3 Chapter 2: Found

For years, the angel of death had serve the heaven without fail, guided and protected humans without question but it never occurred to him that temptation was too powerful for his own good.

Now, his black wings never cease to remind him that he no longer serve the heavens and yet he can't seem to find the urge to hate God for banishing him.

He knew the consequence before he succumb to the temptation but just because he's an angel doesn't mean he is immune to it just like the humans.

The Angel of Death broke only one rule but it was enough reason for him to be sent to hell.

Killing. Yes, that is the sin he had committed unless you know the other side of the story.

Truth be told, the reason he committed the sin was to protect a human's life.

He willingly did the act of taking one's life even though he very well understood that he was interfering with fate and he was also well aware that his punishment would led to where he is today.

And yet he never regret his actions from the day he was banish, for he knew deep inside that what he had done was right but eventually he did.

He slowly regretted his decisions and actions since the day he met her.

The dark haired beauty with mysterious grey eyes.

He never thought that God would bestow him such precious gift especially since he, who was once a pure angel, had befallen to darkness.

After he found her back then, he never wanted to let go of those tiny hands, for him to always look at her mesmerizing eyes, to watch her grow into a beautiful young lady and most of all, he wanted to keep her by his side even though he can't.

The memory of their first meeting still lingered in his head as if it was just yesterday making him smile whenever he thought of her.

Days turned to months, months turned to years making the angel of death restless and crazy for not seeing her that eventually he couldn't hold it anymore.

And so the angel of death searched every where just to find her but eventually there was no sign of her.

Frustrated, the angel flew to the nearest mountain to vent all his pent up emotions.

When the angel of death reach the mountains, he landed a few meters from the waterfalls.

The gushing sound of the water had always help the angel to be calm in some ways.

Cautiously, he observes his surroundings and when he felt that no one's there.

He snap his fingers to disguise himself into a mortal.

It always hurts him whenever his wings have to be inserted in his body.

With cracking bones here and there, the angel of death slowly walk towards the waterfall.

The forest swayed with the gentle wind as the crickets and fireflies made it more mysterious and enchanting as one pass by.

How he wanted to roam the forest and to spend more time with her but he can't do such things since it's one of the perks of being an angel of death.

Sighing, he stop in his tracks and closed his eyes as he massage his temple.

'Remembering her too much does not help my case at all' he thought

Not before long, he heard the rustles of leaves and snaps of the twigs.

Still the angel of death didn't move nor opened his eyes.

He had felt the presence not to far from him but unlike the others that he encountered this one is special.

"Your not successful with being quiet you know" he said

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you" the angelic and sweet voice made the angel of death shiver from delight.

Opening his eyes, the angel turned to face the intruder only to be awestruck.

The baby that he once saw was now a beautiful little girl.

Her once short jet black hair is already shoulder length, her once fair skin was now glowing under the moonlight and her eyes.

Those mesmerizing grey orbs were now dancing with curiosity and confusion.

All he wanted right then was run and hold her close in his arms right there and them but he can't for he didn't want to alarm his little angel.

Little angel. its funny to know that even though she is a human he thinks of her as his little angel of light.

Oh.. the irony of things since he was an angel of darkness.

He could feel his little angel's curious gaze on him and he can't explain the happiness he felt, knowing that she's checking him out.

"No wings.." she whispered to low for human ears to hear and since he is not, he heard her

Seeing her scrunched up face, the angel of death was too late to stop his laugh which obviously caught the little girl off guard.

"Why are you laughing?" she pouted which only made the angel genuinely smile

"Forgive me but it seems you're rather disappointed with me" he chuckled

The little girl blushed at the angel's words.

She thought she hid her disappointment well but she was wrong.

When she was about to say something the wind suddenly became strong followed by the sound of flapping wings.

"Oh no..." the little girl said in panic.

Not knowing that the man in front of her is an angel of death. She quickly thought of a plan on how she could hide him and being the little girl she is, its only natural to think of hiding the man behind the tress.

Hurriedly, she tried to grab the man only to stop when she saw her guardian angel landed a few meters away from the them.

On the other hand, the angel of death quietly observes the little girl with amusement for his little angel's attempt were futile since he could already feel the presence of one of the seven guardian angels, a few meters away from them.

"Brother... I... uhm... this..." the little girl stuttered as she tries to explain the situation

"It's alright but can you leave us be for awhile?" the angel said

The little girl nodded towards the angel but before she walk away, she turned towards the angel of death and gave him a wave which the angel of death nodded in reply.

The angel of death watched her walk away from his life again and as she slowly fade from his view, the loneliness takes over.

"You do know that you're ruining our moment right?" The angel of death playfully said once he can't feel the presence of his little angel.

"And you do know that you're eating her life force right?" The guardian angel countered.

Sighing, the angel of death turned around to see St. Jhudiel, in his human form, leaning at the tree.

Jhudiel is a messy blond guy and has a body of a model but unlike the other 6 guardian angel, he is the only person whom the angel of death could really get along with if he tried.

"Anyway, why are you here?" St. Jhudiel asked.

"To vent" the angel of death simply said.

St. Jhudiel push himself away from the tree and gestured the angel of death to follow him which the angel oblige.

"What did you name her?" the angel of death inquired as they walk to who-knows-where.

"The name you whispered that night, it was Kaitlin right?"

The angel of death didn't confirmed nor deny the St. Jhudiel's answer.

The two angels walk in a comfortable silence as the two of them focus on their own thoughts.

When St. Jhudiel stop he face the angel of death.

Taking a deep breath he said the words that he needed to tell the angel of death.

"We need to talk about Kaitlin"

>>>>>>>>>>On The Other Side<<<<<<<<<<<

When Kaitlin left her brother and the stranger alone, she felt lonely which she clearly didn't understand.

Since the only reason why she wandered there in the first place was because of a strange feeling that she got awhile ago.

And when she got a glimpse of the stranger, the feeling became intense which made her more curious.

She tried to be quiet as she observes him but as you already know she failed at it which she apologized for.

But what she didn't realize was her surprise when the stranger suddenly turned around.

He was handsome, the typical guy in which all the girls would fall head over heels for.

Nevertheless, she wasn't those type of girls after all she was still a child who loves extraordinary stuff/people which is the very reason why she was greatly disappointed to see that he has no wings but she'll never admit it loudly.

Only to be shocked and embarrassed when the guy suddenly laugh and point out her mistake.

Eventually, she wanted to get to know more of the guy but was too late to do so as her guardian angel , who she loves to call as her brother, suddenly arrive.

Now back to reality. Kaitlin walk towards the waterfall to see that her other guardians had arrived and were scattered around the place.

"Kaitlin!" They all shouted once they saw her which only made her giggle.

"Where have you been?" , "Where were you?" ," Why aren't you here?" "Did something happen?" and the list goes on as the 6 guardian angels ask her all at once.

"STOP!!!" She shouted at the top of her lungs but it came out as a squeak to her humiliation.

All the 6 guardian angels burst into laughter when they hear her squeak.

Annoyed by the situation, Kaitlin stomped her foot and walk towards a rocky path.

She walked towards the rocky path that leads to a cave that is behind the waterfall.

Upon reaching the cave, Kaitlin walk towards her bed and sat there in silence as her thoughts became occupied by a certain stranger.

Sighing, she wonders as to why her emotions became a mess when she was near the stranger.

Earlier, she felt secure, happy and when her brother came she felt panic, afraid of what could happen.

Never did she experienced such things when she was near her guardian angels.

Confusion and curiosity was what she was feeling as she tries to understand her situation but as an 8 year old girl, she can't.

Yes, she is an 8 year old girl but there are times where she doesn't act one.

After all, Kaitlin was raised by 7 guardian angels who had lived for a very long time making their knowledge be past down to her.

"Kaitlin?" hearing her brother's voice, Kaitlin's thoughts were interrupted.

"I'm here" she shouted, loud enough for the angel's ears to hear.

Kaitlin waited patiently for her brother to come to view.

When St. Jhudiel entered the room, she stood up, ran and hug him which the angel happily returned the hug.

As you can see, among the 7 guardian angels, St. Jhudiel was the one who is closer to Kaitlin which explains as to why she treats her as her brother.

"Why are you here Kitten?" St. Jhudiel lead Kaitlin towards the bed for them to sat near each other.

"Just thinking" Kaitlin reposition herself so that her head lays on The angels's lap.

Gently brushing Kaitlin's hair with the angel's hands, they continued their chit chat.

"Really? and here I thought I needed to comfort you" St. Jhudiel playfully said

"Hey! they were making fun of me that's why I left them" Kaitlin pouted as she remember her humiliation awhile ago.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to make you angry" St. Jhudiel chuckled "anyway what are you thinking kitten"

Sleep was already seeping in Kaitlin's system and yet she tried her best to answer St. Jhudiel's question.

"The stranger from earlier" she yawned

"What about him?" St Jhudiel ask, curious as to what Kaitlin would say

"I don't really know"

St. Jhudiel sense that Kaitlin was already falling asleep on his lap but he didn't mind at all instead he hummed a soft tune to help her sleep.

For minute or so, the angel reposition Kaitlin so that she could sleep comfortably in her sleep.

Seeing that she's already comfortable. St. Jhudiel started to walk away when he heard Kaitlin's voice.

Slowly he went to grab her hand to assure her that he was there.

But in Kaitlin's drowsy state never did the angel knew that he would hear the question that the 7 guardian angels could never answer for her.

"Who is he?"
