6 Lonely Past

Mei was still on the carriage when she suddenly felt dizzy. She felt her consciousness leave her slowly as her eyes closed. Losing her balance, she fell on the ground unconscious. Another time, Mei was lost in darkness. She felt lonely and mostly scared. Since her childhood, she had been alone leaving her to live a dangerous life without love or affection. Guards and the Salvatore was searching her in all the empire which left no place except outside the Walls safe for her.

As far as she can remember, her power never showed up. If they did, she wouldn't have that scar in her back. Just to think of it made Mei suffer, this scar was a constant reminder that the Salvatore knew that she was still alive. In her life, she had tried many times to hide or fight but in the end,it only lead to pain. Even though she was marked, her power weren't strong, the Salvatore knew that so he took the opportunity to kill her. But it seems that every time Mei managed to survive. How she accomplished that was something mysterious to her since every memory of these times were black. She just remember the dead bodies around her and the feeling she had. A feeling of power and fear at the same time.

Mei managed to leave the Dead Empire by dying her hair in brown. It might seems easy but in the poor neighbourhood she lived,it was quite difficult to find dyeing. She had walk two days to reach the North Gate. The Guards there didn't recognize her since she never been there. She had left the Empire with two adults before they left her in the forest. She knew what danger she will have to face. When she starts to live in the forest she was 13. She had live five years trying to escape the Guards, defeat some creatures and hunt. Nothing was easy.

At 15, Mei starts to move. She went to Old Yokuro's City, there she found many weapons. In the past, she had heard that a magical sword need to chose you if you want use it. Weirdly, every sword chose her but only got her attention. Somehow, she had felt the power run into the sword. When she touched it, a bright light could be seen from far away. Mei bet that's how the Salvatore know she's still alive.

Now, Mei remember that she had hid the remaining swords so that they would never be found by the Salvatore. She had quickly left the ruins and found a place to sleep.

Later on, when she was 16, Mei followed a group of clandestine in the Magical Forest but most of them died in an Ogre attack. She managed to save the leader and two kids then she went back to the Yokuro City. It took her seven weeks to come back. She had met many poor people trying to escape from the hard life they had in the Dead Empire. Mei had given food and water before letting them on their own. Near a lake, she saw that her white hair were back except for the end. She tried to avoid the Creatures territory but sometimes if she didn't want to be caught by the Guards she would have to pass in their territory. In her life, she had tried not to provoke people and Creatures to avoid trouble but some were stubborn.

After that, she went to the South where she first saw Jack. She was surprised to see people like her but too scared to go talk to him. Instead, she followed the group but seeing that they were using roads that Guards use too, she went in opposite direction. About five months later, Mei found them again. This time, she didn't let them go. Like a stalker,she followed to group from the trees. They were less people than before and they seemed to starve.

Mei hunt for them and her at the same time. Whenever she could, she would put the meat she had hunt near the fire. Everyone was confused but was glad. Elion asked some of his people to watch the camp. Later on they had found out that someone was putting the food. They watched Mei closely before finally capturing her. It took them days because she often moved.
