224 The Color of Purity

A young boy with blonde hair dressed in a winter uniform hurried through the corridor towards the common room. As soon as he opened the door, he saw his cousin brother was still chilling by the fireplace with a book in his hand.

He sighed, shaking his head helplessly. "Alex."

Unfortunately, Alexander Aubert with his steadfast disposition, did not seem to hear him. His eyes remained fixed on the pages.

So, he called again. This time with a nudge to his shoulder. "Alex!"

Alex frowned. He looked up. When he saw his cousin brother, he let out an irritated scoff before going back to his reading.

"You're ignoring me again!"

"What is it, Charles?" He slammed his book shut. Despite the response, his tone was far from being friendly.

Charles pursed his lips. "Are you really not going?"

He raised an eyebrow before opening his book again. "None of your concern."
