1 I Have Done It!

It looked as if it were the dead of night, no moon hung in the sky and yet the ground, trees, and mountains could be seen clearly. It was then that he knew, he had done it!

He always wondered if what that guy said was true, and it was! He had finally done it, he had reincarnated!

Mattheo had always been the ruthless type, treading the path of evil, because of this he was unable to accomplish his ultimate goal, to ascend! Mattheo had craved power all his life, but at one point had reached the zenith of human capability.

Normally for humans, this meant they could become demi-gods and live for thousands of years, after which they could become gods and dedicate themselves to safeguarding their world(s)[1] against evil. Mattheo on the other hand, could not. His rise to power with dark magic corrupted his soul binding himself to his mortality.

Though for him, there was still one possibility...Reincarnation! Corrupted souls would usually be unable to ascend, but that only applied to the orthodox races. Mattheo had spent his life rueing his situation, he had thought himself hopeless, but in his time of distress a god called out to him. A dark god.

He offered Mattheo the chance to morph his soul into that of a demon's , his soul had gone through many an encounter and so it was robust enough to survive the process.

Though everything came at a price, he would have to concede all of his power and leave the world he knew. Although knowing what this would mean, he still accepted, the idea that his potential could be limited was what caused his suffering, and someone was here to relieve this pain.

A demon's being was directly of its soul, so he hadn't worried then. All was well until the dark god said something strange...a package deal? He knew merchants would do such things to entice a buyer, just he didn't think such a practice would be applied here.

The dark god said he would allow Mattheo a method of "observing" his condition as well as the condition of others. And that's what lead us here!

Just what this observing was, he'd know afterwards.
