19 Shadow Lion

(Floor #70)

After having large battles on almost every floor, Katsuya and Sora still managed to clear them. It was a hard effort due to the monster traveling in large numbers.

Here, they had finally reached the next boss room. Behind it was an S-rank boss.

Katsuya walked in and saw a creature that stood 16-feet tall on all four legs. Its fur was dark and it had a great white mane. Glowing blue fog flowed from eye sockets as it let out a room shaking roar.

{Shadow Lion:

Level:10

Hp: 1,800,000/1,800,000}

"It's time to slaughter another boss. This probably won't be that hard."

[Warning: Enemy has activated 'Shockwave']

The lion opened its month big and wide; a burst of wind shot forward and struck Katsuya. He didn't move an inch but that did not mean he was unharmed. His thought process began feeling slow and he stared at the floor, wondering where he was.

The lion rushed forward and moved it claes through the air.

A bright blue light flashed and a white haired girl appeared, shouting.

"Not today!"

She lifted her blue-bladed sword and easily stopped its claws.

Ching!

Katsuya roughly shook his head and was now fully aware of his surroundings.

"I must've been stunned." He thought to himself.

['Speed Boost' has been activated]

Katsuya dashed forward and smashed his leg into the lions face.

Boom!

(Shadow Lion: Hp: 1,441,880/1,800,000)

The lion slid back a great distance and Katsuya spoke to Sora.

"Okay Sora, we are both going to rush it at the same time. As soon as you're ready."

Her eyes gleamed red as she intensely stared at the monster.

"I'm ready."

"Then let's' go."

With a supersonic speed, Katsuya and Sora both sprinted forward, shaking the air.

(Floor #70, Outside of the S-rank Boss Room)

Guardian the giant pair of red doors was a large group of creatures. Their skin was deformed and was colored dark-red. Their eyes were fully blcak and they all had big white horns sticking out of their heads.

Nari began walking forward as Kenshin stayed behind.

"It's time to meet your end, filthy creatures." said Nari with a dark look in her eyes.

She held her spear back, preparing to throw it as she chanted something.

"Lighting Slaughter: Follower by spear!"

Her spear launched through the air, spinning like a boomerang. Flashes of blue light followed as It danced through the air; it chopped the creatures apart as it passed through them.

Slash.

Shink.

Slash.

Shink.

"Now, stop." Nari commanded.

Her spear stopped midair, as if it was just floating.

She then spoke on more command to her weapon.

"Return."

Steadily, the spear started flying through the back towards her.

Nari held out her hand and gracefully caught the weapon mid-air.

Kenshin was feeling a bit left out, mainly because of the fact he had not even had the chance to kill any monsters yet. All 70 floors they had passed through, Nari did all the work. He questioned his very participation.

Was it even needed?

"Well, I should've just stayed home today." He thought to himself.

"Well, shall we go to the boss room?" Nari asked.

"Yeah but, do you mind if I fight this boss?" Kenshin replied.

Nari walked over to the doors and put her hand against them.

"Nope. It's my job to carry out judgment on monsters. I thought I already told you?"

She glared at him. Reacting to her stare, he replied.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot."

With a sudden shove, the doors flew open. In the room was something Neither Nari or Kenshin had expected.

Inside was a boy who wore a long brown coat. He was none other than Katsuya. Blue blood was smeared all across the floor and next to him was a headless lion. There was no sign of life in its body. Katsuya kneeled down and picked a small glowing orb off of the ground and placed it in his pocket.

"Once I leave this dungeon, I'll have more than enough money to pay off the medical bills for this month."

When he stood back up, he noticed Nari and Kenshin and right away, Katsuya knew who they both were.

He really was quite surprised as he had thought nobody would come to rescue him from the depths of the dungeon.

Unfortunately, their help wasn't needed; Katsuya was now able to defeat bosses all on his own.

Katsuya began walking over to them when suddenly, Nari had pointed her spear at him. Out of reflex, Katsuya stopped.

"Hold it right there? What's your name?" Nari asked.

A sweat ran down Katsuya's cheek and he felt nervous, knowing he was at her mercy.

"I-I'm an adventurer. My name is Katsuya."

It was shocking news for the two Legendary-rank adventurers. The chances for his survival was near 1%.

Katsuya had told Nari who he was just like she had requested. So, She lowered her spear and allowed him to walk closer while she spoke.

"We were sent here to find and rescue you. We will escort you out."

Katsuya walked right past her, replying.

"I can get out myself."

He was rudely met by Nari grabbing his wrist and glaring at him. Her eyes flickered yellow with rage.

"I said we'll escort you. Unless, you'd rather fight."

Katsuya knew he should avoid escalating the situation any further.

After all, she was a legendary ranker; she could easily kill him if for some reason she decided to.

She still tightly held his wrist as he let out a sigh.

"Alright, I'll let you escort me. Under one condition though…"

Kenhsin feared that whatever he was about to say was going to anger Nari.

He thought to himself.

"He's dead if he says something dumb. Nari will wreck him without hesitation. Hopefully his condition is reasonable to her."

Katsuya then continued his sentence.

"...you let me fight any monsters we happen to come across."

Nari's expression darkened and Kenshin noticed the atmosphere grew somewhat terrifying.

Kenshin was sure that Katsuya had done it, he had really made her mad and he was quite possibly going to be met with destruction.

Silence filled the air as Nari tightened her grip on Katsuya's wrist.

She came to a concussion in her thoughts.

"He has a strong will to carry out judgment on monsters. He's just like me."

Suddenly and unexpectedly, she released her grip, letting go of Katsuya's wrist.

She spoke.

"Very well, I'll allow it."

There was no sign of hostility in her voice. It actually seemed quite softened and calm. Kenhsin stood in disbelief; it was unlike Nari to allow someone else to fight monsters. Most of the time if it was up to her, she would usually do the fighting by herself. That fact made her decision all the more surprising.

"If we're going to get out of here then let's go." said Katsuya as he began walking ahead of them.

"R-Right." Nari replied as she followed behind.
