13 The End

The whole group never suspected their end so soon. They entered the Dark Forest, facing their fatal fate. The croaks of the bird was filling the forest with a scary aura. The high trees were wide and you could barely see between them. A kind of fog was present which drop the visibility. Just like last time, they were the perfect target.

Mei whispered in Elion's ear "I'm gonna climb the tree. Maybe there's gonna be a better visibility there. Your people need to take a break."

Elion nodded and tell his people to stop. As he did that Mei quickly climbed the tree. When she reached the peak, her face twisted. The forest exented in more then ten kilometers or maybe plus. Cold sweat run on her forehead. She jumped down in a hurry. She was frightened.

"Elion, how long have we been walking?"

Elion scratched his hair "Maybe two hours. Why?"

Mei fell on her knees letting the cold rain splash on her body "We are doomed. We went staight in their trap, it's just a matter of time before they come."

Jack who saw the scene came, running to Mei "What are you talking about?"

"Illusion, that's what I'm talking about. We walk slowly, it's impossible for us to walk ten kilometers in two hours... We aren't in the Cyclop territory"

"Then where are we? Brad made the road! He knows everything about forest, territory..." Jack paused. He realised something, the only person who could have possibly trick them about the road could only be Brad. He turned to him "You! You are the one who set the illusion. For all this time, I wondered how the Guards could still find us. In the end, you're working with them."

Brad laughed evily "Yes, I'm the one who did that. I was first trying to find you Mei, but you offered yourself to this group. The work was easier. You won't survive, you never will!"

Mei charged to him and thrust her sword deep into his heart. Bloop splashed on her face but now she didn't care. She could hear the fast walk of the troops and soon, the scream of scared people.

Elion didn't fight back. He accepted his fate and stared at the river of blood running down his feet. Soon enough, he felt a sword piercing his back. The pain made him scream under the horror look of his son. He smiled for the last time to his beautiful kid who him fight besides Mei. He cried, even though Mei was there, she wouldn't make it. Elion fell on the mud and closed his eyes, letting the darkness take over him.

The rest of group died by the swords of the Guards. The screams scared the birds away and now the ground was no brown but red from blood.

As for Mei and Jack, they fight back until their body didn't have any energy. Our heros died hand in hand, hoping a better future for the next generation.
