13 Hoverload Elementary School

"What are you doing her-"

"Two regular burger, water and pineapple juice, sir." Coulyne interrupted me then chuckled.

I looked at her with my frowning look. She's just enjoying this! I really hate this girl!

"Anything else, ma'am?" I asked her with force smile. I heard Claire laughed.

After a few seconds of looking at the screen menu, she said, "Nothing, sir. That's all, thank you."

I almost smashed the machine where I'm putting the orders because of her. She smiled in a teasing way.

"Okay, ma'am. Just wait for your orders. And please don't come back here again!" I said to them. They left the counter, trying hard to hold their laugh.

This is ridiculous! Did someone tell them everything that's why they are here?

I was thinking to myself and I whispered, "Or maybe they are also with professor Smi-"

"Hello, sir. You are spacing out." That old woman said with one side of her lips rose up.

They are also here?! They even brought professor Jimmy with them! Seriously, what is happening right now?!

"H-Hello. Welcome to Burger Burger. What's their order?" I asked them with the same face I made to Coulyne.

"Just like what the two pretty girls before us ordered." Professor Smith answered to me. I nodded at her and turned my attention to the machine.

This is so awkward! They are all here! I wish whoever told them about this will have a bad day.

"Okay, ma'am. Just wait for your orders. And please don't come back here again!" I said to her the same thing I said to Coulyne.

Professor Smith is a type of person who couldn't hold her laugh, so she laughed because of what I said.

It was the reason why my co-workers looked at me. When my two professors left, one of my co-workers approached me and asked.

"Do you know that two professors?" He curiously asked me with his one eyebrow rose up. I looked at her dead in the eyes.

"Not a single atom. If I know them, I will definitely regret living." I answered him in a cold tone. He swallowed then nodded.

"Right. You are not that kind of person. What am I even thinking?" He said before laughing awkwardly. He went back to his work after our conversation.

"Thank you for your help, Raver. I will handle the counter now." Mike told me when he came back. I nodded to him.

"Don't mention it." I said before leaving him. I went to the back to get the orders to give it to the customers.

When I got inside, manager Prick is arranging the stocks.

"Why are you here? Is Mike back?" He asked me. I nodded at him and took my apron to wear it.

"Yeah. He's dealing with the customers already." I replied to him. When I looked around, a lot of things were missing.

I just ignored it. I took the orders and I gave it to the customers. But every time I come back, I can't help but notice the missing things.

"Hey, manager. Where did you put the other things we have here? Did you sell it?" I asked him curiously.

"Of course, not. We are taking all the things here to the other shop. I haven't told you yet?" He looked at me, confused. I looked at him too, confused.

"No, you haven't. Why do you have to do that?" I asked him again. He sighed then sat on a chair.

The cooks are still cooking the customers' orders so we can talk for a moment,

"The higher-ups said it, we can't do anything about it. I think they will close this shop and focus more to the other shop near the main city," he explained to me.

"They want to focus on the other shop because it's in the main city. More people will come, more money they will get, am I right?" I said, scratching my chin.

"That's what I think so, too. This place is in a close area so we often have customers. Maybe that's also the reason why," he then sighed.

I think we can't really do anything about their decisions. We're just working to them. This is just normal.

If that's the case, I have to find another job. I don't want to work on the other shop. It's far.

"Raver, bring these orders to table number 65!" I immediately moved to take the orders.

I looked around to find the table 5 and it was infortunate. It's their table! If this is not for work, I will leave them without looking back.

"Table number 65, your orders. Enjoy your meal." I said, putting the food above their table. They both looked at me with their ugly faces.

"Thank you, sir. We will definitely enjoy this." Coulyne replied, emphasizing the word definitely. I left their table holding the tray firmly, like it's going to break.

"Raver, bring these orders to table number 7! Thank you!" I immediately took the tray and searched for the table.

I was about to give the work to the other waiters, but I saw that they are busy too so I have no choice.

"Here are your orders, enjoy your meal." I said to them aftef I put their foods above the table.

That old woman looked at me and said, "Thank you, sir. We will definitely enjoy this."

They said the same thing! Is this some kind of telepathy? Or some connection between demons?

"Waiter!" I was about to leave when Coulyne called me. I know she's referring to me because the other waiters are still busy.

What does she want now?! She's really getting into my smallest nerves!

"Yes, ma'am? Do you need some help? Is there any problem?" I asked her with a forced smile.

She handed me the container of the ketchup so I looked at it confusingly. She's just smiling at me. Claire is busy eating her food.

"What do you want me to do with this ma'am?" I asked her, confused. She just chuckled and it made me annoyed more.

"Can you refill the ketchup for us?" She requested with a smile. My blood immediately starts boiling.

"Pardon?" I asked, leaning my ears closer to hear her.

"I said, can you refill the ketch-"

"Definitely not, ma'am. Get your body out of your chair and refill it yourself. If you don't want to, just use water as the sauce, thank you." I said before leaving them without looking back.

She was really testing me, huh? I'm not her slave. That's an easy thing to do, why does she have to get others' help?

15 minutes had passed but very few customers are coming. Maybe their decision to focus on the shop in the main city was right.

"Raver, the 4 customers are calling you." Manager Prick said to me after she went inside. I looked at him, confused.

"Which customers?" I asked him. I think I already know who they are.

"The two professors and two students," he answered. I stood up and let out a heavy sigh.

After I left the room, I looked at them and Claire was waving at me. I took a deep breath before going to their table.

"What do you want?" I asked them in a cold tone. I sat beside Coulyne because there are no space left.

"We will going to talk about the next school we're going to. Tomorrow is the deadline so we need to hurry." Professor Smith answered. I just nodded at her.

"What about the books that we have collected? Where are those stored?" I asked again.

"It's inside the Science Department Office. You don't have to worry." Professir Jimmy answered my question.

"The total of the books that we collected was 126. That's a lot amount of books already, but if we can collect more, we will be able to give more." Professor Smith added.

She's right. Although, we can talk to different schools and universities, we don't have enough time to go to all of them. It would cause too much time.

"By the way, how you know I'm working here?" I asked them in a dead tone. That took all their attentions.

"Oh, that? Your manager told us while we were searching for you in different fast food chains." Coulyne answered.

"We asked him if he is working with a waiter named Raver Xyle Sarmiento. Then, he guided us here." Claire continued the story.

I sighed heavily before looking at the back room. Manager Prick is peeking through the door, waving his hand with a wide smile on his face.

"Raver, don't be like that! We are not causing problems to you." Professor Smith said then sighed after sipping her water.

"You are not causing problems to me. You are the problems." I said in a monotonous tone. They laughed because of what I said.

I felt my body electrify when Coulyne's hand accidentally touch mine. I looked at her in shocked, while she looked at me with one side of her lips rose up.

"Do you want to hold my hands?" She asked whispered to me. I felt something strange after she did it.

Professor Smith, professor Jimmy, and Claire are busy so they doesn't notice us.

"Hell, no. I don't even want to touch your ski-"

My body froze when she intertwined our hands together. She tighten her hold of my hand.

"Well, I do," she whispered again then gave me a sweet smile. I'm still processing what's happening right now.

I don't feel anything. I'm just shocked. Even if she's beautiful, I still hate her.

There's no way I would be thrilled when she holds my hand.

"Anyway, Raver, what time will your shift end?" Professir Smith suddenly asked. I put her hand away from me in an instant.

"It's 3:00 later in the afternoon." I answered her. She sighed because of my answer.

"That would kill our remaining time. Can you just follow us after you finish your shift? I'll just give to you the address." Professor Smith suggested.

"Whatever. Do what you want." I said to her in a dull tone.

"I will just message you the address when we get there. We're leaving now. Make sure you will follow, are we clear?" Professor Smith said to me.

"Yeah. Just leave already." I said in a cold tone.

They stood up and took their things to leave the shop. After they left, I immediately went back to the back room.

"Actually, you can end your shift now." Manager Prick suddenly showed up with a smile on his face.

"What do you mean? I still have more hours to work." I said to him, raising one of my eyebrows.

To be honest, I'm insisting because I don't want to go with them. Their annoying. It's better to be here.

"There are only few customers so you don't have to worry, we can handle the shop. You can go now and do that important stuff of yours. Don't make them wait." Manager Prick told me.

I sighed and just nodded. I know that I won't win if I kept on arguing with him.

"Oh? Why are you here? I thought the end of your shift is 3:00 in the afternoon?" Professor Smith asked confusingly. The other three looks confused too.

"Manager told me that I can go now. He gave me a permission, that's why I'm here." I said to them in a tired tone.

I will be with them again. How annoying. I thought yesterday was the last time we will be together.

"Then, that's good! We are complete now!" Coulyne happily said then clung to my arms, smiling.

I looked at her in disgust. I took her away from me and started walking ahead of them. I heard them laugh except for Claire.

"Is this school you are talking about just near or far?" I asked Professor Smith while we're walking to professor Jimmy's car.

"This school is near, don't worry. After 10 minutes of driving, we'll get there right away," she simply answered.

When we got inside the car, professor Jimmy played a song just like yesterday, I think he really likes music.

*Iris by Goo Goo Dolls playing*

"And I'd give up forever to touch you... 'Cause I know that you feel me somehow... You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be... And I don't want to go home right now..." Now, Claire is the one who's singing.

Coulyne is sitting in the middle while Claire and I are beside her. I turned my attention to the road through the window beside me.

"Do you want to hold hands again?" Coulyne suddenly whispered to me. I rolled my eyes and it made her laugh.

"It didn't change. My heart is still beating fast when I'm with you," she said out of the blue. I looked at her and she's smiling the same way when she's teasing me.

She was just kidding.

What does she mean it didn't change? Have we met before? I don't know what she's talking about.

I don't want to know.

"We're here. Get your things." Professor Jimmy said after 10 minutes of driving.

"Hoverload Elementary School?" Claire asked confusingly.

"Yeah. I talked to the librarian here and they told me they have different kind of unused books for kids. We can donate it to the orphanages." Professor Smith explained.

When we got inside, the place really looks like for kids. The paintings on the walls are different flowers and animals.

There are also children playing outside. This place feels so light. Everything feels nostalgic.

"Welcome to the Hoverload Elementary School! I'm going to assist you to the library." A teacher greeted us with two children holding on her both legs.

A girl and a boy. I think they are 3 years old already. They look cute in their small uniforms.

"Thank you very much. These kids are so cute!" Professor Smith came near to the kids but they ignored her.

"They are just scared of people they don't know well. I'm sorry." The teacher apologized.

"It's okay. It happens most of the time." Professor Smith said then laughed awkwardly.

Of course, it happens every time. Even if I were the kids, I would be afraid and be traumatized after seeing her face.

"Let's go!" The teacher said then we started walking to the library of this school.

Another mission, huh? I wonder what will happen next.
