The city

His way back was just as an uneventful as it was coming here. After hours of walking, he saw the city. More precisely, he saw the walls of the city, they were a mere two meters tall but they were long, spanning across the entire city.

He strafed over to the gate, he showed them his adventure token before entering. To Jake, it felt as if the entire process went along a bit too smoothly. The guards must have been weirded out by the cobra heads, Jake thought.

His first goal in the city was to sell somebody to sell these cobra heads to. He went to the first vendor he saw. He threw the cobra heads on the table in front of the vendor, almost as an intimidation tactic. The vendor's face did not bulge. Instead, he quickly blurted out that he would pay 1 silver. Jake tried to haggle but the vendor would not bulge, he took his snakeheads and went to another vendor. He kept doing this until midnight, then he found a vendor at the corner of the street. It seemed a bit more silent than every other store he'd seen, almost as if it were abandoned.

As he walked into the store, he saw multiple different items. From poisons to weapons, to armour, to pets, to... Well almost everything, it almost felt a bit crowded from all the different wares. He saw an old man, inside the store, 'must be the owner' jake thought. The old man had an eye patch and was quite short, he had a white beard and had lost almost all his hair. He had a scar on his left cheek and green eyes.

Jake greeted the man before presenting the heads. Unlike every other vendor the man did not simply offer him a price. He took the heads and looked at them for ten seconds before widening his eyes, this was quite a peculiar reaction as every other vendor had tried to hide their emotions this one almost spelt it out.

"Boy do you know what you have got here," He said as he fidgeted with the snakehead, looking at it from every direction. "This is not any snakehead, its the head of a Sersaides, one of the most poisonous creatures and this one seems fresh. Mind asking boy, do you have a death wish" He kept on talking not giving Jake a chance to respond. "At that, it seems to be quite a big one, you might not look it boy but you truly do have some guts"

Then he took the snakes mouth and stretched it further than Jake thought possible, Jake felt a bulge in his pants and almost started screaming at himself, 'how fucking weird do I get' he thought. The old man then proceeded to take a tool Jake had never seen. It was sharp with a ball at the end of it. He then stuck it into a part of the snake's mouth, just behind the snakes longer teeth. Jake saw a green liquid come out. The man then took out a container of water and put some of the green liquid in there. The water turned dark green and the man gaped, it felt as if the man stretched his mouth longer than the he'd done to the snake. He then blurted out,

"2 silvers, take it or leave it"

To this Jake got a bit flustered, the best deal he had gotten so far was simply one silver and 10 coppers, he immediately accepted. The man thanked him and then proceeded to tell him to come again if he wanted to sell any other wares. Both sides felt as if they had gotten a bargain and Jake left the store happy, whilst the man thought about how stupid the young man had been.

His money issue was solved for a while, he had amassed quite a fortune he thought to himself. Now he had to find his friend, he only knew one thing. His friend loved inns and was surely at one right now.

Jake decided to go hunting, he entered an inn, before scouring the place and then leaving. He earned a lot of mean looks this way. He kept on doing so until he saw the "Golden Hawk". It was an inn at the outskirts of the town, it seemed to be quite popular as he could hear chatter from quite the distance. The bar was at the end of a building line and it was quite large. Outside of it, he could see a bunch of men who had been thrown out, because of being them being way to drunk and rowdy. In the middle of the thrown out men, he saw him, he saw his friend.

"Those fucking zealots, and their oh... fucking idio..." He stood there simply glaring into nothing, "You..think...appreciate...I....work...VERY fucking-hard-for-this... Mother fucke..." he screamed at the door.

Then Jake went forward and greeted him, not by saying hello, more precisely he knocked him out cold. Then he picked him up and started walking towards the inn. Jake would usually be with Rudolf when he would get drunk, Jake would usually stop him before it got to far, however, if it got to far, they had agreed on a process. Jake would force him to an inn, it was inevitable. There was simply no reasoning with Rudolf once he drunk one too many bottles.

He walked with Rudolf to the closest inn, he bought a room for merchants which was quite luxurious enough to accomadate the two of them still cheap. Jake carried Rudolf up the stairs and threw him onto the bed, before falling asleep himself.

Jake woke up before Rudolf, he had always been an early riser. He started meditating, as he was meditating he circled the death energy around his body to get more used to shadow form. It was very easy for Jakes mind to wander to something else, or for him to lose concentration on circling death energy.

Rudolf had quite a large build, he also had a shield. Interestingly enough he had not a sword, he had a breastplate and a helmet but nothing more, almost as if he did not have the money for anything else. Eventually, he woke up. As he opened his eyes he got a bit startled, grabbed his shield and pressed his back against the wall. Only after recognising Jake did he relax.
