17 Karma Is Harsh

There, Katsuya was perched up against the dragon's lifeless blue-scaled body. Giant marks of blood were smeared across the floor. Across from Katsuya, laid the head of the water dragon.

"Ah...that was a pretty easy fight but that thing did land a couple good hits. My shoulders feel all stiff now."

"With these stats, I'm on the level of a high-ranking Gold-ranker."

The average Gold-rank was equal to around 4 low-rank Silver-rankers.

Katsuya then remembered something Sora had said.

"Wait, Sora, didn't you say something about you being able to fight alongside me once I reached level fifty?"

A bright-blue light shone in the corner of his view. When it vanished, standing there was a white haired girl with bright-red eyes; it was Sora.

"Yes, I did. Now that you reached level fifty, I will be able to fight alongside you. My stats will be as high as fifty percent of your stats."

Katsuya stood up, grabbing his sword.

"Here, catch."

He threw it over to her as she gracefully caught it with her hand.

"What's this for?" She asked.

"When I tell you to materialize, you can use that. At this rate, I don't need a weapon."

He began walking off as he continued.

"Show me the directions on how to get to the higher floors. I think I'm ready to fight the boss."

In reality, he was unsure whether or not he would be able to solo a Silver-rank boss but, he knew he had to try.

Meanwhile...

(Floor #59)

It had only been a short time since Kenshin and Nari had entered the dungeon and they had already cleared a great number of floors.

Their footsteps echoed through-out the area as they kept advancing.

"Katsuya, the boy we're supposed to save. Do you think he survived?" Kenshin asked.

Nari then replied.

"If he survived the fall, I seriously doubt he is able to survive an encounter with a monster on the lower levels. But, that's why I'm here, so I can carry out judgement on monsters for all the bad deeds in their life."

Kenshin was able to sense a viscous energy from her as she spoke. Even though he was much stronger than her, she gave off an intimidating feeling.

"Right, of course." He replied.

Nari stopped walking as she held her spear out to the side, stopping Kenshin from walking as well.

He was about to ask "What's wrong" but he caught on right away.

He saw the evil look in her eye as she stared forward.

Not too far away, was a group of monsters, rushing towards them.

The creatures had deformed red skin and their eyes would glow yellow.

"I'll carry out judgment," said Nari.

Her eyes flickered a bright yellow color as she charged forward.

She was extremely fast and each step she took would shake the air around. A blue stream of light followed the movements of her spear as she rapidly slashed and stabbed away at each monster.

Swoosh.

Swip.

Each creature that was hit instantly tore to shreds.

She continued to slaughter them left and right as Kenshin thought to himself.

"This is why she is feared among the adventurers. Nobody can match her killing intent. This is why even I fear her. "

Her eyes were opened wide and she wore a giant corrupted smile on her face.

"Time for my finishing move. Judgment Storm!!!"

Suddenly, a violent wind began spinning in circles around her, followed by blue streams of light. The entire area was shaking and the monster began ripping apart as their blood splattered across the wall and floors.

It was unlike anything Kenshin had ever seen.

It was like a deadly tornado specifically made for killing.

Nari swiftly moved her and through the air and the wind suddenly calmed and everything was normal again.

Kenshin proceeded forward, approaching her.

"Did you really have to use such an attack? They are just S-rank monsters. I'm sure you could've easily handled all of them without it."

She glared at him, replying as the yellow color in her eyes lit up.

"No monster deserves mercy."

"Whatever you say. Let's keep going." Kenshin replied as he continued walking forward.

(Floor #60)

After countless minutes of walking, they had approached a giant pair of red doors.

Nari stood in front of it, confidently. A violent gust of wind shot forward and the doors flew open with great force.

A giant red snake sat at the other end of the room. As it noticed Nari and Kenshin walk in, it lifted its head up in the air and began hissing.

"Can I handle this one?" Kenshing asked.

Nari shook her head and began walking forward.

"I'm Karma, not you. I will be the one to carry out judgment."

Each step she took showed her confidence and power.

With incredible speed, the snake slithered across the room. Its mouth opened wide and it launched forward, inches away from her face.

With no fear Nari grinned and the snake suddenly tore to shreds.

Boom!

Green blood splattered into the air and Nari hadn't moved a muscle.

Splat!

"And that is judgment."

Kenshin had several questions he asked himself.

"She's always talking about judgment, why does she hate monsters so much? I mean, yea monsters are evil but, her hate for them is on a whole other level."

He walked over to her and hesitated before asking "I wonder why you hate monsters enough that you're killing them everyday. You mind telling me why that is?"

She shot a harsh glare at him as her yellow eyes glimmered.

"Why do you ask? Do you think they deserve mercy? Do you have an issue with me carrying out judgment?"

Kenshin immediately noticed the hostility towards him with each word she said. He felt his body nervously drenched in sweat as he thought to himself.

"Woah, I better be careful. One wrong move and I may lose my life."

He could feel the intensity from her stare as he spoke.

"Umm… of course not. Maybe we should continue looking for the boy..so you could carry out your judgement, that is."

With a swift and sudden movement, she turned around and started walking.

"You're right. These monsters need to be slaughtered."

After surviving the harsh look from her eyes, Kenshin let out a breath of relief.

"Glad that moment is over." He thought to himself.
