

Not enough with that, the other racing car from the left side also used their weapon to shoot at them.

[You couldn't hold both of the teams up there. Move to the ground. Take the right side of the road, it much safer there.]

"Alright!" Orange change the gear and turn the car to the right side, entering the road at her right side.

After they change their way, Lexi activated the rocket missiles, shooting every pole that support the bridge.

After the pole has damaged, the two racing cars which still on the bridge before collapses together with the bridge.

Right at the same time, Orange turn the steering wheel to the right with a sharp move. They managed to avoid the big swinging block that was installed in that area.

"Fuh, we almost got hit by that giant block!" Lexi put her right palm onto her chest and take a deep breath of relief.

[Good. Fifteen more minutes and you could get out from the Battle Forest. Beware of other Racers.]

"Note that." Lexi started to focus her attention to the hologram screen again. She turned her face toward Orange and said, "Turn to the left. That road is the safest one."

Orange stays silent but still follows her order.

From behind, they could hear the sounds of weapons shooting and some explosion.

Some of the Racers has been wiped out from the Battle Forest due to the deadly trap. The others might can avoid the hidden traps but because of it, their times got delayed. Thus, they are still far away from Orange's car.

As soon as their car got out from the Battle Forest, Lexi told Orange to double the car speed.

Since there are no more traps on the road anymore, all they could do for now was speeding up toward the Last Stage and avoiding the other Racers' attack.

Lexi checked upon the hologram screen while communicates with Lans. "What is the Last Stage consist of? Did we have to avoid another traps again?"

[No, the Last Stage is just a simple racing area. You just have to drives through the village.]

Lexi's eyebrows furrows while her fingers stop typing on the screen. "Just that? Why do it look simple?"

[The Last Stage will determine who the fastest Racers that can reach the Finishing Line first. You have to speed up until the finishing line but be careful for the other opponent. They won't let you finish the race before them.]

"They won't have the chance. We will get the first prize," Lexi moved her gaze toward another hologram screen.

"We are still the fastest one. Keep speeding up and don't worry about everything else. I will deal with other Racers," Lexi said to Orange while she busying herself with the weapons system.

Orange looked at Lexi for a few seconds and then, turned her head to the road again.

Lexi take a deep breath. "Alright, let's finish this race!"
