1 Chapter 1:The Day They Meet

Christmas 2030,

Like any other year, our protagonist Yuuya was spending his Christmas studying in the quite library hall of the campus. He was a bright student, good grades, athletic, on good terms with everyone. Since it was Christmas there were very few people studying in the library, the college campus was also almost empty. Covered in the white snow, the campus was sparkling in the sunlight of the midday.

In the midst of the snow, he saw a white figure walking in it through the window. A girl was walking outside the library hall, maybe, looking for someone. She was wearing a white dress, with white hat on the head. Her hair was sparkling silver with length extending to her waist, pale white skin. She looked as though one of those Elf characters from the Fantasy comics with exception of pointy ears.

It took Yuuya some time to recognize her, but he knew who she was. He walked outside the library and just as he reached the library gates he called out to her,

"Sakura, is that you? It's been a long a long time."

She looked back to him, it took her some time, but she recognized him and with smiling face she replied,

"It's been a long a long time, Yuuya. How are you?"

"I'm fine. But, you certainly have changed in the last 5 years we haven't seen each other."

"You can say that. But, you have changed too."

"Let's go to the café around here, we can talk there properly."

They walked toward the café together. All the memories of the past came flooding to him. The days they spent together, their school days, playing in the fields, studying together, etc.

Also, he remembered the day she suddenly went missing 5 years ago. They searched for her everywhere but couldn't find her. The search continued for next few months but having no positive results, the search was stopped, and everyone lost hope of ever seeing her again.

But she came back out of nowhere, 1 year ago. Her parents were in shock, they completely had lost any hope of seeing her again. When she came back, she was in a completely bad condition. She had frail body, pale skin, her hair turned silver, she couldn't even speak properly. She was like a doll with no soul. But in 1-year time, she improved quite a bit. She could talk normally, she started going out, and could interact with people around her like normal.

When they reached the café, they sat on the table near the window to enjoy the snow outside. Then Yuuya started talking,

"So, how have you been? Are you really fine coming out like this? You still haven't fully recovered yet."

"I'm fine Yuuya, you don't have to worry about me."

"I'm sorry I couldn't come to see you in this past year."

"You don't have apologize."

When Sakura went missing, the one aside from her family who was most depressed was Yuuya. They both were childhood friends and Yuuya liked Sakura. They spent most of the time together. So, when she went missing he was really heartbroken.

"No, I have to apologize. If I were with you on that day 5 year ago, I could have saved you from getting abducted and when you came back after all these years I couldn't bring out the courage to see you."

"I know how you might have been feeling. Please don't blame yourself for what happened back then. "

"Thank you, I won't force you, but can you please tell me what actually happened in those 4 years you have been missing."

She hasn't told anyone yet what happened with her back when she went missing. That was a memory she didn't want to disclose to others.

"I guess, it's about time I should tell you what exactly happened and the reason why I came searching for you today."

"Sure."

"5 years ago, when I was going back from school alone that day, it was raining so I took shelter in the back alley. But suddenly a van parked in front of the alley and a group of people came out of it…"

The group that came out was a shady bunch of people and they were looking for someone. In the midst of rain, she saw a girl running on the road and they started chasing after her. She tried to save her, but they both got abducted by them.

They were later taken to an underground lab facility outside the town. It was a scientific research facility funded by some big names in the corporate world. There they conducted human experimentations for the research of super powers or innate abilities. They abducted so many children for the experimentation.

They were tortured, electrocuted, drugged and went many harsh things all in the name of awakening of such power. She went through such treatment as well. After suffering such pain every day, she just simply all the will to fight back and was like a soulless doll. After 3 years of experimentations they didn't find any result for her. So, they thought of disposing her. But there a good scientist among them who stopped them under pretext of further research. There they found out she has ability to send objects to future or in the past. But, they kept this ability hidden from others.

After some time, children who awakened strong abilities stated to go berserk and started to destroy the facility. They were later executed. The research was deemed failure and to cover up the traces of the research they tried to kill all the test subjects. But a few of them managed to escape with the help of Dr. Phil, the researcher who helped Sakura before. And that's how she came back home a year back.

"I get it now, you suffered for a long time. But things are good now and if you ever need help, I'll be always there for you just remember that."

"Just hearing those words from you is enough to make me feel assured. But, the reason I came to see you today is to use your help card."

"Ok, tell me then what you need my help with."

"You know that there were many test subjects escaped with me that day, right?"

"Yeah."

"One of them had the ability of destruction. When he went out of control he could destroy all the nearby buildings."

"That is some scary ability."

"It gets worse, as his ability recently evolved and might be far destructive than it was before. Because of this he has mentally unstable recently and if situation gets worse he has enough power to destroy the world."

"So, how do we prevent this from happening?"

"I'm afraid there is no way for us to prevent it now that it progressed this much. Our only option is to send you back in time to stop the chain of events that occurred 5 years ago using my ability. But I guess, I'm asking for too much of you."

"If there any way for me prevent from what's happened to you back then, then I will be glad to help you Sakura."

"I'm sorry, but you are the only person I can rely on for this."

"Don't be, so when do I have to depart?"

"We don't have much time left so you will have to depart right now. I'm sorry for not giving you much time to prepare."

"It's not your fault things progressed this far, so don't be apologetic Sakura."

"Thanks Yuuya, I'll cast the runes to send you back in time."

They came out of café and went to an isolated place. She then casted the runes and a magic circle like thing appeared in front of them. Yuuya then stepped into it.

"This time I will definitely save you Sakura! Good Bye."

"Safe journey Yuuya."

And like that Yuuya left on his journey to the past to save Sakura and other test subjects from their fate and to prevent the end of the world.

"I'm sorry Yuuya, but I lied about one thing. The world is going to end today itself. So, our first meeting in such a long time was out last. Farewell Yuu….."

She said this to herself after Yuuya left and as she was about to finish her sentence, the sequence of ending started with a big explosion of antimatter, which engulfed everything within itself.
