4 Caring only for you

After her training, Mei went to her tent that she shared with a girl named Lily. Mei just lie on the ground looking at the top of the tent. She stared blankly, remembering her fight with Elion, mostly the wave of power she had felt. Mei closed her eyes as she remind herself that her parents told her to hide her power. Since her childhood, Mei suppressed her power until she thought it disappeared, but here she is casting lightning spells and throwing fireball at the nicest person in the world.

"You were really impressive, Mei. No one ever beat Elion and this fireball... It was just amazing!!!"

Her high voice made Mei jumped. She straightened up and sighed as she saw the little girl face. Mei patted Lily's hair with affection. "I wouldn't have beat him without the awaking of my power. He's really strong anyway, the Giant he made was perfect. "

Lily nodded "I want to be as strong as him and you. I want to grow up just like you, to be beautiful just like you"

Mei smiled softly as she listened to Lily. She didn't know that Jack was standing behind her listening carefully. "Jack is strong too."

Lily look at her deeply. Unlike Mei, Lily saw Jack "How can you say that ?"

Mei smiled softly "I can sense people strength, his is pretty high. Higher than mine." Mei looked down. She stared blankly " I know he might not think of me the same way I do but he's a good person. I can tell he cared for everyone here. I bet he would protect everyone with his life."

"You're right, I would"

Mei turned around to see Jack staring at her. She did the same. She examined him carefully. Mei now realized how handsome he is. He had piercing blue eyes which seemed bluer when some of his hair fell on his cheeks. He had a perfect jawline, and had a muscled body. Mei avoided his eyes and looked down.

Lily saw Mei's face redden a little bit as she looked at Jack. It wasn't surprising since Jack was super handsome. If Mei want to win his heart, she would have to go through Mary, a beautiful girl who is madly in love with Jack.

Mei suddenly felt awkward. Not only she told good thing about Jack but she also contemplate him. Mei slapped her cheeks which made everyone jump "I didn't know you were there Jack. I hope that you know that eavesdropping is something just a fool does. But dump as you I guess you wouldn't know. "

Lily smirked. She wanted to laugh so much. In this camp, everybody respect Jack and nobody mess with him. Even if he's a bit annoying, everyone know that if you make him mad, you'll be in trouble. Surprisingly, Jack smiled and left the tent.

"Lily, now that he's gone, you can laugh"

Lily burst into laughter. Mei had the guts to tease Jack and humiliate him. Of course, it wasn't much mean but it could still hurt Jack's feeling. But not long after Lily fell silent... She knew that tomorrow they were moving and maybe even fighting, she looked sad. "Mei, tomorrow, we're moving and I'm not sure if I gonna make it."

"Make it?"

Lily sighed " I'm weak Mei,I cannot fight or heal anybody! I'm useless! I'm just a burden..."

Mei snapped "LILY!! You aren't a burden !! Look how young are!! The group is just moving, you don't need to fight!! So stop underestimate yourself or you'll never grow strong !"

Lily began to sob as she was listening to Mei. Feeling a bit guilty, Mei took Lily in her arms, cheering her up.

Watching through the entrance, Elion and his son smiled. Both of them knew that Lily lost her family and since then not a shade of a smile was seen on her face.

Elion's heart warmed as he saw the two hugging tightly. "Mei is like a big sister to her, I guess." He looked at his son "And the first one to call you stupid and a fool"

Jack scoffed " She's a fool too. She thought that would hurt me."

Elion raised an eyebrow in surprise "It didn't hurt your feelings?"

Jack winked at his dad "Nope, she compliment me before, so it compensate."

Elion laughed "Yeah, it does "

The two of them smiled and heard Mei say "I only care for you, little girl"
