12 The Nerdy Best Friends Are Back

"What are you saying?! That's impossible!" Coulyne said to me with a frowning look on her face. Claire made the same face too.

"She's not her best friend! You can already tell!" Claire added to Coulyne's statement. I sighed then looks at Katrina.

She's looking down and I could tell that she's crying because the droplets of her tears are on the floor where she's looking down.

"I-Is that true?... Is that really you, K-Katrina?..." Sarah asked her with her crying eyes. I can tell that Sarah is in pain.

This is like a drama I sometimes watch every night. I smirked to myself as I look at them. Coulyne and Claire are still bewildered.

"H-How did you know?" She suddenly asked without looking at me. I sighed before answering her question.

"It's because of the picture I saw on Sarah's I.D. You have the same thing." I answered her in my normal tone. She finally looked at me.

She is really crying so hard. Sarah got shocked after seeing Katrina's face.

"W-What are you talking about the same thing?" She asked again, confused.

"Let me borrow your I.D. for a few seconds." I told Sarah. She then immediately lent her I.D. to me.

I pointed the wrist of the girl beside Sarah and I told them, "This scar is the same as yours, Katrina." I told her.

"When did you know the scar on my wrist?" She asked confusingly. They are all waiting for my answer.

"The time when I held your hand when you were trying to touch Coulyne after she accidentally bumped into you." I asnwered her question. She immediately lookec away.

I gave the I.D. back to Sarah but her attention is still focus at Katrina. While Katrina is just looking down, looking drained.

"A-All this time... you are Katrina Laveste..." Sarah said as if she is feeling something strange inside her.

"I'm sorry, Sarah... I was jus-"

"I missed you! You never know how much I wanted to be with you again!" Sarah interrupted Katrina and ran onto her to hug her tight.

"But-"

"I don't care about the things you did to me, you are still my best friend! I told you before that whatever happens, I will still look at you the same way." Sarah said as she hugged Katrina.

Katrina's face was shocked because of what she said. Her overflowing emotions broke. She started crying with a genuine smile on her face.

Are they in good terms now? Finally, I can go home.

"Hey, Raver!" Coulyne suddenly clinged on my shoulder and smiled at me so I looked away in an instant.

"What do you want from me?" I asked her in a cold tone. She then giggled.

"I didn't know you are an expert in helping people! I always thought you hate them." She said while mimicking my face. I rolled my eyes because of what she did.

"I didn't help them. I did it for myself. I just want to go home." I said in a monotonous voice. She then chuckled.

"P-President, can we consider this as a community service?" Claire walked to us and asked Coulyne.

"I think so, too. Since they are part of the community. What do you think, Raver?" Coulyne asked me. Claire's expression turned into something tired.

"Whatever. Just call it anything you want." I said to her in a cold tone. She laughs because of my reaction.

"Let's just think of this as a CCR service," she said, still laughing.

She is always like this. Every time she sees my reaction, she will laugh like I said something funny when in fact, I'm being serious.

Who would fall for this girl?

If a guy did fall for her, he must be out of his goddamn mind.

"Woah! That's a good name! Coulyne, Claire, and Raver!" Claire commented happily, her eyes are twinkling.

Man, seriously. Why do I need to be with these girls?

"Raver, thank you very much." Sarah said that made me turn to their direction, they are both smiling at me.

"I didn't help you at all." I said then rolled my eyes. They both laugh at it so I look at them with my one eyebrow rose up.

Even after a long time they didn't hang out with each other, they still laugh the same way.

They really are best friends.

[Katrina Laveste's POV]

"I don't care about the things you did to me, you are still my best friend! I told you before that whatever happens, I will still look at you the same way."

That was what she told me. It melted my heart. I didn't expect this.

I'm expecting hurtful words from her and she will break our friendship, but it didn't happened. The one that happened was the complete opposite of what I'm thinking.

Now, as I look at her watching the three students who helped us fighting, it makes me think to myself.

She is too good for me. I didn't deserve her to be my best friend. She deserves better.

But...

I still don't want to leave her. I want to be with her. So I will be better.

No matter what happens, we will face everything together. We are the only ones who can help each other. I will stop making decisions by myself.

Because what's better than having a romantic relationship...

Is a best friend who will hold you until the end.

[End of Katrina Laveste's POV]

"Let's just go. It's getting dark already." I told them. Claire looks at Coulyne and asked her.

"What time is it, president?" Coulyne immediately checked her watch to look at the time.

"It's 5:27. We really need to go." We both agreed to leave now. But before that, we need to say goodbye to them.

"We are going now! Take care always!" Claire said to them with a sweet smile. Coulyne smiled at them too and I didn't do anything.

We are about to go the door to leave but unfortunately, they came.

"Thank you for your hel-"

"So you finally betrayed us, huh?" Jade Hontiveros said, raising her one eyebrow at Katrina.

Her friends looks loke ugly ducklings when you see them this close.

I'm glad I was born like this.

"I'm tired following your orders. Seeing you here makes me want to puke." Katrina said that made them mad.

They were about to attack them, but they noticed that we're here. So they stopped what they were planning.

"Remember this nerds! The start of your miserable life will now begin!" Jade Hontiveros shouted before she left the rooftop.

After they left, that's when we decided we should leave.

"Let's meet again someday!" They both shouted at us, as we walk down the stairs.

When we are near at the library, we saw professor Smith and professor Jimmy outside. They probably finished what they were doing earlier.

When they both saw us walking to their direction, they both sighed heavily.

"Where did you go? Did you walk all around the academy? It took you so long." Professor Smith said to us.

"We need to go home. It's getting late." Professor Jimmy added.

"Thank you for your kind cooperation, professor Whert." Professor Smith then shook his hand as a sign of generosity.

"You're always welcome. Natividad University is always welcome to our library." Professor Whert replied, waving his hand as we started walking to the gate.

After 4 minutes of walking, we reached the gate. The student council are waiting for us.

They really wait for us? I thought they left already.

"Thank you for assisting us." Professor Jimmy told the president of the Richster Academy's student council.

"We are happy to help you, professors. Be careful on your way home," he then replied.

They waved their hands to us until we got inside professor Jimmy's car. As soon as we got in, he played a song.

*The Man Who Can't be Moved playing*

"Going back to the corner where I first saw you, gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move..." Professor Jimmy jams to the song.

We have been silent for about 5 minutes, until professor Smith said something that lessen the weight of the atmosphere around us.

"We are just going to stop at the university, we are not going to take you home," she said and we just nodded.

"By the way, where did you go earlier? We thought you have been lost," she said with concern in her voice.

She is concern about us, huh? This is just a scam.

"We just helped two people while we were waiting for you to finish what you were doing." Coulyne answered truthfully. I looked at her wth confusion.

"Oh? You helped people? In what way?" Professor Smith asked in an amused tone.

I look at Coulyne, giving her a 'Don't tell her!' look. But she just giggled and I knew that she will not listen to me.

She's always teasing me.

"They have been separated for a long time because of some reason and we helped them. They are in good terms now so I think we succeed.

"Really? Did Raver contributed anything?" She asked again, with sarcasm in his tone.

"Yes, professor. In fact, he was the one who thought of the plan that we used." I look at her with a dead expression.

She just made a teasing face on me then laughed. I rolled my eyes and take my eyes on the road again.

"Really? Raver? You changed really fast! I thought it would take months or years before that stone heart of yours soften." Professor Smith said im exaggeration.

"Shut up." I told her in a cold tone. They all laughed because of what I replied, including Claire and professor Jimmy.

After 10 minutes of driving, we reached the university. Just like what she said, they are just going to leave us here.

"We will leave you here now. Be careful on your way home! Be careful on the passing cars!" Professor Smith reminded us before she left, together with professor Jimmy.

"Do you think something is going on between those two?" Claire asked curiously to us while we're working together.

Come to think of it. This is the first time we will walk together. Well, I don't really care.

"Yeah. It is kind of obvious. Well, it would not be surprising if they suddenly started dating. They look good with each other." Coulyne replied to Claire's question.

Luckily, two cars came to fetched the both of them. Claire immediately left after she got inside the car. I was about to leave when Coulyne's butler called me.

"Mister, thank you for taking care of Milady," he said then bowed his head. I don't know what to do in this kind of situation.

"Y-You're welcome." I said, nervous. Is he going to report me to Coulyne's Dad?

"Goodbye, Raver! Be careful on your way home!" I looked away. I don't want to see her annoying face.

I got home after 10 minutes of walking. I checked the mailbox and there is a letter inside.

After I red the letter, I immediately ripped the paper and I threw it in the garbage can.

"I'm home." I said before taking my shoes off and wearing slippers.

After doing everything I need to do in the house, I went to my room to sleep already. I have a job tomorrow. I don't want to be late.

I woke up at 7:00 in the morning. I prepared the uniform I am going to use and ate my breakfast. My work starts at 7:30 but I will make it on time because the fast food chain is just near to my house.

"I'm leaving." I closed the door and locked it. The sun has already risen. Gladly, it is not going to rain today.

After 10 minutes of running and walking, I reached the fast food chain on time. It had just opened so no one was inside yet.

"Oh, good morning, Raver. You're early today, huh?" Manager approached me with a smile on his face.

I'm not close with the other workers here but they don't hate me. Manager Prick is always guiding me so I am not pressured when he's around.

"Good morning, sir." I said to him before going to the back of the store. I put my things inside my locker before I start working.

I checked the time and it's now 8:00 A.M and the customers are starting to come in. I need to be prepared.

"Raver, can you substitute Mike for a minute, please?" Manager Prick called me so I immediately came to him.

"Where, sir? In the counter?" I asked him. He nodded at me while he's doing his work.

"I gave him something important to do so he'll be out here. Go there and take the customers' orders," he told me and I immediately followed him.

Luckily, I have learned how to talk to customers a little because I need to. I need to earn money so I need to bear with it.

"Good morning, ma'am! Welcome to Burger Burger! What's their order?" I asked the lady.

"I want two regular medium burger and coke as the drink," she answered. I nodded to her.

"Is that all, ma'am?" I asked her again.

"No. That's all, thank you," she answered. I gave her a number for her order.

"Just wait for your food to be served! Thank you for coming! Have a nice day!" I said to her before she left to go to her table.

"Good morning! Welcome to Burger Burger! What's their orde-"

I was busy placing the order of the lady so I was shocked when I looked at the next customers.

"We will have two regular burger, water and pineapple juice, sir!" Coulyne said, emphasizing the word sir. Claire is beside her.

What are they doing here?! How did they find this place?! More importantly, how did they know that I am working here?! This is ridiculous!
