158 Hiroto's Past (1)

[Hiroto POV]

I had never once thought I was unhappy or I wasn't born fortunate. Because the fact was I had been born into an adequately good household. I had been living on easy street. Anything I had needed would be provided. Anything I had wished for would be granted.

Was my family rich? Not really but, we managed. We had always managed to live through it one way or the other. We made do until it was better, until it was good enough for us.

But, had it ever been enough?

I had thought it had. I was fulfilled. My needs were met. There was nothing more I could ask. As long as I was living, that was already a fortunate thing, right? But, I had never been so wrong before. All of it was wrong. There was never the word enough for them. It was in human's nature to crave for more.

From the very beginning, I didn't think it would ever be. I hadn't understood it at first, not until it was too late.
