4 Genzo And Jill

Next Day...

One push up, then another. Katsuya was on the living room's wooden floor, lowering then lifting himself. The more push ups he did, the more he felt as if his arms were noodles.

"45...46...47...48...49...50..51..." His arms gave out as his face slammed against the floor. Katsuya laid still for a couple seconds then slowly stood up. His face had a great big red mark on it as he rubbed it.

"Ouch...that was not fun."

He snatched the t.v remote off the couch and clicked the power button.

The screen lit up as it showed a woman. In the background was debris and a building that laid in dusty ruins.

{Monster Attack Destroys Building, Killing 34 people}

Katsuya stared at the t.v as he wondered what had happened. Although monster attacks were pretty common, one of this scale was rare.

The woman began speaking.

"As you can see, there is a building behind that now lies in ruins. From what witness have told us is that a group of monsters began rampaging through the city. That's when the Platinum-rank adventurer, Eiji showed up. Luckily, he was able to defeat the monsters, stopping further damage."

Eiji was one of the strongest adventurers in the nation. Worldwide, he was in the top ten, almost at the top of the power scale.

Then there was Kisho, a man who deserved a rank of his own.

{Top 10 Strongest Adventurers Worldwide:

But there were adventurers just as strong in the "Alternate World".

"I bet it's great to be strong." Katsuya thought to himself.

He then pulled out his phone and looked at the time.

{10:49 A.M}

"I guess it's about time to head to the guild."

Katsuya grabbed his grey hooded jacket and quickly threw it on. He didn't really care about how he looked. Right now, his only goal was to earn enough money to pay for his mother and sisters medical bill. If he failed to pay it by the end of the month, the hospital would be forced to take them off of the life-support machine. It was sad, but that's just the way the world was. Caring more about money than some random citizens.

(Beast Slayer's Guild)

He stood in front of the wooden counter as he spoke to the female guild worker.

"I've been trying to clear a d-rank dungeon but it's just too hard for me. Is there any way to put together a team of adventurers to help me?"

"There sure is." The woman replied.

"Well, how do I do it?"

Katsuya was good at talking when he actually had to, but when he tried to force himself to talk, he would stutter a lot.

The guild lady replied.

"Just stand by the door and ask somebody for help. It's not that hard of a job."

Even though Katsuya was non a paper boy or a door to door salesman, he couldn't help but feel as if he was trying to sell something.

Hours passed as each adventurer declined his request. Katsuya was beginning to feel worn out and debating whether or not he should give up.

A girl with long brown hair and black-colored eyes walked in. She wore

a small unbuttoned brown coat with dark jeans. Next to her, was a man with black hair and yellow-colored eyes. He wore a long brown coat and had a sword hanging by his side.

Katsuya was about the same size as the girl, but the man she was with was around five-feet ten-inches tall. As for Katsuya, he was only five-feet six-inches tall. He stared at them as they approached the counter and began talking to the guild worker. Katsuya was unsure if they would deny his request just like everyone else, or with luck, maybe even accept it.

He decided to take on the last chance and began walking towards them.

"E-Excuse me."

The man turned his head to look at Katsuya.

"What is it, kid?"

The man wore a somewhat intimidating face and Katsuya was a bit unsettled.

"U-Um, I was wondering if maybe, you guys could help me clear a d-rank dungeon."

After a couple seconds of silence, the man began laughing as he put his arm around katsuya's shoulder, pulling him closer.

"Ha, is that really all you need? At first I was thinking that you were some kind of beggar. What's your name, kid?"

Katsuya had never met a friendlier stranger in his life. The man seemed trustworthy and looked as if he was a strong adventurer.

Katsuya then replied.

"I'm Katsuya."

"Alright, kid. My name is Genzo and I'm a d-rank Advnturer."

Genzo then turned and put his hand on the brown haired girl's shoulder as he continued.

"And this is Jill. We'll help you out with your dungeon raid today. Don't forget to pay us once we're done though."

Katsuya was sure that they were going to be able to clear the dungeon with no problem. He had a feeling that he was finally going to be able to pay off some of his mother's medical bill, but little did he know that d-rank dungeon only paid around 500 dollars upon completion.

Katsuys held out his hand towards Genzo.

"N-Nice to meet you, sir."

Genzo firmly shook hands with him.

"Nice to meet you too, Katsuya. Also, don't call me sir, just call me Genzo."

Jill walked over to the door as she turned back around to look at Genxo and Katsuya.

"I'll be waiting outside. Try not to take too long talking. I really feel like learning that dungeon."

She then walked out, closing the door behind her.

Genzo smiled as he slowly shook his head.

"That's my daughter for you. She's always the type that wants to clear dungeons right away."

(Forest)

Katsuya was already told what Genzo's rank was, but wondered about Jill's.

"So Jill, I was wondering what your rank was."

As they kept walking, there was still no response from her. She looked as if she was ignoring him.

"Oh, I guess I probably shouldn't have asked." Said Katsuya.

Genzo noticed the tension and explained.

"Don't mind her, she doesn't really like to talk to new people that much. She's probably just embarrassed to talk to boys. As matter of fact, she's single, you two seem like you would get along if you talked."

Jill's face reddened and she seemed a bit flustered.

Her walking came to a stop as she shouted at him.

"W-Wait, don't just make decisions for me! Damit, Dad! Also, what makes you think I'm single?!"

Katsuya wondered why Genzo thought that they would get along. They only had one thing in common, and that was their shyness. Other than that, they were polar opposites.

Genzo turned to look at Jill as he wore a smirk.

"Oh, so my little girl has a boyfriend?"

"Well, no." She replied.

Genzo chuckled as he turned back around, continuing his talking.

"See, so you are single."

He then glanced towards Katsuya and gave him a wink.

"If you guys do happen to get along, take good care of her."

Katsuya nervously smiled as a sweat ran down his cheek.

"O-Okay."

Genzo then let out a sigh.

"Well, I guess we better get going."

They then continued their walk.
